I have five (count 'em) reviews I really should get written today, and yet I am here posting to no one reading.  ;)

At least I got us to page 3, so BK will be happy, even though he will not notice who achieved this momentous task.

Among my reviews is the kind of interesting 2L audio Blu-ray release of a bunch of Grieg's music, with Grieg himself memorialized via piano rolls, as well as one of his favorite interpreters, Percy Grainger.  Interesting, not especially successful.  ;)

But it's not because he (and everyone else) doesn't read your posts, it's because you're a LESBIAN!!!

Well, that goes without saying.  Or not, evidently.  ;)

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I'm thinking I might go out for a brief walk around the neighborhood. Then once I'm done with that and back in my apartment, I'll decide if I need to crawl back into bed for another hour or so. Just feeling a little groggy and foggy-headed. I think.

I would love to have a letter from Mr Sondheim!  I do have a question for him.  Do you think he would answer it if I wrote to him?

He used to be good about answering every letter (in the late 70's/early 80's).   I don't know if that is still the case.

I know that Jose wrote to him at one point and received a response IIRC. Isn't that true Mr. Jose?

That is indeed true, Mr. Ben.  In fact, I wrote to him a couple of times and received responses each time.  You can basically ask him anything, but...

-Even though he likes solving cryptograms and other word puzzles, he doesn't appreciate having to "solve" correspondence. -And I'm just glad I didn't have to solve his response. Whew!

-If you share an opinion with him about one his shows, be prepared to have him share his opinion of your opinion with you. Ouch!

He did send me a photo as well, which was nice.  I am not sure if his address is the same.

I just watched a documentary about the rock group THE MONKS.  Very interesting.

They're probably in the back of that drawer with BK's sleeping shorts.

SPOILER

The purpose of posting SPOILER alerts about the discussion of a show is a "courtesy" to other readers...readers whom, ostensibly, we consider part of a "family."  Frankly, except as a courtesy to allow for the 3-hour delay between east coast and west coast airings of awards shows (except the Oscars, which are live everywhere), there's really no point in posting next-day "Spoiler" warnings about winners.  They're on the news and in newspapers.

We cannot all watch a show when it airs.  We cannot all go see a movie at the same time.   But this should not deter anyone from discussing it.  The SPOILER notification alerts those who haven't watched a show, or seen a movie,  to pass on by.

Perhaps BK could establish a time moratorium on SPOILER-LESS discussion.  Perhaps 24 hours, perhaps 48, before a show's plots/developments can be freely discussed without the courtesy of alerting someone who may not have watched the show.

After that time period, everyone would then know to read at their own peril.

Just my 2 cents.

END SPOILER

Too bad BK couldn't have worked "Vinegar" into today's notes.

The daily subject line could have been "Pith and Vinegar".

TOD:  Too hard to choose one....the signature of "Alfred Newman" on a Beverly Hills Hotel registration slip...an autograph of "Erich Wolfgang Korngold"...a windowcard for "Mack and Mabel"...a copy of the LP for "Hello, Dolly!" autographed by Carol Channing and Jerry Herman...signed contracts by Hugo Friedhofer, Alfred Newman and Jerome Moross...

As for the Topic of the Day...

-My copy of the piano/vocal score to Sunday in the Park with George.
-Monkey
-The scarf I bought when I was 15 or 16-years old - mainly because I haven't lost it or left it someplace after all these years.

Oh, and I'm up, have answered a lot of e-mails, printed out a few orders (Cry For Us All was just reviewed favorably on Playbill, and whenever that happens there's suddenly some orders).
