Well, you've read the notes, the notes were on their way to you, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently on their way somewhere - just where we know not.

And the word of the day is: AUBADE!

You are really lucky with the weather in NYC, Bruce. The red robins are out there bob bob bobbing along, the daffodils are up and gorgeous, and it's going to be in the mid-high 60's.
As Hammerstein would say, it might as well be spring.

Good morning, all! At 4am I was wide awake.
Now I am certain there are several reasons for this:
1. Tonight we move the clocks up, so it's really 5am and the universe is giving me a head start
2. I cannot sleep because of the stress, anxiety and pressure of the past week
3. The fact that I have had a stiff neck and cannot turn my head since Thursday is making sleep uncomfortable
I'll take No 1, Alex, so I got out of bed washed up, found my neck brace from my 1999 cervical disc surgery and washed the covering, made myself some coffee, and turned all the clocks in my apartment up one hour. It is now officially 5:38am in this apartment, and I have work to do. I think this morning I will start adapting Russell Bennett's orchestration for "I Won't Dance" from the London show The Three Sisters to fit the orchesration of ROBERTA for "I Won't Dance" written for the film version. It's a long number and I suspect it will take me a good part of the week to accomplish.
At some point, too, this morning, I will head down to Toyland, check on things and begin the inventory to be sent to California since the rubble of Toyland is leaving Manhattan. That was one of my emails yesterday: prepare the office to evacuate; all materials on my work, and that of several excellent colleagues, for the past tn years is being taken over by the Cambridge office.

Thanks, DR George! Although yesterday's events were painful and led to several tense emails passing between several parties, the day ended better than I had ever hoped. I don't feel I'm over the hurdle of this stressful week yet.
The biggest part of my weekend is going over the booklet for the Herbert songs very very carefully. It's beautiful, colorful, a pleasure to peruse, the artwork is great, and the first thing I noticed is two missing stanzas of English lyrics for one of the German songs that I clearly lost in transferring files for New World. Oy!
So my major task of the weekend is proofing the booklet by Monday. I've got to protect the other two writers and myself, since about 60% of the 42-page booklet is mine.

We are taking a train trip today, but out of Grand Central Station, which I have never been able to get used to. I'm very much looking forward to getting to our destination, but Grand Central Station has never seemed as hospitable as Penn Station.

Travel vibes for MR BK. And NYC vibes as well.

Continued project vibes for DR ELMORE.

Saturday is a work day .... oh well.
-
I shall be back this evening.....even though tonight is shortened by ONE HOUR.
-
I shall now be on my way to the airport. I can probably post from there.
-
Speaking of airports, greetings from Washington National!
-
I got quite a good airfare for this trip. I had a $50 credit from my Buffalo trip (to reimburse me for luggage fees I had to pay US Airways when my Delta flight was cancelled). And I found a fare of $130. So my net fare as $80! Pretty good, I'd say.
-
Travel vibes for a smooth flight, BK. I do beleive it's going to be cooler than reported in NY--only 44 F per my paper. But 59 tomorrow.
-
Safe travels to BK
-
At the airport. Got through security very quickly. Now about an hour until boarding.

SOLD! Toby the terrible did the same thing to my glasses. I was watching TV in bed and fell asleep with my glasses on. Woke up and panicked because I couldn't find them. When I went into the living room, they were in pieces on the couch.
I could get mad at all the things Toby has taken to the back yard and or destroyed but I look at it as teaching moment--for me. I'm learning to put my stuff away. :)

Safe trip vibes to our esteemed BK and DR Kevin
We lost the dog war last night as the 3 year old played "alpha" - got to the highest point in the room and stared down the 1 year old. They proceeded to go at it, but I intervened quickly and was bitten twice in process. I'm fine, but we took a few steps backwards in our process. Yes, the testosterone has a few more weeks to leave the 3 year old's body (He was neutered 2 weeks ago), but they were getting along so well. So, we are back to square one for a bit.

