It continued raining right up to the time I pulled into a parking space at the grocery store. By the time I came out, we had blue sky and sunshine. Wonderful!

I began my afternoon viewing with last night's ROYAL PAINS. I enjoyed all three "cases" he tended to, but I was beginning to despair when all of these bodacious babes started flinging themselves at him. I hoped it wasn't going to be that kind of series - eligible doctor fighting off women by the handfuls, but with the suggestion that he's found the woman he'll inevitably be linked to on the series, that should free up most of the running time to the personalities of the people he's treating and how he treats them.

I really enjoyed the first episode apart from those vixins out to trap a rich doctor.

I really had only intended to do a spot check of BERGMAN ISLAND since I just watched it yesterday, but I ended up watching the entire documentary again. (I walked out of the room a couple of times to check the mail and pour a soda, but otherwise I watched it all again.)

I did only spot check BERGMAN 101, the Peter Cowie bonus video feature (about 10 minutes out of the 36).

I'll write it up later this afternoon.

Then, I watched an NCIS episode from the fifth season sest. This was the internal affairs episode checking into the murder of "The Frog." A rather surprising ending that I hadn't really remembered.

But this will free me up to watch BECKET on Blu-ray tonight. Really looking forward to it.

Sorry, DAW, but you should know by now I never read your posts.  :)

Good news:  Betsy's Dad is out of surgery and in recovery.

Bad news:  He ended up needing a quintuple bypass and the doctors found scar tissue indicating several (yes, several) previous heart attacks.  Ed has been looking rather frail lately anyway, and I hope and pray this isn't the beginning of the end.  Betsy is very, very close to her parents and I'm not sure she's emotionally prepared for this transition.

We are back from the ribbon-cutting/grand opening of Maxi's Permanent Make-Up, a new business venture of a local retired physician and his wife.  They provide all kinds of services that I never knew existed - like eyelash extensions.  I'm still trying to figure out why one would want their eyeliner and/or lipliner to be permanent.  They also do tattoo removal, just in case...

My sister's ex-sister-in-law (who lives down the street from the house that my sister has just moved out of) has permanent eye-liner AND lip-liner.  She's been having it done for years.

I'm hopping off-line now to settle down and write up BERGMAN ISLAND. Then, it's back down for an evening of fun viewing.

I'm listening to the new West Side Story and Matt Cavenaugh sings what I call the "José Carreras note" in "Maria." :)

"Maria, Maria, Mariiiii-a, MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-ria, Maria...."

I still haven't eaten a meal today.  I've had some fruit and a couple granola type bars but that's about it.  I'm not even hungry

Is the email from DR ARNOLD BROCKMAN about pictures on Tagged or something like that a scam?

I thought "Rent - Reduct" was "Footloose" - according to Mr Gerard Allesandrini

The Becket Blu-Ray was a big disappointment to me - just average, at least to my eyes.  I did read a couple of negative comments on The Graduate, but that one looks pretty good to my eyes.

There aren't many people I know - or care to know - who don't welcome adding another brownie recipe to their collection.

Even if it is missing the usual pharmaceutical enhancement.

A year ago, my car CD player began eating CDs and then broke completely.  The radio still works, but I've basically been without music in the car for a year now - which makes everything very difficult as I never catch up on my listening and I am always stuck proofing CDs in the house.  Today, after a year, I finally did something about it.  I got a new player and radio - I had no idea how cheap this stuff is now and the new radio/player has a cord for my iPod, so I can have that in the car, too.  The whole thing, with installation, was under $160.  They installed it in twenty minutes.  And now I have music in the car again.

The production of PHANTOM at The Venetian is wonderful.  92 minutes, no intermission, and all those extra verses are gone.  Plus the theater and the chandelier are incredible.

It was a lot better when the WSMA was in it, but most things are.
