I was on a plane once with a non-functioning smoke alarm in the bathroom. They taped the bathroom shut and no one could use it on the long flight.

According to the email Bryan sent me, he's a regular on the show - not just a guest star. Good for him!!

His role certainly seemed important enough to be a regular, but he was listed in the closing credits as a guest star (I think; it's late!). But that's just billing stuff. Rob Lowe was listed as a guest star for the entire second half of BROTHERS & SISTERS, but he was on every week and was insturmental in the show. He'll be listed as a regular in the upcoming season.

I'm not one for frivolous law suits, but seems to me every passenger on that plane with a non-functioning toilet deserved to get free snacks at the very least, and a free ticket at the very most.

Why not try writing to them and complaining? You might get a free ticket out of it.

Do you know that the pilot and flight attendant only spoke to us twice during the hour and a half that we were stranded on the tarmac to explain to us what was going on...? And they couldn't give us a free cookie...?!?!

The problem with my situation is that I was flying using my dad's AAdvantage Miles - their version of frequent flier miles - so technically, I was already flying for free. But the poor people around me who paid $100+ for their tickets should have been really pissed.

No...no Chik-Fil-A today. Maybe tomorrow. And homemade fried chicken is tomorrow night. Mmmm...

I wondered how they could get away with a non-working lavatory... And it turns out that ours was one of the last flights to land in Louisville before the airport basically shut down because of the storm. They were actually bussing people to the Cincinnatti airport just so people could get to their destinations!!

Still, this has been one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had.

Well...

Take a nice hot shower, and sleep well tonight.  You have Fried Chicken Goodness to enjoy tomorrow!

Did they receive advance word that you would be on that particular flight?

Jose: Yes, I have a chicken-filled day ahead of me. I'm very excited for that, though I still feel guilty for indulging so much, even though I'm "allowing" myself to go off the program this week. Maybe I'll go off, but not all the way off...

...And I'm just hoping the storms don't wreak havoc with the trains tomorrow.

However, I am sooooo glad that I opted not to change my train from the 8:00am to the 6:00am.  As much as it would been nice to get back into NYC two hours earlier, 6:00am really is just way to early.  -In fact, I'm thinking I may go ahead and re-book to a later train just because I can.  I was hoping to sit-in on the ACL rehearsal tomorrow afternoon, but since I don't have to, well... We'll see...

Well, chicken is protein.  And Chik-Fil-A sandwiches are chicken breasts, so...  *My weakness at Chik-Fil-A are the waffles fried.  With cheese.

I'm going for the nuggets. No fries. OK...well, maybe a couple of fries. But definitely the nuggets.

DR MichaelS - Do you have another website in the works?

Actually no.

I want to put together a CD of Songs from those movies. That's all. Some I have. Some I am sure are on ITunes.

Hmm... Now I remember why I booked myself on the 8:00am train from Richmond back to New York - it's the "fastest" one.  It's only supposed to take 5 hours and 40 minutes to get back.  All the other trains take about 6 hours, and a few even take 7, so..  8:00am it is.

Well... In any case... I guess I'll have to make another trip down here to go through the stuff I still have at my parents' house.  Of course, now all the stuff is at my parent's new house, but still...  I just haven't been motivated at all while I've been down here to do any sorting and purging.  Also, I've been strangely tired/fatigued/lethargic while I've been down here, most likely from the lack of sleep Sunday night, and the consequent "early" mornings here.  Ah, well.  I've had a wonderful time while I've been down here, and it was an added bonus that my brother was down here this week with his kids, my nieces and nephew. :)

I just got some kind of cool news--I've been hired as a film/DVD reviewer at a major site.  They responded back to my sample (a review of Berri's "The Two of Us") in about 10 minutes, which totally shocked me.  Once I'm "official," I'll post details here.  DS Betsy is thanking heaven that maybe with free DVDs coming my way we'll be able to save for retirement!  ;)

DR Jose: My parents have both agreed (of their own accord) to let me sleep in tomorrow. I think they've forgotten what my idea of "sleeping in" is! I plan to set my alarm for 11:00-ish...

Well... I believe I'm going to get ready for bed.  I want to be up by 6:00 so that I'm rushing to get everything ready to head to the train station.  Thankfully, the Amtrak station is just 15 minutes away.  So, until the morning...

Goodnight.
