A part of the episode (and some of the next) was about Matt (Kathy's husband) becoming eligible for gastric bypass surgery.  He was approved, but decided not to do it.  That was pretty brave, also!

He must be a large man to be both on CPAP and eligible for gastric bypass. Good for him for being brave enough to deal with those very private things on the air.

Big Brother 6 Spoilage:

Still...while I'm a bit disappointed that Kaysar trusted Janelle -- and know it has ruined the game for who I consider to be "the good guys" --  it is fun to see James manipulating the "disciples" so very well.

Don't you mean Kaysar trusting Jennifer?

Note to Jane:

James Brady, in Parade Magazine:

Quote
TNT says the season opener was its top original-scripted series ever. And critics give Kyra much of the credit.

Her character is brilliant but neurotic and not always tactful. Kyra laughed when I remarked that she had more nervous tics than Tony Shalhoub in Monk. “I take that as a compliment,” she said.

Too many. Before she was out of town, I was, so I haven't really seen the Gal in two weeks.

Well, he sort of...no, he actually cheated!  When he went in for his final weigh-in, he had to be a certain minimum weight before they would approve the surgery.  He added ankle weights to make up the difference and on the way to the appointment, he said he hoped that the doctors wouldn't question him gaining 23 pounds in ... however long it was since his last appointment or find the weights.  It wasn't really enough time to gain 23 pounds.  They didn't find out and he was approved, but as I said earlier, he decided not to because of some issue with his stomach.  I don't remember exactly what it was, though.

HINTS FROM HELOISE"

(From The Guardian)

Quote
WD40 is not a chemical normally associated with combating illegal drug use. Defoliants over Colombia, maybe. But not WD40.

According to a report on the BBC Radio Five Live Breakfast show, Avon and Somerset police are advising Bristol bar owners to spray the household cleaner and lubricant in their bathrooms to stop cocaine use.

The spray puts an "invisible film" over toilets and basins that absorbs the cocaine when any tries to snort it off them. It instead turns it into a congealed mess. The advice comes just a few days after BBC Wiltshire reported that a pub owner in Swindon was spraying it on toilet seats because anyone who then tried to snort cocaine off them got a nose bleed.

Since I was at lunch during a fair portion of the early afternoon, I didn't resume JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG. I'll get back to it tonight. Instead, I watched last night's episode of THE COMEBACK, another winner, I thought.

I am SO envious of the cooler temperatures there, DR Ron. It's been a very stifling last few days, and afternoon thundershowers don't do anything but make it seem more jumid and definitely hotter.

My goodness! Another new cast member added to ALIAS for next season. Balthazar Getty has been added to the cast along with the previously announced  Rachel Nichols and French actress Elodie Bouchez. Greg Grunberg (Weiss) has already been announced as leaving the show, so the ALIAS we're going to see this fall is going to be something very close to a new show.

I'm wondering if the thinking is that even if Jennifer Garner leaves the show at the end of the season, if there are any ratings at all for ALIAS this year (hard to accomplish since EVERY network is aggressively scheduling shows for Thursday at 8 p.m. this season), ABC might renew it with this mostly new cast possibly retaining Kevin Wiseman (Marshall) and a few others for the show.

Time will tell, but it's certainly going to be a very different ALIAS from the one we're all used to.

I don't put much stock in reviews, but it's always nice to read positive ones.

I finally got a call back from Mr. Sammy Williams, who's been out of town.  I was actually taken aback by how fondly he remembers Stages, and what fun he said he had.  He's a'comin' to the partay, too, so it's looking like we'll have quite a few of our Stages cast.

I have a theatre related story that includes a six inch splinter in my bottom which required a emergency room visit to remove

And now you can be type cast for a role in Candide:

Quote
I have suffered a lot
And I'm certainly not
Unaware that this life has its black side.
I have starved in a ditch
I've been burned for a witch
And I'm missing the half of my backside.

To Brits and Australians you are arriving in January and leaving in June. DR Elmore will be indeed a generous host. (Despite his week away)