So sorry to hear that, DR Matthew. I've had the same problem with Toby and Sheena. They have food issues. What I don't understand is both dogs get the same food in the same type of dish. Toby will leave his dish, go over to Sheena's dish and try to put his face into it with her eating there. And she growls and then attacks him. I can't blame Sheena--Toby's in her dish. I've yelled at him, tried to keep him out of the room, etc but he just doesn't get it.
I've also learned that I have to pick up both food dishes when I leave (made an exception when I went to NY) or they (sometimes) get into it when I'm not home. Funny thing is Toby doesn't seem to want to eat her food, he just seems to want to see what Sheena is doing.
Dogs, can't live with them. Can't live without them. :)

Was wondering if anyone is watching that new show called Full Metal Jousting? I'm enjoying it. I love to go to Ren Fests.

I am here, I am checked in, I am happy. The East Coast singer not only had already paid for the room, she upgraded me to a premium room, which is like a little one-bedroom apartment. Well, it won't be quite as wonderful as it would have been had I seen you and the Vixter - you people MAKE New York.

I don't love that the time change is happening while I'm here. I hate it changing this early - I really wish they'd go back to the way it wuz.
I went to the nearby Duane Reade and got five bags of chocolate licorice to ship home, and one small bag to eat here. I'm starving so eight-fifteen cannot come soon enough. The big decision in the hotel room is which bathroom to use :) They both are great, both have stall showers - decisions, decisions. There's a little wet bar and fridge, lots of closets, two queen beds (perhaps I should find a queen to use the other), two TVs - really sweet.
I talked to Todd Ellison - he may come to our little gathering tomorrow. I may or may not see Brent this evening - he's going to see Anything Goes and will come to Joe Allen after, but I don't know if I can last that long. We shall see. Dear reader Kevin will join us at some point this evening, I think. I left messages for a few other people, and spoke to dear reader Iris - she'll probably come to the show on Monday night, and we may get together for some coconut cake tomorrow after rehearsal.
-
I don't love that the time change is happening while I'm here.
On the upside of it happening while your inner clock is already screwed up, you only have to unscrew it once instead of again in a couple of weeks. ;)

They aren't likely too but your dogs might be threatened if there isn't enough wild food for them to eat. If you kill them with a club, or your bare hands, to save your dog will that still be illegal?

As the pending legislation stands, could be.
Actually, the Human Society arguses aginst killing them (surprise!) They say killing an Alha cause the rest of the pack to go on a breeding frenzey resulting in even more animals.
It is also repeortd that Denver has a policy urging the "hazing" of coyotes (spray with a garden hose, make threatening gestures or loud noises. (in other words, treat them like rambunctious teen-agers).

I love the deer photos, DerBrucer. We don't have deer here.
Yes, I know I should be glad.

Ours are no bother - there is much more native vegetation on the surrounsing marsh land than the deer need. The deer might stop and nibble a bit on their way through the neighborhood, but rabbits do more damage. You have gorgeous elk up Grand Canyon way.

PS I have seen hoof -prints by the bird feeders!

The weather folk are telling us that we are going to have a big wind storm tomorrow evening
-
Really? I didn't know that. I may have to look into a Smart-Phone.
Good idea, but beware - it's more involved than new car shopping!
The best deal I've found is Virgin ($35/month, unlimited internet, no annual contract or cancellation fees). But... you do have to buy a phone ($100-$300).

You're having a Republican Primary debate?
der Brucer
-
Well, it won't be quite as wonderful as it would have been had I seen you and the Vixter - you people MAKE New York.
thank you that is so sweet - I am so sorry we had so many commitments for this weekend already we would have loved to have visited with you
Be sure to take some pictures of your luxury suite to post here!

No, the winds aren't suppose to be that strong.

BE GOOD ANIMAL VIBES TO ALL - Lily the cat could use some of those, mom was ready to give her away last night because she keeps knocking all my moms little decorations off of every table in the house
Oh dear ! Broken ornaments - eaten glasses attacking birds battling puppies --- is it a full moon JRand? (or is it solar flares?)

