Jason - Not in NY, i'm trying to map out a trip to Vegas for November or December.  Hoping to time it so that I can see Barry Manilow and Ka and Avenue Q.  Good Ka availability seems to be the biggest sticking point so far.

Damn! I've always wanted to see Manilow in concert. Let me know how he is!!

I'm quite sure there's a splendid punchline in there somewhere about TCB doing it alone, but I'll leave it for others (possibly TCB himself) to work out.   ;D
......

Sorry for the delay.  I couldn't type with just one hand.

I love how we constantly reference TCB, when the fact is we are all just as foul at heart!  :)

So far, it seems the scalpers have all the good Manilow seats, so I may have to be content with my memory of his show at the Gershwin years back.

No, the Greek is unaware. I wish I had the nerve to tell said Greek, but alas, I am the proverbial chicken.

FJL: Barry's in town?? When!?!

And by strange coincidence, my Greek played a lead role in the national tour of COPACABANA.

Franc D'Ambrosio is your greek?

Darn it, if no one else is going to ask the obvious question, I have to:

So what's a Grecian earn?  (I mean, of course, in a tour of COPACABANA.)

Sorry, I just couldn't help it. :(

Man, I've got to see if my live feed is over tonight or tomorrow night. I was at March of the Penguins and missed the blow up.

No, my Greek is not Franc d'Ambrosio, though Franc was the first Phantom I ever saw.

I do not know how much a Grecian earns in a tour of COPA. Not much, I'm guessing. It was a non-Eq tour.

"Big Brother 6" Spoilage:

The live feed is on the fish tanks...and has been for quite a while.  Howie has not let up on April since earlier this afternoon.

He has been demanding her "D.O.R.", which I take it is some form of withdrawal request (Jenn said it was a reference from "An Officer and a Gentleman."

April has been boo-hooing and sobbing and calling on God and asking each of her teammates to have her back -- "don't talk to them", "say something to them" (I wish she's make up her mind!!!), "I'm in fear", "he's attacked my family," "he shouldn't be allowed to do this," "why is he attacking me???" (that's the question Maggie is wondering about, too), and on and on.

It has been my great glee to see each of them refuse to aid her.  Ivette: "I'm not going to say anything to them unless they attack me."  Maggie: "I'm not going to say anything in response to anything they say."

April is shocked, I think, to learn that her "team" not only won't intefere but won't stop talking to/with them.

We all know, we who watch live feeds, anyway, that April is the biggest, if not 2nd biggest, bitch in the house.  She has lied to people and then lied about lying.  She truly has no honor, no morals and no sense of decency since she's been eviscerating everyone who is now against her (Howie, Rachel, Janelle and Kaysar) and calling them "mo-fos" and "F_ckers" whenever she wants to stir folks up.

I hate her to pieces. And I think her team is getting tired of her, too.  Maggie already doesn't trust her.

Last time there was a feed, Jenn had been called to Diary Room.  When the feed cut to fish tanks, JamBitch (minus Jam...who was "resting" in the gold room) were applying makeup and preparing to go outside and stare Howie and Janelle down.

I can only quiver in anticipation to learn what happened next!

P.S.  Rachel was fixing dinner...for only the five of the "outcasts."  Made a point of not including JamBitch.

We have finally ordered our new kitchen cabinets and the new appliances. :D  We have installers for both lined up as well as the electrician.  Now we need to find people to do everything else, all before we go visit Craig.

I will also need to get rid of everything in the kitchen I can bear to part with.  I’m slowly working on it.  I think I should begin weeding out my tin collection. :(

I just spoke to DRJoey, who's busy with pre-school projects and committees; he says this week and the first week of school will be crazy and then, when things have calmed down, he'll be back with us.

I'm looking into summer 2006 New York theatre internships he might be intersted in tackling.  Any ideas from any DRs?

BB6 Sort of spoilers

Good heavens, just caught up on Canoe.... I can't wait until the live feed comes back. To say all hell has broken loose is putting it mildly. I am so glad that April is finally getting paid back for what she has done to people.  I was going to say I wouldn't watch if Kaysar was off, but you know, it will be quite a scene as the disciples start turning on each other.

Feed is still on the fish tanks. I would love to know what BB is doing to either calm things down or stir them up more.

I wonder if DR Matt H got his kitchen floor mopped properly this past weekend.

He told us he was dreading doing it, but I don't recall reading that it got done.

Yes, it got done on Friday as per my cleaning schedule. TOnight was the dining room. That's done for the week, too.

a BIG BROTHER 6 question. This business of the cameras going to the fish tanks. Has this always been done? I really don't think that's quite fair. You're paying for access, and then access becomes selective. Nope, not right.

Spent a good part of the evening continuing with JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG, but not quite finished. Spencer Tracy is about to give his decision, but I thought that would be a good time to stop and finish it tomorrow.

Such a wonderful film filled with great acting, a literate script, and clean, simple direction. One of the greats.

I've always wondered if it was this film or THE HUSTLER that finished second to WEST SIDE STORY at the Oscars that year. Surely it wasn't THE GUNS OF NAVARONE or FANNY, the other two nominees.

"Taking Comfort in Numbers Department"

(From the AP)

Quote
Mad Cow Rules Broken Over 1,000 Times
Monday, August 15, 2005

WASHINGTON — Inspectors have found more than 1,000 violations of rules aimed at preventing mad cow disease from reaching humans, the Agriculture Department said Monday.

A meatpacking industry official said the violations were minuscule and should not be worrisome.

"The truth is that these very low numbers ... demonstrate a remarkable level of compliance with federal regulations exceeding 99.9 percent," said Jim Hodges, president of the meatpacking industry's American Meat Institute Foundation.

Gee 99.9 % of us are perfectly safe - we just lose everybody in TAMPA!
