Jason whatever you do in DC you are bound to enjoy yourself.  I am so happy your first session went well.

Ann good vibes finding a wonderful job.  It is tough when people lie about you, even worse when it affects your livelihood.

Well, I'm going back to play with the printer. I can't wait.

What's his name? Have you known him long?

Jason "The Life Of Pi” is an odd book, and definitely a unique one.  I say read it and decide for yourself.   It made for an interesting book group discussion.

Thanks, Jane. It'll be fun.

And speaking of DC...I got a call from DR Jose while I was out. He's home safe, though he sounded absolutely exhausted. I'm hoping he's able to fit in a nap before his show tonight.

Elmore:  just curious, do the "critical notes" contain phrases like:

Why in hell did he modulate from Gmaj to Ebm using an A diminished pivot chord?

Enquiring minds, and all that.... ;D

I guess we will never know who killed The Masked Marvel.

Is it true that one of them was actually Mr. Marlon Brando, in disguise?

Yes, the account was all kinds of "vague", yes?  Talking around, as it were, what they wanted to say...that he had taken a house for an Austrian gigolo, perhaps?

Isn't it odd how poking fun at someone's interests can elicit a chuckle?

I didn't feel I was poking fun at DR MBarnum, rather pointing out future interview possibilities to him.  And if I were poking fun at DR MBarnum, I think he's aware of how much I value his friendship and that of other DRs at HHW.

Thanks for the comments on the SUPERMAN dvd commentaries, DR MATTH.  I haven't listened to them yet, but was VERY disappointed in the brevity and the content on the "special" feature on Noel Neill.

The last three seasons of SUPERMAN only had 13 or so new episodes, so I am wondering how these are going to be released....

Yes, not quite sure how they're going to do those, and I haven't read anything about them.

I haven't gotten to any special features on the last disc, but sounds like there's not going to be a lot to watch. Disappointing.

One of my more infamous girlfriends was, believe it or don't, a Moroccan Jewish belly-dancer who was quite famous in the Portland area--she was a pro who danced nightly at a big restaurant that featured belly dancers.  Her name was Seilah, which I always thought was a sign from G-d, being pronounced the same way as the frequent "stop" in the Psalms, Selah.  Well, Seilah was quite a trip.  She was quite a bit older than I, and more than a bit on the wild side.  One of my favorite Seilah stories is the first night we were together.  Get your minds out of the gutter, especially you ,TCB.  No, there we were lying in bed when Seilah said, "My eye hurts."  She then proceeded to remove a glass eye that I had no idea she had and set it on the nightstand.  I managed to keep from seriously freaking out, but it was a moment.  :)

Now wait a minute, JMK, you tell me to get my mind out of the gutter; and then you say, "there we were lying in bed...."  Now mind you, I have known my way around a few gutters; but really, what am I to think?

You were composing radio copy for Sealy Posturepedic???

Sorry to read about your job situation, DR Ann. How upsetting that must be! I have a friend who has lost two jobs due to the jealousy and backtalking/backstabbing of fellow employees, and it sounds not only hurtful but decidedly unfair.

I just read about it on TVGUIDE.com. THere was a special effect explosion that went wrong and injured four stunt people. However, the injuries weren't serious.

Just ordered SECOND ACT TROUBLE and HOW SONDHEIM FOUND HIS SOUND.

Has any DR read A FINE ROMANCE - the story of Broadway to Hollywood transitions?  If it has been discussed here before, sorry....

Jrand, have you heard anything about when SECOND ACT TROUBLE will be released.  It was supposed to be in store on January 5, but last I heard, it was still pending.  I am really looking forward to reading that book.

I think it's been postponed until early February.  I've had it on order forever.  Maybe I'll email Steve Suskin and ask what's up.

Yes, please do.  AMAZON.COM seemed to indicate that it would ship immediately.

Broke a nail... :)

I am so tired of these "singers" and soap  "stars"  who claim the title of diva as if they could bestow it on themselves.  And as if it were a compliment.  But then some "stars" on these idiot dramas also claim that they are great actors because they have to memorize a lot of lines and perform them in a short period of time....as if "memorizing lines" constitutes acting.  Oh well....

Thanks, DR MATTH - I should have realized when the PROMO kept airing to promote the local news on the ABC affiliate it wasn't much in the way of actual NEWS!    :P
