Well, we've learned that Richard's presence will next be needed for a funeral-planning meeting at the church tomorrow afternoon. So, we're going to proceed with our plans to go to Cincinnati, load up my car and Rob's, and come back here for dinner together.

TOD:

My mom has kept virtually all remembrances, ephemera, etc., from my school days. All my report cards, of course, and photos I had gathered of classmates are included in a box full of other photos and remembrances/mementos, etc.

Among them are my first grade reading books....Alice and Jerry. I know many had Dick and Jane, but some of us had the illustrated stories of Alice and Jerry and their dog Jip.

As for the Topic of the Day...

My mom saved all of my grade school (K-8) class pictures and report cards. She assembled some wonderful photo albums for/of me and my brothers. I, in turn, saved almost all of the pictures and report cards from my high school years. However, I never purchased my own copy of my Junior Year yearbook, and it's actually the one yearbook I wish I had since it was a good year for school activities for me. But at least I have my brothers' copies to reference. There is also one box of high school Drama programs that I keep hoping will turn up some day. Alas, I believe it may have gotten thrown out in one my moves.

I also have a binder filled with my judging sheets from the various piano festivals and competitions I participated in.

At my work, we have an employee bulletin that's sent out (and posted on our Intranet) every week. Sometimes they need to fill space and this week, they had this joke:

Back from the dentist. He did want to give me a shot of Novocain, but I said I'd rather not, and everything was fine. He was only removing the temporary crown and putting on the new porcelain crown - it was quick and painless.

Well, that was the plan. His schedule as first posted was for a five day 37 hour work week (he's part-time and is only supposed to get 35 hours maximum) with today off. At 7:30 AM the store supervisior called and asked him if could please come in earlier - so it's now 9-4 - at least he's off an hour earlier. That puts his part-time work-week up to 44 hours.
