Well, you've read the notes, the notes were divoon, and now it is time for you to post until the divoon cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GRANDILOQUENT!

Had a great time at dinner even though the restaurant was very noisy. Some sound dampening would help immensely. Terrific waiter. We started with an appetizer platter that had naan bread, truffle butter, whipped lardo, chicken liver mousse, salmon roe, ossetra caviar. I had rigatoni with basil, pistachio and parmesan. My brother had quail with lentils, my sister-in-law had black cod, and my nephew had scallops. Of course, we all had share bites and everything was delish ( and expensive). For dessert, I had blood orange pavlova, s-i-l had a toasted oat cobbler with cinnamon ice cream, my nephew had riz au lait (rice pudding) and my adventurous brother had a scoop of chocolate ice cream. The restaurant gifted the anniversary couple with a dish of ice cream with a candle.
They also have a 3.5 pound tomahawk steak for $185. We opted out.

Glad you all enjoyed the dinner, jan!

Oh, and I'm home.
-
Last night's Bunbury was very good! We had almost a full audience and they definitely really enjoyed it.
-
After the show, a few of us went out again and chatted (and some people ate) and had a good time. We didn't leave until after midnight-thirty, and then I had to feed my cat and take my meds. Now that that's happened, I'm in my bed and watching TV, waiting to go to sleep.
-
But before I do, I need to ketchup on last night's posts.
-
I have now read all of yesterday's posts.
-
Today, we have the final performance of Bunbury. It was a great run. The strike after the show shouldn't take too long. The set is pretty simple. After strike, I'm off to my parents' for our weekly family dinner. When I get back home, I should have time to do a load or two of laundry before it's too late.
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I must be up at 6:00 tomorrow morning to get to the recording studio by 8:45, so I thought i'd better stay up this morning and get to bed early.
-
Annabelle and Thatch will not be happy tomorrow, since the three sessions will run to 7:00 tomorrow night, and I doubt I'll be home before 8:00. I will leave them plenty of dry food and treats and feed them some Fancy Feast when I get home.
-
I may need to help Joshie today, so I'm not planning any kind of a day till I hear from him. I'll work on my choral piece and putter around the apartment.
-
Yes DR TCB I was sound asleep. I woke up at 11:30, fell back to sleep and stayed that way until 3:30.
-
DR Jan looking at photos of the restaurant I expected the acustics to be bad and the place to be noisy. I am sorry to be correct.
-
I am pleased you enjoyed the meal and evening with your family.
-
DR George enjoy your last evening of the show.
-
Bruce have a great time at the paperback book show!

Good morning, all.

Tech Sunday has arrived.
I don't have to go in till 4:00 pm or so, when they're on their pizza hour. I'll enjoy a slice or two, then we have to adjust our remote pit setup to accommodate the second percussionist and pit singers. Then we run the show starting hopefully at 6:00. Pray for that famous baby.
-
Book show & signing vibes for BK.
-
Recording prep vibes for DR Elmore.
-
Getting through the day vibes for the likes of me. I think I must have been awakened by annoying dreams three or four times through the night. Maybe I can grab a nap later.
-
Book signing vibes for MR BK.
Closing show vibes for DR GEORGE.
Recording prep vibes DR ELMORE.

DR jan's evening sounds like a lot of fun and food.

I, too, love WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER? even though Tony Randall irritates me more than he entertains me.....
Coincidentally I began watching a mystery film on TCM last night called THE ALPHABET MURDERS starring the aforementioned irritant Mr TR.
It is an English film made in England with that man as Hercule Poirot....it opened rather cleverly.....and as the credits went by, I noticed that it, too, was directed by Mr Frank Tashlin.
There were some clever sight gags, but I was done about 10 minutes in.....
-
I first saw RH on Frances Farmer Presents, and she seemed to like the movie, too....and made several comments on the parodies of television ads. I do not remember that she mentioned Randall or Mansfield in any particular way.
-
Recording vibes for Elmore.
Ditto!

Good morning!

I decided to make a last-minute trip to NYC. I was able to use points for a free Amtrak ride and I got a great hotel rate. The main reason for going is to see a Gershwin tribute at 54 Below with George Dvorsky, Klea Blackhurst and DR elmore's friend Rebecca Luker.
-
Just arriving in Newark New Jersey.
-
Joshie just called. I am not going in.
He's finishing up at City Center and running home. He has two final performances of I Married an Angel, collecting the orchestra parts after the show, and delivering the recording orchestra parts and scores to the studio for tomorrow for the rest of his day. He's amazing. No one who does orchestra library work knows how really involved it is.

George and Klea are both friends as well.
-
Never did it myself, but I was always fascinated with orchestra library work.
-
Which also reminds me...
One of the high school kids I worked with in Norwalk CT just got a copyist job at Music Theatre International.

My Pastor gave an outstanding sermon this morning, half of us were in tears and there was a spontaneous standing ovation at the end...

we don't normally, well EVER, applaud sermons

Someone posted that Larry Cohen just died. Trying to get more information.

Good afternoon to all.
-
Saw a concert version of Paint your wagon. They used the Touring version of the show. The score and a full orchestra was beautiful to listen to. But the book is absolutely deadly. No way you could have he paint your wagon on Broadway again. Too many subplots and characters who come and go. It was 3 hours with intermission.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! After 2 up-and-outta-here mornings, I took it very easy today. Saw everybody off to church, read the paper and did the crossword and finally got showered and dressed before Richard came home. I've been at my desk since lunch, paying bills and such. Maybe I'll craft a bit...
-
Tech vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I am still horrified at DR VIX MOM's inner web experience.
-
DR VIX MOM what was the subject of said sermon that earned the response?

