Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the Hills of Beverly, and now it is time for you to post until the Beverly Hills cows come home.

There was once a stripper named Miss Beverly Hills - she gave the Hills of Beverly a whole new meaning.

Busy day. I have two meetings, a dentist appointment (for which I'm taking half a sick day) and then after the dentist I'm going to a goodbye event for someone from our office who is leaving after 20 years. Then tomorrow the fun begins because we go to DC for the weekend.

I was up early to take my car in for servicing. Left it at the garage and then went into the nearby mall for breakfast of fried egg, bacon, sausage and mushroom.  Now hoping that they don't find anything wrong with it.

Good morning, all!  At 9:00 I turned off the lights and went to bed. I did not get 9.5 hours of sleep, unfortunately, because it was a rather unpleasant night of discomfort, but I'm sure I slept at least 7.5 hours.  This morning I see my doctor, and I am guessing there are tests to be taken.

After that, I will head to Toyland for a while and work on ROBERTA. The Man From Philadelphia has not sent the last invoice check, which has me concerned, and he's not responded to my last email. I may need to investigate the situation today.

I finished reading Time and Again, which was quite wonderful. I was amazed, because I had liked the book so much in 1979, that I'd forgotten nearly everything about it in thirty years except for the dismantled Stature of Liberty in Madison Square Park and the leading characters hiding from the police in its arm.  I'm debating what book to take with me today, A Good And Happy Child by Justin Evans, which may be a horror novel, or Collision, a backstage memoir by Ron Bruguiere.

Yipee!! DAVID AND BATHSHEBA have has arrived. The dreaded broken center spindle sydrome struck - every single tooth was broken! I'm used to it though - it doesn't matter how well CDs are packaged - and I keep plenty of spare jewel cases.

TOD

Not my first hamburger but I did find out what Kosher was.

I was at a birthday party. It was a bowling one and afterwards there was hamburgers and hot dogs. I had a hamburger and I requested a glass of milk. One of the other kids said. "Milk and meat! Yuch! That's not Kosher!" When I asked what that meant. She said you're not supposed to eat meat with milk and when I asked why of course she could't give me an answer. I had to wait until I got home to ask my mother what that meant.

OMG the notes!

I was clinging to every word about the Hills of Beverly.  I've got these window cleaners coming soon, and after they're gone, in a few hours, I will post my response.  Also:

(BK):  How long are you here - we simply must have a get-together.

Yes!  I'd intended to post what I know about my itinerary last night, but had to call it a night and leave it for today.  Will get that done this afternoon.

I guess I know one thing I won't be doing while I'm in town:  revisiting the Hills of Beverly.

Oh, just one thing before I sign off for a while --

BK:  Hunter's Books.  Is that the one you couldn't think of?

Martindale's on the north side of Little Santa Monica, Hunter's on the SW corner of LSM and whichever Drive.  If I'm remembering it right.

And Hunter's also had the store in Westwood.

TOD:

My first experience of a hamburger was a Wimpy in about 1963. They started up a chain in the UK in the '50s. I loved those original Wimpys which included fried onions, and a toasted bun. They don't do them like that now - and there aren't many Wimpys left (they are now owned by the business which also runs Burger King).

TOD: I'm sure the first burger I ever had was at home or a church event. I remember realizing as a kid of about 7 or 8 that I had never been to a McDonald's before. We just didn't eat out, and we certainly didn't eat out at places where the food was what Mom prepared at home. What a letdown chain hamburgers were. I remember a few local chains like Burger Chef and Burger Queen, and not liking them.

Favorite toppings: Bacon, egg and avocado. Never ketchup, always mustard and maybe a touch of mayo.
