My father is doing much better so far.  The new specialist gave us a spray and a gel to use in case the bleeding starts again tonight.  He is says the nasal membrane is just TOO dry, so of course we are also using the good old humidifier.

VIBES IT IS AN EASY FIX!!!

Back from a full day with the cousins.  We left about noon for the retirement community and visited my Mom before going to my aunt's house to gather up her mail and clothes.  We visited with her caring neighbor and then went to visit her.  She's still pretty disoriented, but thinks it will probably be a good idea to move to assisted living when she's stronger.  Lunch at Skyline Chili on the way home.

My cousin called home and it was such fun to listen to Rei talk to his 5-year-old sister:

"JapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseChickenJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseWishboneJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseChicken PieJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapaneseJapanese"

He was telling her about the chicken I served for dinner last night, the wishbone he and his dad pulled this morning, and the chicken pie I made for dinner tonight.  When she talked to my cousin she asked, "Dad, did you eat meat?"  Indignant and a little bit jealous.

While I love having them here, it makes me kind of sad that my aunt is missing out on enjoying her grandchildren.

This has been a bit of a frustrating day and I'm pissed at someone I respect a good deal. I'll get over it, but I'm very angry at him today.

Oh geez, what did I do now?

Tonight's flick is Robert Altman's "O.C. and Stiggs," which is funnier than I remember it being. And there have been some "Cactus Flower" jokes.

I have been trying to figure out how to do "click here" as I have lost my sample.  The birds should be found here: http://www.fws.gov/klamathbasinrefuges

No, thanks, DR Jane.  They're leaving for Georgia tomorrow and I think my cousin is enjoying the American diet.

On second thought, I would like a veggie lasagna recipe that's also low fat...

The bird refuge is two to two and a half hours away and then one drives through it.  We can take Sherlock but Keith is always too busy with yard work during the best times to go and I'm not going by myself.  We went once when we first moved here.

So soon.  It is a shame your aunt didn't have relaxed fun time with her grandson.

You're so vain! You should have known you were out of the situation when I said it was someone I respected!

DR JRand60, back in my Kimmel recording days, I had a spate of horrible nosebleeds. It was suggested that I needed more iron in my system. My memoet is that I tried iron tablets and it didn't help. I had to have my nose cauterized. I hope your dad will be okay.

"Pernambuco" is corrected and ready for Thursday/

I have a good low-cal easy to make bean burrito which is tasty enough to serve to company.

I rarely make lasagna but converting your favorite recipe should be easy.   I'll see if I can find one of my vegetarian lasagna recipes & get back to you.  I expect they still need to be converted to low cal but I doubt that is difficult to do.

Jane, even if she hadn't been in this latest downward spiral, "relaxed fun" is not something you'd expect to have with my aunt.

Jane, I'll take the burrito recipe, too.  Richard and I observe meatless Fridays during Lent, which starts this year on March 9.

Last night's Amazing Race was lots of fun...many of the teams were my favorites during their previous seasons...I think there are only 3 teams that I am not wild about.

So what you are saying is that all the teams are losers?

Topic of the Day:

Fiddler on the Roof
Jesus Christ Superstar
Moonstruck
The Thomas Crown Affair

As for Cher songs, I've liked just about everything of her's that I've heard (with or without Sonny), but I don't know any well enough to say that any are my "favorites."
