Can someone who understands the iTune store tell me how it works - how do you search, etc.  Do you have to register?  None of this seems apparent from their splash page.  And can someone ascertain if Guy Haines and After the Ball are available?  They're supposed to be.

To search, say you are on the ITunes site and you see a little window with a magnifying glass in it at the top right. Type in Guy Haines and hit return.

I've just been on the phone with Jonathan Tunick for an hour, mostly on THE GOLDEN APPLE rehearsals next week, but also some catching up on what we've been up to.  I don't know all the cast for the GOLDEN APPLE on Aug 28, but I've got several friends in it: Crista Moore, Daniel Marcus, Ken Jennings, and Nancy Opel.  John Cullum, Howard McGillin, Ann Crumb and David Staller are also in it, and I'm looking forward to meeting Cullum.  I met Ann Crumb through Dear Friend BK many moons ago.  Didn't she audition for LOST IN BOSTON, or was it something else?

DRRodzinski, did TPunk arrive safely?

Her flight was delayed, so she should be landing at JFK in 20 minutes or so. :(

Ann Crumb... I believe I saw her as Aldonza opposite John Cullum's Quixote in Seattle around 1995ish.  I was quite impressed by her performance.

We have finally ordered our new kitchen cabinets and the new appliances. :D  We have installers for both lined up as well as the electrician.  Now we need to find people to do everything else, all before we go visit Craig.

I will also need to get rid of everything in the kitchen I can bear to part with.  I’m slowly working on it.  I think I should begin weeding out my tin collection. :(

Are they tiny tins?  Jane, are you just going to put them away or throw them away or give them away (or sell them)?

I work with a couple of women who collect small decorative tins.  If you're just going to throw or give them away, Kathy and Mary Ann are very nice people and would be very happy to receive them.  If you're planning on selling them, well...I could act as a go-between...unless you are going to keep them and put them in storage.

I was feeling restless, so I took a long walk, got some frozen yogurt (vanilla with peanut butter cup topping) and walked back home.

Oh.... I love Ann Crumb.  Well, for the obvious reasons...Aspects of Love-  but why beat a dead horse around here.

Anyhow, bk, did she ever record for you????

She must have been doing the La Mancha circuit because I saw her in San Jose also.  Playing Aldonza, of course.

I have a boot of her in "Rags" and she rocked.  Total under-used actress.

After the Ball is there, also, but the title of the album is "Noel Coward's After the Ball."  If you just search "After the Ball," you get a whole bunch of other stuff.

I have the original London cast recording of The Goodbye Girl with Ann Crumb and she's good, but the "new" score (totally different than the Broadway version...and with all new lyrics by Don Black) is not good at all. :P

Me too!!!!   And what's up with the score?  They cut the best song "No More" or whatever that is.  Marvin at his best.. NOT!

There's a new score to The Goodbye Girl?  Without the Zippel lyrics?  Who knew?

Never have worked with Ann Crumb, but I recall that we spoke several times about such things.

They actually kept two Zippel songs, "Elliott Garfield Grant" and "Good News, Bad News" (according to the track list).

Don Black... now there's a discussion.  Being the lone Lloyd Webber fan in these parts, I can say that he hasn't done much to help ALW along with his music.  The music suffers from his lyrics greatly.  With the exception of "Song and Dance"  his lyrics are mundane.  Actually, to ALW's defense, he hasn't had a good lyricist since Tim Rice, until his recent teaming with the afforementioned David Zippel which is a vast improvement over Black, Steinman and heaven forbid - Ben Elton!!!

You're not the lone ALW fan.  I enjoy (wouldn't say love) some of his shows and recordings, but much more the Tim Rice collaborations than the later shows.  And I certainly don't think he's the greatest composer ever.  I've seen Evita with Florence Lacey (loved her and it) in Seattle, Phantom in Vancouver, BC (I liked it, but I never have to see that show again) and Sunset Boulevard on Broadway with Betty Buckley (I thought it was wonderful).

They're just announcing on the local news that there was a 6.8 to 7.2 earthquake just off the coast of Japan!  It doesn't sound like anyone was killed.

Good Evening!

Back from tech... We finished just after 2:00am... Whew!  Still some spots to rough in, but those will have to wait until Wednesday afternoon and evening.  But, otherwise, a very productive day.

And now I read...
