Well, you've read the notes, the notes seemed like Saturday notes written on a Friday evening, and now it is time for you to post until the Saturday cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOIETY!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK!

T.O.D.
HOW THE WEST WAS WON
2001: A SPACE ODYESSEY - I know that wasn’t a Cinerama film, although I did see it at the Cinerama theater in Seattle.
THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM.
-
Actually, seeing THE BROTHERS GRIMM in Cinerama made it memorable, but the film itself was really boring.
-
I am listening to SOUTH PACIFIC. God, I love Kelli O’Hara! I need to watch the DVD this weekend. When I was a kid and saw the stage play and the movie, I couldn’t understand Nellie being in love with Emile, instead of the good looking Cable. It wasn’t until I saw the new version with Paulo Szot that I finally understood the love story.
-
Of course, at age 10 Rossano Brazzi looked to me like somebody’s great grandfather.
-
Are you saying that us olders don't deserve to be loved? If you are, I'm comin' to Tacoma to kick your ass!
-
Not at all. I am saying that being a kid, I couldn’t understand the age difference. Now I do.
-
I think a lot of us probably couldn't understand that when we were much younger. I know I couldn't.
-
Congratulations to George on his new millstone!

First on the east coast

The house smells delicious

Congratulations to George on his new millstone!
Thanks, Vixmom!

Hope the chili tastes as good as it smells

Good luck!!

Well, good night, my friends.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Back to bed tomorrow is a busy day
-
Good night, Vixmom.
-
Well, I'm fading fast. Good night, and have a good day, all!

HOW THE WEST WAS WON
IT'S A MAD (4) WORLD
-
Going to a Bat Mitzvah today.
::)
-
Saturday!
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his millstone.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I do not think I saw anything in real Cinerama......
TOD:
Ice Station Zebra
2001: A Space Odyssey
-
DR JohnG, those churches are beautiful, and now I am very curious about painted churches.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR JohnG, those churches are beautiful, and now I am very curious about painted churches.
Agree. I’d never heard of this.
-
The temperature is going up to the 60s today after a chilly, rainy yesterday. I will make a deli turkey trip for Thatch.
-
Thatch has now discovered that he can get between the bed spread and the quilt hanging over the side of my bed, so he's been climbing onto my bed under the bed spread, thinking he's invisible to one and all. Then Annabelle jumps onto the bed and attacks the big moving lump.
-
Annabelle wants to patrol. Back later.
-
TOD
A favorite subject, but how many favorites among them can I name off the top of my head at this time of morning? Let’s see...
Lawrence of Arabia
Cleopatra
2001: A Space Odyssey
Ben-Hur
Patton
West Side Story
The King and I
South Pacific
My Fair Lady
The Sound of Music
Mad World (huge sentimental reasons involved)
PlayTime
Disclaimer: I enjoy most of the large format films in spite of any individual deficiencies. Sometimes format itself, experienced in ideal conditions, is its own reward.
-
Annabelle liked today's patrol. She saw several sparrows, a couple of pigeons, and a dog.
-
I had two curious dreams last night. One was a long one about the 1986 production of Jubilee, only Rob Berman was conducting instead of Greg Dlugos. My date for the opening was a friend of DR Ginny's and mine, Snooky Barton, and the cast party was huge, lasting all night, with a huge breakfast.
The second is much more vague, something about being in a class - high school or college? I don't know - in Room 11.
-
Of course, at age 10 Rossano Brazzi looked to me like somebody’s great grandfather.
;D
-
Going to a Bat Mitzvah today.
::)
Have a nice time.
-
Not at all. I am saying that being a kid, I couldn’t understand the age difference. Now I do.
He was only 42 at the time.
-
I think a lot of us probably couldn't understand that when we were much younger. I know I couldn't.
I notice it more when the older person gets really old and physically slow while the younger one still has lots of energy. Of course that also happens to couples that are the same age.
-
Hope the chili tastes as good as it smells
I hope you win this time.
-
How is your finger holding up?
-

-
I'm up, I'm up - six-and-a-half hours of sleep.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Four minutes more to say that.
-
I got 10 hours of sleep.
-
It was wonderful.
-
Went out and looked at the olive tree. It’s covered. If tge bees cooperate ...
-
Then picked a huge bowl of loquats in about 20 minutes. The tree remains covered.
-
Good morning.
-
John, olive trees are very allergenic. I hope you don't suffer from it. They have banned the sale of olive trees here because they caused so much allergy trouble.
Also, the olives need to be highly processed to be edible, don't they? No one eats them here.
-
It's quite pleasant out. I got to the pharmacy for some Musinex. I hope it will clear up this sinus issue. If not I will see my doctor because it might be sinusitis or an allergy to the cats. I can't believe that since I;ve had no problem for over a year, and if it is, I'll suffer for the rest of my life because A & T are never leaving me.

