Well, you've read the notes, and now there is no time to tarry or dally nor dally or tarry, now it is time to post until the 80,000 cows come home.  Let's achieve our new plateau, shall we?

First,

Happy Day to Michael Barnum

Wow, only 8 right now. A number I can manage. I have been so busy that I have not read posts since, I think, Tuesday. I did get to wish BK happy day, but otherwise I'm outta the loop. I'll catch up on Sunday.

Nuttin' in or on nuttin'

Gotta go. Bags to pack and gifts to prepare.

Happy birthday MBarnum .  I am currently listening to a  instrumental  CD called "A Celtic Christmas"  Trying to get into the spirit on this gray gray rainy  foggy miserable morning after slogging through the 30 mile commute with a bunch of trucks and SUVs and others monstrosities that make my Taurus wagon (the momoblile) look like like a tiny circus clown car.

In my DVD we have "West Side Story"  and "Into the Woods"  (we're raising the Vixter to be a Sondheimite ) and probably still that dang Barbie Princess & the Pauper DVD (The pauper is extremely well dressed and groomed for a pauper, and she has a barking cat...Mr. Samuel Clemens must be spinning in his grave .... (its a 5 disc DVD player, I think the other two slots are empty although Mr. David Hasselhoff in '"Jeykll & Hyde" may still be lurking there.

The  VCR is empty I think.

My Christmas birthday brother has been making noises about as TIVO, since we are generally several years behind the fancified electronics curve can anyone give me advice on said TIVO?

Are there different kinds like a VCR or is it just one brand? Can I afford it? Is it hard to install? Do you need to sign up for some special TIVO service? And why oh why is Bush's popularity still rising?  Where are these pollsters polling ? Kennebunkport?

Wonderful radio show last night.  How exciting to get my question answered on the radio!  And I got a question answered back.  The host - asked me - "Are you listening to us on the internet?"  I had told him I was from Indiana.  Well, I didn't know quite how to answer that, I thought of saying:  "No, I am getting you on shortwave through the fillings in my teeth - or some such....but I just said, 'Yes.'"

Happy Birthday to DRMBarnum!

Media report:  Like DRvixmom, I'm trying to listen myself into the Christmas spirit.  My car CD player alternates between A Broadway Christmas (produced by our very own BK, with some help from our very own elmore) and Merry Christmasby the New Christy Minstrels (NOT Christmas with the Christies, their second attempt at a holiday album, which is devoid of all the originality and unique NCM sound of the first.  Both are on the CD release and I always skip the second.  The first contains one of my favorite holiday songs, "Sing Hosannah, Hallelujah!")

I haven't been home enough this week to know what's in the DVD player, but I'll have it all to myself this weekend.  Now, what should I watch?

I had not heard of this CD.  Is it generally available or must I seek it out via the net? Actually, looking out my window, I decided to try the web first!! Too yucky out there.

Any TIVO advice y'all?

Things I am learning from Interrupted Journey on TCM.

There are NO fat opera singers.

All men who come to see the opera are straight and fall in love with the singers.

Eleanor Parker is beautiful - but is least sexy when she tries to be sexy.

Vixmom I don't have TIVO - but several DR's do and I am sure will eventually answer your question.

There are several copies of A BROADWAY CHRISTMAS at Ebay right now.

It's also available at Amazon.com for about $10!

Interrupted Melody, DR JRand.  Took me a while to figure out what you were talking about.  ;)

Wait 'til Glenn Ford puts on her record across the living room.....

DRvixmom - I had found both A Broadway Christmas and A Broadway Valentine in the library where I work, but was able to order them from amazon.com earlier this fall.

BK also recorded a CD called "A Hollywood Christmas."  It has "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," with two reprises of it!

In my CD player at work (when I get there):  last night's radio interview with our very own BK!  I had to break it up into sections, so songs are missing (let me clarify...I stopped the recording so that I wouldn't have just one big giant 2 gigabyte file and I chose to stop when they played songs that I own, so that I can just add them back in from my CDs.  Make sense?).  Actually, I almost lost two chunks of the entire show (one with the What If? stuff!! :o) but FORTUNATELY my computer didn't crash.  Whew!

In my VCR:  last night's "The Apprentice" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" (since I was taping BK's interview)

In my DVD player:  something yet to be chosen.  Maybe the 3rd Harry Potter movie.  I never got to see this at a movie theater.

Pardon me, DRSTUART - you are correct....INTERRUPTED MELODY....in widescreen and stereo at least.

Strange movie - I think Eleanor does her best "synching" job in the Madame Butterfly sequence.

Oh yes, the record in the living room......therapy.  How did Eleanor escape the indignity of movies like TROG?

Or the indignity of the coifffures she had to endure in THE SOUND OF MUSIC?
