My broadband connection went down for two hours today. Every few months it fails for anything from an hour to (on one occasion) 3 days. I've found the best thing is simply to wait until it comes back. If I get onto the ISP they always say it's not a problem their end and get me to make various pointless checks and changes which make no effect whatsoever.I hate it when that happens. I want to blame the computer, not the connection.
And the word of the day is: NUMINOUS!
Yes, Jennifer, it was the regular customer service. They told me it was too late to stop it, because it had already been packaged. That sounded like BS to me, because it was during the weekend. They told me that I could refuse the package, but it is more trouble than it is worth. So, I will give the book to someone as a gift.
Hope you feel better soon, DR elmore!
DR jose thanks for posting the pic from How To Succeed. Don't care for Nick Jonas. :)
But i am in love with that pic of Darren Criss. Love that playbill.
This might sound dumb, but if you download it what do you do with it. Just look at it?
I love him. Was very happy that he moved up on Glee.
Allergens are thick in the air this morning. And I'm doing two or three things outdoors today. Ugh.
DR JOSE - there was no information posted about the origin of the G4 - but it has a dual processor and a 160 GB hard drive and a few other upgrades....plus built in wifi and wireless mouse & keyboard. I will try it at home, but I was looking for an inexpensive one to take to the theatre this summer for use in the office or at the Stage Manager's table/backstage.
If it turns out to be REALLY good, I may keep it, but I probably won't....LOL. The great computer that we have at the theatre now is upstairs locked in the business office, so it's not really accessible if people need to do a quick check on something - and I hate having the backstage littered with laptops. Of course now people can use their phones and tablets to do the same thing....so we shall see.
Good Morning on a bright sunny Saturday.
We are having dinner with Kevin after he sees the matinee of Clear Day.

You sure don't live in Portland. ;D
What was the point of dubbing Debbie Reynolds in a movie (SINGING IN THE RAIN) about studios dubbing actors in films?

I watched THE KILLER ELITE last night. Most enjoyable. Two killer fight sequences.

Nope, it's 58 beautiful January degrees here in New York City.
We just got back from Joe Fresh where I bought a new pair of corduroy pants, Academy CDs where we bought nothing and Staples where I got a new shredder with the $50 gift card from my office. It was on sale and I got a $10 gift card for purchasing the shredder. I just submitted the paperwork on line.
Larry, sorry you're feeling poorly. It would be nice to see you again to break bread. Get well vibes to you.

Good point!
Call me stupid but I always thought it was Peter O'Toole's voice in Man of la Mancha - it sounded so much like him. I also thought it was Leslie Caron singing in Gigi.

I may be in a minority but I really dislike Sam Pekinpah's films.

Not sure if this is supposed to be a joke. ??? KILLER ELITE is a new film with Jason Statham, Robert De Niro and Clive Owen.

Oh... I thought you wanted a copy of the artwork to print out.
Some people do print them out. Some people make it the background on their computer or smartphone. Etc., etc., etc.
Or you could be like the street vendors in NYC that download all the artwork from the various shows, make an 88-cent color copy of it, place it in a $1.50 frame and then sell it on the street for $10.
I think it's wonderful that people are at home in their own sexuality, but when I see someone like Kristy MacNicol "announcing" she's a lesbian, I have to wonder, "Who cares?"

You have to break the bread? Why, did elmore bake it?

Old Man, you are working my last nerve! :)
Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater is one (of many) that is presenting the concerrt version of TITANIC in honor of the 100th anniversary of its maiden voyage. The 5th Avenue sent me an e-mail asking if I wanted to order tickets for April 13, 14, or 15, I looked at their poster for a long time, before I realized what is wrong with it. It appears that they have the ship sinking by the stern, rather than the corrrect, sinking by the bow.(http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u271/actr2000/titanic_.jpg)

(The only musical people I know in Portland have the initials A.L. and D.H.)
How is the recital?
Oh oh, Ginny has left me.

Nope, DR TCB, just slow posting on my phone!
She just gave a very poised thank-you speech and acknowledged her accompanist.
I thought you played The Mute in The Fantasticks.
And I did all my own singing in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, much to DR Elmore's chagrin. He liked my singing much better in The Fantasticks.
Speaking of singing, or perhaps singing of speaking, FJL I just sent you an exciting parlor game for your evening's amusement.
And speaking of dubbing - always reminds me of the story that was reported when Miss Rosalind Russell's autobiography was publishes and she claimed to do ALL of her singing in GYPSY.
When an enterprising reporter called up Lisa Kirk and asked her about it, Lisa said: "Well, then I guess Jack Warner sent me all those checks just because he's such a nice guy."
The original soundtrack of GYPSY that was released several years ago had a Russell's tracks and some of Wood's as well.....it was interesting to hear. And the amalgamation of both actresses (and some Rose Marie for good measure) that was used in the "Rose's Turn" in the movie had never been released....the LP was almost all Kirk, I think......
Very nice photo DR BEN! Thanks for sharing.....
Great shirts!!