You need to brine them. There is a multistep process to it. But I'm looking forward to it. I also like a tea made from the olive leaves.
As for the allergies, I don't know if I'm allergic or not. I'm allergic to everything else in nature, so why not? The three oak trees up front are in full pollen and it hasn't killed me yet. Though it's working hard at it.

I hope it's not the cats. But you've got the right attitude on that. I've been told I may be allergic to the bird. The decongestant helps with that and everything else.
-
When I left the pharmacy, I ran into a lady with an adorable 4-year-old, 25 lb., black and white bulldog. We had a nice chat and she told me she found him at a West Village pet store. I behaved and did not go into my puppy mill rant, but I sure wanted to take that little doggie home with me.
-
Saturday!
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his millstone.
Thanks, Jrand!
-
Well, I'm finally up and need to feed Neve. She's crawling on me and it's getting annoying. ;)
-
I'll eventually head out to my parents' house, but in the meantime, let's turn the page...
-
Three!
-
3hree!!!
-
I need to make a Costco run.
-
Three!
>:( Ya beat me to it, John!
;D
-
I need to make a Costco run.
That reminds me that I need to, too.
-
And now, I'm off.
Be back later.
-
It was wonderful.
I can only imagine.

I had no idea.

It is possible you are allergic to what is on their fur. I kept my cats bathed and rinsed in distilled water. When they couldn't be bathed due to illness or old age I used a wash cloth dipped in distilled water to wipe them down. That also helped my allergies.

The millions of oak trees at our Ashland home bothered us and Sherlock.

I congratulate on not going into a puppy mill rant. I know how difficult that was.

4:00 am
It's so thoughtful of Vixmom to take a break from her slumber to come and post with us. ;)

Chili vibes to Vixmom!
I hope you win this year.

They also make a mess on the pavement. That said, I so think they're attractive trees, but didn't know they caused so many allergy problems.

I think allergies are very bad right now, including here. I'm not really sneezing or anything, but my head feels heavy and so does my nose. I hate a heavy head and nose, don't you?
-
Back from having a light breakfast and other travels.

It's common to NOT react to new allergens for a year or longer. It's known as a "honeymoon period." It takes a while for your body to become sensitive.
It might be time to use the neti pot or give Sambucol or other OTC allergies remedies a try. There are many out there. You might find that you react only for a number of weeks each year or only when the pollen is particularly bad. It may not be the cats at all. You may find ways to control without much cost or inconvenience.

Yes, a heavy head is MOST disagreeable.
-
Allergy-begone vibes to all!
-
I have no news.
Have a good weekend, everyone.
TTFN.

I clearly wasn't the first 14 months they were here
-
Up from a nap.
-
The Costco trip was very good. Got a new pair of deck shoes. I picked them up a size too big, but, even so, they need a little stretching.