Since there has been so much interest in SMASH here I think you will find this article on our friend's niece's fiancé. Once they marry he will also be related to a high school classmate of Bruce's, the older brother of our friend.

Nice article, but since I don't watch SMASH, I have no idea who he plays.
I don't either & I never saw RENT.
-
Today we had a both funeral and a baby shower at church.
Was that for the lady that was in hospice?

Unfortunately, I did see RENT.

No. She is still alive. This was for a gentleman who went in for gall bladder surgery and it was discovered he had extensive liver cancer. I don't believe he even survived the surgery.

Nice pics DR derBrucer.
Thanks.
Lots like I'm going to be careful how I hunt coyotes; Delaware has pending legislation declaring open season on coyotes - but you can only kill them by bow & arrow or firearm.
Guess I can't choke one even if I can catch it.
der Brucer
Note: the legislation would seem to discrimate against much of the material sold by ACME
are you allowed to sneak up behind it and say meep meep so it leaps up and hits its head on the overhanging rock?
-
I am here, I am checked in, I am happy. The East Coast singer not only had already paid for the room, she upgraded me to a premium room, which is like a little one-bedroom apartment. VERY classy and nice. Two bathrooms even. I'm unpacking now. Tonight, I'll probably sup with Walter and maybe one or two other folks.
What a nice surprise!

Vibes for Lily the cat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

oh dear was it the lady who just had her reception?
-
OH - asked and answered - I am sorry about the gall bladder man
-
Well, I guess the good news is that he didn't suffer much. That's what we would all like.

If I were inNew York tonight I would be seeing this http://www.abingdontheatre.org/

Any restrictions on how the coyotes can kill you?
;D
They aren't likely too but your dogs might be threatened if there isn't enough wild food for them to eat. If you kill them with a club, or your bare hands, to save your dog will that still be illegal?
It strikes me as incongruous that sweet, little vegetarian Jane, is advocating killing coyotes with a club or her bare hands

No idea yet.

If I were in New York City tonight, I'd like to be at Madison Square Garden watching the Big East men's basketball championship game between Cincinnati and Louisville. However, the Bearcats are playing a lot like the Michigan Wolverines did against Ohio State this afternoon in the Big Ten semifinal.

Maybe that was for the best, not surviving the surgery.

it is!!! This was opening weekend and I couldn't even get in to see the show - I am hoping to get in next Sunday

I guess "What would you see if you were in New York tonight?" proved to be a more popular T.O.D. than "What is your favorite Robert Preston movie?"

ROTFLOL I am not!!! I only asked if it was legal or not to defend one's pets. ;)
On the other hand, my friend watched coyote's kill her dog & I'm sure if she had a gun she would have shot them first. :(

G'night!

I should mention my friend lives in Woodland Hills, CA. I don't worry about the Coyotes here as they have plenty to eat without going after pets, not that I ever left the cats outside.

Richard and I finished watching Season 1 of Downton Abbey and I can hardly wait to see Season 2!

Signing off now to reset clocks and try to get a decent night's sleep to be ready for our early drive to Lima.
'night!
-
Oh Ginny you will be so very tired tomorrow. Sleep well.
-
I hope we are able to get up in time for the service tomorrow!!
-
Vixter is assisting minister and i am one of the communion assistants for 8 AM plus I am getting "installed" as council member at both services - at least we are close to Church
-
Our neighborhood is full of coyotes. They scared the living crap out of me the first time I saw them, which was right in our front yard.
-
Years ago a young Coyote would hang out in our yard while Keith worked. It also liked to play with Echo's frisbee.

how many of them did you kill with your bare hands?

Cartier is showing the most inexplicable commercial which must have cost eleven billion dollars to produce and which they are running during every break of the showing of Sin City which does NOT strike me as chick flick

Hence the origin of the common saying "While the Keith's away, the coyote will play"

Back from a wonderfully wonderful and very long dinner with first Walter Willison, then joined by dear reader Kevin, then Brent and his partner Bernie.
