OK... I need to head out to run a few errands, and then come back here to do some laundry before tonight's HHW FOLLIES Gathering.

Anatomy of a Murder

I would love to see Centennial Summer sometime. I thought Richard Widmark was great in "Saint Joan" but that the movie could have been much better. And I thoroughly enjoyed the book, "The Human Factor," which the movie remains one of the most ill-conceived I've ever seen.

Travel safely, Vixmom!

And the same to everyone who has to go out in snow and ice today.

I bought a new frying pan, with lid, today. I needed one with a lid because Daisy has taken to jumping up on the kitchen units and licking the fat in the frying pan. She's certainly not short of food but, of course, cats just love to search and steal food.

I've just spent a couple of hours adding and amending some DVDs/Blu-rays in DVD Profiler. A rather tedious job but it has to be done!

I stayed home to iron while Keith went to the gym.  Instead I've been emailing the neighbors & calling the road guy.  Keith called to let me know our road is washing away.  Sigh.  I'm glad we are home from our trip, almost as much as Craig is.  We were all lucky it never rained or snowed while we were gone.

So, Richard went out a few minutes ago to check out the condition of our driveway and found solid ice.  He started to scatter salt, got about 3 feet from the garage, and decided to go no further.  He backed up, ver-r-ry slowly, and came back inside.  He called Lima to check their conditions and they have 3-4" of snow (which would be better than the ice).  He's made the call NOT to go tomorrow - whew!

Just got the new Stephen King, "11/22/63," from the library on CD. There are 30 discs. This is about as long as "Anna Karenina" was. I hope it's a tenth as good. I hear it is.

First, though, I must listen to Richard Rhodes' "Hedy's Folly," which is only five CDs.

I watched "The Adjustment Bureau" starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt on TV. What a daft film! It had the kernel of an interesting concept lurking somewhere (although not exactly original), but was handled so badly that I could only concentrate on how idiotic everything was. It baffles me how such a daft script could get passed anyone.

Our roof is being powerwashed.  The amount of pine needles and other crud cascading down around the house is truly incredible.
