On the first disc in the set are the bonus features, and so I watched them. The first one was another remembrance of the show by many of its creative team before and behind the camera. A surprise to see Michael Horton (who played nephew Grady) after so many years. My, we ALL change over the years, don't we!

There was another special feature on the Top Ten sleuths of all time as decided by an on-line poll.

Jessica Fletcher ranked 6th.

Who's #1 - Magnum P.I.! NO WAY!!!

No Brenda Lee Johnson? Emma Peel/John Steed? John Drake? (Secret Agent/Danger Man) Adrian Monk?

And I ended my evening watching one more MURDER SHE WROTE. This was the first one in a series of programs this season where Jessica was not a part of the mystery. In order to give Angela a somewhat lighter work schedule, CBS allowed her to have "guest" detectives solve cases while Jessica merely bookended the shows with brief commentary. These shows were never as much fun, and I never looked forward to them.

In this one, there were actually THREE sleuths trying to solve the crime: June Havoc as a mystery writer, Robert Vaughn as a radio sleuth, and Marc Chapman as a newspaper puzzle expert who was trying to break into the real journalism/crime solving business. Other guests were Henry Polic II, Paxton Whitehead, Dane Clark, and Gordon Thomson.

And I think the HHW folks who go to the New York Musicals Festival should all go to the underpants musical. Just because.

This was from an unused Ellery Queen (Jim Hutton) script, with Robert Vaughn taking the Simon Brimmer/John Hillerman role.

It does seem right. We must all stop for a Cherry Coke afterwards and discuss how we think F. Scott Fitzgerld would have treated the subject matter

I won't know until Monday about set, costume, and lighting folks - I was really hoping to know tomorrow.  If these folks can't do it, then it's back to scrambling around.

Hello, all...

My, what a busy, humid evening it was at AVENUE Q!

I had a meeting with my supervisor today. There are plans being made that I can't quite talk about yet, but let's just say it could be a fun summer next year!  ;D

Where to begin?

Let's just say it's a shame they didn't cancel last night's Capitol Fourth concert in DC.

During the opening, I was shocked to learn that Tony Danza had a large melanoma on his cheek - on closer inspection it seems it was one of those darling little cheek mikes.

Our National Anthem has destroyed many a singer - Hayden Panettiere is now no exception.

Elliott Yamin was given a new smile, a fright wig from a Three Stooges' movie and the worst arrangement of America the Beautiful ever heard.

Erich Kunzel did an orchestral ad-lib to salute our servicemen; he was so impressed with his improvisation that he continued it through half of Danza's opening remarks.

Yolanda Adams was resplendent in a gorgeous blue satin gown, adorned with gobs of diamonds, and absurdly accessorized with a clunky sports' wrist watch with a bulky leather strap! She also choose to "accessorize "God Bless America" by adding some class to Berlin's lyrics -it is a much more polite version: "Please, God Bless America".

If you're going to costume Bebe Neuwirth for a Chicago/Cabaret number, why go with Virgin White, of course.

Unhappy with Bebe's version of Cabaret (who wasn't) interrupt it with the start of the fire works! At least Kunzel waited till after Krystal Nacht before starting the 1812 Overture.

America would have been better served if the tornados had struck and taken us all to OZ.

der Brucer

Some was good but I would take Barry Bostwick anyday over Tony Danza
