Ginny I picked up 5 books today I had on hold at the library.  I have them stacked in order of lightest weight to heaviest, beginning with IN DUBLIN'S FAIR CITY.  I finally got FATHER MELANCHOLY'S DAUGHTER and A MOTHER AND TWO DAUGHTERS.  Which of the two do you suggest I read first?  They are both going to be difficult for me to hold.

A Mother and Two Daughters is one of my all-time favorite books, one of the few I've read more than once.  Maybe I'll get out my copy and read it along with you!  Come to think of it, I've also read Father Melancholy's Daughter twice.  It has a sequel, Evensong.

I moved Mother and Two Daughter up two books in the stack, to read after the Molly Murphy book.  That is unless my friend lends me The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest before I begin Mother.  I'm guessing two, tops three days before I'm ready for my next book.  When would you be able to begin Mother?

I think I just went through the Looking Glass.

good afternoon everyone.

BK - sorry you didn't get more attendees.  I am always dismayed at how easily people find excuses to not show up at these kinds of things.  Sheer laziness, I say.

Had a total TV evening tonight. I began with the pilot episode of GLEE. It's quite interesting watching it at the beginning knowing how it would grow over the course of a season.

Will's wife Terri was selfish and obnoxious from the very beginning. I have never liked her, and time has only intensified my loathing of that character.

Then I watched another Tommy and Tuppence episode from PARTNERS IN CRIME. In this one, several people are poisoned first by chocolates and then by their dinner. These are never as interesting, fun, or paced as well as the POIROT hour-long episodes, but they're OK. There is a kind of simplicity to them that's somewhat appealing.

Next came "Catherine Howard" from THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII. Since we're on the Catherine Howard reign on THE TUDORS presently, I thought I'd refresh my memory of how it was handled in this brilliant miniseries. This was the episode that won Keith Michell the Emmy, and I can see why it was chosen over other performances in the series. When she disrobes on her wedding night and his eyes fill with tears in astonishment with her youth and beauty, it is indeed a monumental moment.

Since I had the DVD in the player, I went ahead and watched the first thirty minutes of "Catherine Parr." I'll finish it tomorrow as I cook and eat lunch. I forgot to check to see if the DVR was picking up tonight's CASTLE rerun or not. It is supposed to, but I did forget to check.

DR Cillaliz - I have to keep reminding myself that HHWC is not an acronym for some local housing preservation committee. ;)

LOL, It's HWHC...and he is involved in every local housing preservation committee in town.  I wasn't going to show up today for his neighborhood clean up, but I promised the other neighbors I would and it was a beautiful day, so I went.  I ended up having a very good time. There are some real characters there.  He finally gave me the file of info I need for the project I'm doing for him.  I don't have everything I need but now at least I understand what it is I agreed to do. It's a bigger project than I thought...but it will be interesting to do.

Molly is in Ireland & I'm almost half way through the book.  It is a fast read.

I'm closing everything down up here and heading downstairs to bed. Hopefully, I'll have a better night of it than I had last night.

Good night!

I finally found the key to my safe.  And i figured out why i could not find the replacement key. It was attached to the original!

They key was in the little earring box i had put it in. But i would never have found where it was. I must have just put it down there. Because i never would have hidden it in such a crazy place.

And the only reason i found it was because i was looking for something else i didn't find. Although that thing only costs $1 so i'm not gonna kill myself looking for it (a bathing cap). The only reason i was looking for it is because it matches my bathing suit.

Hi Jose.  For the 2nd day in a row I drove Sherlock to our hiking trails & hiked without Keith's protection from playful dogs.  I also have to occasionally walk Sherlock on the leash.  I guess I'm back. :D

My treasure today was a LC Smith typewriter.  It's got to be early 1900s. It's in bad shape though, real rusty and I don't think it will work.  But the decals are all there and the keys are all there, so I'm going to try to clean it up and use it as a decoration.

I have never had a cast party before the play opens.

You've never done a show with TAO.  I'm just surprised that it took this long to have our first party.
