Funny--all the talk about tofurkey---Everybody Loves Raymond is on with a Thanksgiving episode where Marie and Deborah decide to cook one.

;D

We recently watched EXPORTING RAYMOND, the documentary on the making of the Russian version of the show.  I highly recommend it if you like the show or not.

The church service that we attended tonight was a joint effort of 6 local churches and the Salvation Army.  Right inside the door, I was greeted by my friend Cindy who moved to Chicago several years ago.  She and her family are in town visiting her husband's parents.  After the service, our friend Judy from Miami University, who I had not seen for a couple of years, came over to talk.  And as we were about to leave, a former student Joanne grabbed me and said, "I saw you from where I was sitting in the choir!"  Joanne was in the library technology class I taught at Miami when Rob was a year old.

It was nice, DR Jane, especially since they were 3 people I never expected to see tonight.

Having dinner with friends tonight. It's become a Thanksgiving Eve tradition among us. We find a place that lets us bring in a bottle of wine and then we sit for hours being thankful for each other's friendship through the years. In the past, it was at the best French restaurant in the country (actually the No. 6 best restaurant in the country according to Gourmet magazine), but that place closed and is no more, so we have tried a few other places since. Tonight is a Cajun/French/Texas place. Should be fun.

Which French restaurant closed? Aquarelle? Chez Nous? Justine's? ???

;)

It was called Le Reve, which means the Dream, and it produced food that was dream-inducing. The chef-owner closed it to open Il Sogno, which is Italian for the Dream, and the food is, well, not dream-inducing. Not nightmare-inducing, either, just not all it should be.

Sounds like DR BEN is going to have a good time!

Isn't tonight the night that DR JOHNG is on TOP CHEF: Texas?
It was and I missed it.

I loved that song. Even if she could moan better than she could sing.

Does anyone know whether or not they decided to pull the big balloons from tomorrow's Macy's Parade?

Haven't a clue & I don't plan to watch the parade.

Really?  You don't like parades, or you don't like Macy's?

I think I have only watched the Macy's parade a few times.  I've been to the Rose Parade several times & it was fun.  I used to watch it at home & haven't in a long while now.

I like Macy's Parade for the Broadway numbers, but last year was disappointing.  And they just said on the news that the balloons are in for tomorrow.

Wishes the Broadway numbers are better this year.

Me, too.  That's the only reason for watching the parade...in my opinion.

Wow, they are only listing two Broadway shows for the parade tomorrow.  HOW TO SUCCEED and SISTER ACT.

The CBS description says that they'll be showing (at least) ANYTHING GOES and MEMPHIS.  And both NBC and CBS are showing excerpts from shows.

I've been watching the movie version of "A Chorus Line."  One thing that you can say about it is that they cast real dancers.  And they shot the dances in a way that you knew that they were all really dancing.

It was on Ovation a few days ago, so I decided to recording it.  I hadn't seen it since it was first released.  I liked it...but didn't love it.

It's just too bad that the original choreography was not used. The opening sequence: Yikes!

*And I still remember the look of horror on Baayork Lee's face when we happened to be doing a special event at a "special interest" establishment, and they decided to show clips from the movie. ::)

As for the Broadway numbers during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, check Playbill.com for the listings. Some of them are not part of the official parade line-up, but are part of the network line-up. And since both CBS and NBC broadcast the parade... -Or is it ABC? Check your local listings. ;)
