Good Afternoon!

Well... Since the A Train seemed to be running "local" and "express" this weekend - despite what all the signage in the stations said - I didn't make it to the theatre on time.  My train ran express for the first set of stops, then went local, then stopped altogether for about 20 minutes.  By the time I made it to the stage door of the New Amsterdam, it was already 2:05 - a.k.a. "downbeat".  So...

I guess I really wasn't meant to attend the matinee today after all.  ;)

I shall refrain from doing the Page 8 Page Dance.  It's just a bit too hot and humid right now for strenuous activity.  *And pit blacks - black jeans and black t-shirt - are most definitely not the proper apparel for today's weather.

Derya Ruggles played Robin Jacobs, who was a love interest of Micheal T. Weiss's character, Mike Horton.

Robin's father, Eli Jacobs was played by S. Marc Jordan.

and here is an extremely unoffical Micheal T. Weiss page.

Protocologist - that's going to be my profession in my next life.  It seems like it should be quit lucrative.

Sounds like a stinky job to me.

So... After leaving the New Amsterdam, I headed up to the Golden to see if I could catch up with DR Jason after his walk-up.  We chatted for a bit, then he headed to get a bite to eat, and I headed uptown.

But there's a pretty good bet that food will be involved!  :)

Umm.. Yes.

Levain: Artichoke Heart and Gruyere Thin Crust Pizza, and a Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie.

The Hummus Place:  Hummus Mushrooms (their housemade hummus topped with warm stewed mushrooms), whole wheat pita, pickles, olives and pepperoncini.

I've found that bowl washing goes much easier when I simply put the bowl down on the floor.  I pick it up again five minutes later, and it looks sparkling clean!

This made my think of something I ran across today while purging files from the filing cabinet. (It was filed under cooking!) A parody song one of the puppeteers wrote for a show Greg worked on. As Jason can probably attest, puppeteers are a sick lot!

BOILING CATS AND DOGS (to the tune of "If I Only Had A Brain")

Oh, when hunger makes you stumble
And your stmoach starts to rumble
Just boil some cats and dogs.
Yes, it's extraordinary
(Though it does get kind of hairy)
When you're boiling cats and dogs.

No, there's nothing like some poodles
Stewed up with lots of noodles
Or a steaming mug of pug.
And what diner could be crabby
Eating heaping plates of tabby
After boiling cats and dogs?

Oh gee,
The recipe
Enough for you and me!
And if finding extra portions gets too hard,
Grab something else, from someone's yard!

Try some melon wiht some collie
It'll make you shout "By Golly!"
But it's cat that is low-fat.
You'll reduce all the excess popu-
lation we won't stop you
When you're boiling cats and dogs.

And for Chinese by the platter,
If dark meat doesn't matter,
Try tongue of chow-chow mein.
Though it's better when stir-fyin'
You can really get fur flyin'
When you're boiling cats and dogs.

Just go shopping at the kennel
Get some garlic and some fennel
It's labrador for four!
And the time you'll be savin'
When you start microwavin'
'Stead of boiling cats and dogs!

Though it's really quite delicious...
No one's left to lick the dishes
After boiling cats and dogs!

bk - The Apple Store is located at the southeast corner of Central Park.  You can't miss it.  And it's open 24 hours.

*And I'm so glad you didn't have to take your mouse there to get fixed.  I don't even think they carry batteries there anyway. ;)

However, if you do happen to have some computer-related needs over the next couple of weeks, there is a CompUSA store at 57th & Broadway.  -And they are an authorized Apple reseller too.

I'll probably pay a visit to the Apple Store, just to check it out.  I went into that Hershey's store on Broadway - what a madhouse and how ridiculous it was.

TOD:

This was probably a fine production, but it did nothing for me and I slept through most of it. Of course, it probably didn't help that I had worked in LA the day before, then flown over night to NY to start mixing a film the next morning with very little sleep. The director I was working with slept through it, too, and it was her idea to go!

I'm all unpacked.  I'm playing my Bossa Nova playlist on iTunes - it's amazing how ineffectual the Powerbook internal speakers are.

You can pick up cheap-o external speakers that work pretty good, or one of those speakers you plug your ipod into...

And here I am, posting from the new digs, which are, in a word, FABOO!  A studio that feels like a studio - everything new and shiny with a GREAT river view from the 32nd floor.  The guy who's subletting is a terrific guy, a producer.  I'm near the jogging path at the West Side Highway, so I may partake of that tomorrow morning.  There's a real bed and a nice, big bathroom, a small but clean and nice kitchen, closet space, a big desk for my computer, a plasma TV and at least I shall be very comfortable for the next five weeks.  24 hour doorman, too.

What ever happened to "suffering for your art"?

I watched another HEROES episode. This was the one that went back six months in time and caught us up with all the protagonists. It was our first view of Sylar when he first got the idea for his mad scheme to make himself special.
