Today was the last day that the Palmer Candy Company's Old Candy Store was open. So of course I HAD to go and buy several pounds of candy....the funny thing is I never go there and their new candy shop will be opening soon...but it was the last day so I had to do my part

My first car, a 1968 Rambler American had an axiomatic transmission and vacuum wipers.  :D

Yup! that's the place. I bought some malted milk balls, their version of a heath bar and their version of a butterfinger.  They are all in bulk.  I put the toffee and butterfinger bites in the freezer.   I've already had more of the malted milk balls than I should....but I did exert myself a lot cleaning the garage.  ;D

Does than mean that the fuel was icecream?

I think Vacuum wipers are German snakes - when they strike no-one hears you scream. (or I scream for that matter)

I think I should go back to being Iron man - my major task of the day.

Back when AMC was kind of like TCM, I wrote a long letter to Bob Dorian (remember him?) after they aired Toast of New York and Come and Get It.  I listed all of Frances Farmer's films and who held the rights, etc., and urged him/them to air more of her work.  I got a back a very nicely typed auto-reply informing me that as soon as more of his films became available, Francis Farmer was sure to be seen on AMC.  I think that's when the lustre lost a little for me.   ;D

BK-I just ordered the Bossa Nova CD from Amazon,

Am now listening to a wonderful CD- The Enchantment-Chick Corea and Bela Fleck. They do a cover of BRAZIL . Does anyone know of a vocal recording of the song Brazil?

Our friends the Deluxe Vaudeville Orchestra recorded it. I did a short documentary about them; they're a lot of fun. Here's the link:
http://home.earthlink.net/~deluxevaudeville/pages/cd.html
It's on the "Nothing Up Our Sleeve" album.

Must be one BIG house!

Of course BK was in the Slammer so I should not be surprised about a post form the Big House.

Bob Dorian was (is/) a Long Island boy... while he was still enjoying his AMC fame he starred in a local production of Dracula in which a good friend of mine also had a part.

boy that was a badly mangled sentence .Where's Rodzinski when you need  him?

He was 'OK"  in the role,  clearly he had been cast because of his name and then current fame.

AMC  used to be a staple in our house as well  back when the films were uncut and commercial free and the films were actual classics .. not Porky's II

And what did you have for supper/dinner BK?

The DVO, which I mentioned a few posts ago, also has recorded "Perfidia", on that same CD, I think.