I googled it and found "Olive (Olea europaea; O.e.) pollen is a major cause of seasonal respiratory allergy. The O.e. pollination season lasts two months from the beginning of May till the end of June."
-
I would think many trees are banned in Arizona. Once known for being the place to live if you suffered from allergies imported trees, I have been told, changed that.
-
Allergy-begone vibes to all!
Ditto!
-
I sneezed 5 time before reading this discussion on allergies.
-
Yes nice church photos from DR JOHN G.
-
Beautiful weather today - so we worked in the yard......three cans and ONE wheelbarrow of leaves and debris......
I planted some flowers around Precious.....and the BIG bushes have been trimmed....BEFORE the leaves come out.
-
Watching the NCAA Final Four.....anyone but Virginia or Michigan is fine with me.....but it could end up with them both being in the finals....time will tell.
-
DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that the number 11 bodes well for your finances for the rest of the month - and the party indicates you should move ahead with plans that involve other people without hesitation.....
-
I think someone is going to barbecue tonight......they seem to be getting the coals ready.....
-
Starting Cleo from 5 to 7. Michel Legrand has a great scene as Bob the Pianist that ends with the star giving a gut-wrenching performance of one of his songs, Sans Toi (Without You). It's a pretty wonderful movie. Don't know why I hadn't seen it until now.
-
I wish I could watch all of it, but I've got to get ready for dinner.
-
My dance instructor's daughter is in town, and I'm out to dinner with them.
-
I sneezed 5 time before reading this discussion on allergies.
Gesundheit!
-
Cleo From 5 to 7 is one of my favorite movies.....of that type.
-
Well Virginia moves on......every year when I watch the NCAA tournament - and I don't watch every game - there is one guy I want to smash in the mouth.....he's the one who is always running around telling the other players what to do and jumping around like a fool....and making faces when he fouls someone and gets caught....
Last year it was some goon from Ohio - this year it's a Virginia player who just happens to be a former Mr. Basketball from Indiana....Kyle Guy....ugh....and they are on to the finals.
Beat Michigan tonight....PLEASE whoever is playing them. Thank you.
-
I sneezed 5 time before reading this discussion on allergies.
Gesundheit!
Thank you. I am pleased to say I have not sneezed again since that last attack.
-
After our lousy dinner last night-even the wine was bad, we treated ourselves to an extra night out and went to Beaches. I really splurged and had a yummy Manhattan now that they have a special bottle of good vermouth just for us. Our waitress tonight was one we haven't had in a year since she moved away for awhile and recently returned. Another one of our waitresses mixed our drink and sent the new/old waitress back to the table to confirm I was not having my usual, Woodford Reserve Bourbon, tonight.
It is wonderful to go where everyone knows your name :)
-
What, no one got a book today?
-
Had a pretty good stumble-through - too many lyric fumfers, but everyone knows they have to have it down for tomorrow - also some tempo problems and I had to fix a few things, arrangements-wise. I gave a few notes, but I think it's going to be a really good how.
-
I am soooo lucky I already read my book :)
-
Then I made two bean and cheese burritos here. Very filling and yet very calorie friendly with no-fat refried beans (300 calories for the can) and the tortillas are very calorie friendly and I just low-fat cheese.
-
What, no one got a book today?
No book here
-
I am organizing a protest march
-
Well the chili contest is over for another year
-
For some reason they did not have a best decorated table prize this year
-
Much to the disappointment of all the contestants.
-
There were prizes for the crowd favorite and fir 1st , 2nd and 3rd as chosen by the judges
-
But I won nothing
-
I was not surprised
-
My chili smelled wonderful, was very beefy and thick but it was bland ...
-
I'm not sure what was missing but I just was not happy with the final product
-
I did agree with choice of winner this year
-
Back from a good show. MUCH improved over the travesty that was last night’s. Second week Friday performances tend to be tough, but that one took the cake.
-
But I won nothing
That's too bad.
-
And now...
-
5ive!!
-
I did agree with choice of winner this year
At least you didn't feel cheated this time though I am sorry you weren't personally satisfied with your chilli.
-
Yesterday did not feel like a Friday, today did.
-
'night.
-
:o My cat just scratched me!
-
I was just petting her and I guess I startled her and she just reacted. ::)
-
It's all good now.
-
It didn't bleed very much.
-
Tomorrow, I'm ushering for the latest in the Washington Center's silent movie series: THREE WAGGING TALES (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/silent-1904/).
-
I love these silent movies with live organ accompaniment.
-
I'm watching an early episode of this season's Grey's Anatomy.
-
Good evening
-
Congratulations, George, on your millstone. :D
-
I’ll congratulate you again when you pass me up.
-
Boy it was wet and windy today.
-
It was a good day for staying home.
-
No condos to look at this weekend.
-
Congratulations, George, on your millstone. :D
Thanks, Tom.
-
A couple of houses I could have toured, but they all had h-u-g-e lawns!
-
I’ll congratulate you again when you pass me up.
I don't think that'll happen.
-
Boy it was wet and windy today.
I know! Even in Lacey at my parents' house.
-
You are already breathing down my neck.
-
A couple of houses I could have toured, but they all had h-u-g-e lawns!
Yikes!
-
Nick has been crying tonight.
-
Just on and off. Not all evening.
-
A couple of houses I could have toured, but they all had h-u-g-e lawns!
Yikes!
I don’t mind paying a neighbor boy to cut my lawn, but I really don’t want to pay for his entire four years at Harvard.
-
Earlier tonight, I heard Neve yowling LOUDLY out in the backyard while I was up in my bedroom on the third floor!
-
I went downstairs and there was another cat in my backyard!
-
Just as I got down there, the other cat jumped up to the top of the six-foot fence and got away!
-
Neve is too old to jump up there, so I was able to grab her and bring her back inside and shut my back door.
-
I think that there may have been another kitty out on the balcony.
Six
-
Tom, you could always buy a goat.
-
Is Nicky hurting tonight? Poor baby.