Back from the signing. I was next to a really popular sci-fi author, Tim Powers, so very few could even see I was sitting there, but dear occasional reader Leslie and daughters Alexa and Mia came by and a real surprise was Peyton Kirkner and the entire family. Grant was there of course, and it was fun. I checked out some dealers I know, including one guy who always has very interesting stuff. Well, he just moved his West LA store to La Cienega, literally five blocks from where I lived. What are the odds of THAT. So, he asked me if I'd do a reading/signing there and I said absolutely. So, it looks like we can have a signing for the new book and I'll bring the Kritzer books, since they're all set in that exact location.
-
I'll write about Larry Cohen in tomorrow's notes.

Bruce, condolences on the passing of Larry Cohen.

Well, Bunbury is officially done! It really is a very good show! Highly recommended!

And now, strike! Then, off to my parents.
Until later!

Has anyone, TCB, been following the evacuation of the cruise ship that lost all 4 of its engines in the middle of a storm?
-
Could someone please buy me a winning lottery ticket for the now-$750 million jackpot? Pretty please?
Would you take one that wins $50?
Someone in our building once really was a\ winner in a $2-million lottery, but just won $50.
-
Bruce, condolences on the passing of Larry Cohen.
I just read about that, Condolences from us, too. That feels young these days somehow.
-
Great news about the signing!
-
DR JANE I read about the cruise ship....scary......
-
Good evening.
-
Today we saw the tour of "The Play That Goes Wrong." We really enjoyed it.

DR JANE I read about the cruise ship....scary......
Yup. I didn't like reading about the 3 people with serious breaks. At least everyone is on shore now so that part is over. I wonder how they will get their belongings.
-
Good evening.
A new photo of your cutie :)
-
Today we saw the tour of "The Play That Goes Wrong." We really enjoyed it.
I don't believe I ever saw your response to who the girls were, soooo..... Who are the "We" that saw the play?
-
My daughter and I.
-
Great photo, DR Laura.
-
Watching The Grissom Gang. It's nowhere near the same league as No Orchids for Miss Blandish. Kim Darby is not a good performer. But Irene Dailey, whom I used to watch on Another World, is wonderfully evil.
-
THere's an hour left and they seem to have run out of plot.
-
Gratuitous Post No. 100!
-
That is a really great photo, Laura!
-
We had our tickets to see MARYS SEACOLE
https://www.lct.org/shows/marys-seacole/
at Lincoln Center Theater this afternoon. I'm starting to really like the 90 to 100 mine, no intermission play, assuming the artists can get their whole vision out that way.
I have no tickets until seeing the wonderful dear Maureen Silliman as THE BELLE OF AMHERST soon after April 15th. I'd love to try to see TOOTSIE, but finding any good matinee seats at a discount.
-
Watching the final episode of Paranoid.
-
So, they ran out of the plot and they let Connie Stevens take over, which is fine with me. She sang and is now doing her dizzy routine.
-
Much blood and violence later, the movie has finally come to an end with a fade out of "I Can't Give You Anything But Love."
-
Good night, all.
-
My daughter and I.
Thanks.
-
Finished Paranoid, and watched one episode of something called Aquarius from four years ago,I think - about Manson but not really, since the writer thinks it's okay to just make up stuff - and is proud of it. I can't imagine this thing did well, but it's two seasons.
-
Jack, it's hard to encapsulate the sermon in a few sentences, he usually preaches for about 10 minutes, this one was probably twice as long and there was rapt silence throughout.
-
The main thrust was about trying to be our best selves each day, not perfect people but the best we are able to be. Throughout he kept talking about a local homeless guy he has been trying to help for the past 8 years, admitting there were times when he was so sure the guy couldn't or wouldn't accept help that he gave up trying, even to the point of hiding inside when the guy came around, justifying it as not wasting time better spent on more fruitful endeavors. But kept feeling called to try and help. He had a very small victory Friday night when the guy finally entered our shelter, took a shower for the first time in years, accepted and put on clean clothes and had a meal.

Hi, George.

Is everybody aware of the avocado recall?
-
I hope George is having fun at his cast party
We didn't have a cast party today.
-
We had strike and cleared out the theater, then I went to my parents' house for dinner.
-

So you all just went home after strike?
-
We're actually going to have a final cast party next Saturday.

Yes, I have been following all of the info since yesterday.

I didn't...but then I don't like avocados, so I don't care.

Vixmom, why are you up so late??
-

I haven’t heard about it.

Every time I start to think a cruise might be fun there is some story about diseases, crashes, pirates or other catastrophes that makes me think maybe not so much fun after all
-
I guess I will have to give up guacamole.
-
Every time I start to think a cruise might be fun there is some story about diseases, crashes, pirates or other catastrophes that makes me think maybe not so much fun after all
Those things are all very rare considering how many cruises there are each year.

Henry Avocado has announced a voluntary recall of avocados in six states following the discovery of listeria in the company’s California facility, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall applies to all shipments from the California packing facility that the company began using in January. This includes avocados shipped to California, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
The recalled avocados are identifiable by yellow stickers reading “Bravacado” and “California” and, in the case of the organic avocados, yellow and green stickers reading “Organic” and “California,” according to the FDA.
Avocados the company imports from Mexico are unaffected by the recall. The agency took the unusual step of issuing a recall notice on a Saturday to inform consumers of the recall. The agency has previously issued Saturday notices in 2017 when Pinnacle Foods recalled all Aunt Jemima frozen breakfast food products after discovering listeria and after a 2018 shell egg recall during a salmonella outbreak, according to the Miami Herald.
Listeria monoyctogenes can cause serious or fatal infections in children, frail or elderly, or immunocompromised people, as well as miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women, according to the FDA.
“We are voluntarily recalling our products and taking every action possible to ensure the safety of consumers who eat our avocados,” Phil Henry, President of Henry Avocado, said in the FDA statement.
