Topic of the Day:  I think that the only Marlene Dietrich movie that I've seen all the way through is Judgment at Nuremberg, although Witness for the Prosecution sounds kind of familiar.

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Witness for the Prosecution sounds "kind" of familiar???  If you have somehow avoided that film, you need to purchase it NOW and watch it - Billy Wilder, Agatha Christie, Marlene, Tyrone Power, Charles Laughton - it's brilliant.    And you've never seen Orson Welles' Touch of Evil?  You got some 'splainin' to do.  And if you've never seen the Paramount von Sternberg/Dietrich films you really will have to turn in your film fan card :)

Listening to Lalo - this thing came out eight YEARS ago and it's sat here all those years unplayed.  Shame on the likes of me.  And there are probably another 100 or more unopened CDs in the credenza.

I'll borrow Witness for the Prosecution from my dad.  I know he has that one.  And if you hadn't noticed, I am more of a musical theater fan. ::)

I heard some popping last night, but I guess I was so tired I slept through the noise.

This is the worst financial summer of my life.  I'm trying to decide if I spend my last money until July 18 on groceries or my monthly meds.

During the next few days, I'm posting photos from last week's riverboat cruise (from New Orleans to Memphis) on my FB site.

Come look.

I took Annabelle to the basement when I went down to drop off an empty carton of litter.  The exterminator and crew were there and all the usually locked doors were open.  She led me a merry chase while I chased her through too many dark rooms and the crew waited on me.  They were patient and kind; Annabelle was bad.

Thursday morning greetings!

Do you have time to talk on the phone while she's busy telling Thatch all about her adventure?

Went to the bank this morning to take my Mom off the checking/savings accounts and then to the insurance office to reduce the coverage on my 14 year old car....to save about $150 a year....

There is a restriction on the checking account so that direct deposits appear....then disappear....then reappear the next day....that will be in effect for 60 days.  My Social Security DD had been there and gone with my Mom's on the third.....

But it is back today....and Christie just called to let me know that I left my hat at the bank.....whenever I want to come and get it.
