Miss Karen, yes, I do believe we are supposed to cool down here after today. It is forecast to be a nippy 108 tomorrow.

Well, pull out the electric blankets!

While I enjoy the idea of a 1-point hot dog, I have to say, they sort of taste and have the texture of warm Vienna sausages, which kinda makes me want to vomit on the ground. Thank God ketchup is a point-free food...

In Today's News:

The city fireworks display in Williams, Arizona, set off a wildfire which is still burning.

The Monsoon will hopefully be starting soon. Then it will be hot and humid, and I'll really begin griping.

I find it interesting that Al Gore's son was arrested for possession of pot and now Al's telling CNN that he's fallen out of love with politics and will not run for office. I don't really think the two are connected, but I think the timing is funny.

Gotta scram!  Maybe if I'm gone for a while, DR FJL will write me another ode...Wonder what I have to do to get flowers and a box of chocolates along with an ode? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

STOP THE PRESSES! It's a banner day on the Broad Way...

MAMMA MIA! is now the 19th longest-running musical on Broadway...

George M. Cohan just did a couple of pirouhettes in his grave.

Did I correctly hear "Jeremiah was a crawdad" last night, or am I just nuts?

I thought she sang that Jeremiah was a PROPHET, or profit.

George M has probably been spinning since it was reported a year ago that MAMMA MIA! was the most profitable theatre presentation ever.

Karen - There was a box of chocolates with your ode, but you ate them already, and I have the empty box right here to prove it.

Holy moley on rye - I got up at eight-thirty this morning and this is the first time I've been able to come to haineshisway.com.  I had a telephonic call from the lovelier than lovely Mr. Tony Walton this morning, and spoke to a set person and a costume person he's working with - I've offered them both the job, but scheduling is a problem and we'll see if it can work out.  I trust Mr. Walton implicitly when he recommends someone.

And now I must shower and head out to the theatuh to make some deliveries and send out some windowcards to London.

Then I have to go find out how much weight I gained last week...I'm 99.99% sure I will have gained something.

I've just been watching the 1982 Scarlet Pimpernel with Anthony Andrews and ane Seymour, and I love the music to this. After 24 years is it too much to hope that someone might put out a soundtrack?
