Good morning, all! I took two Tylenol PM and could not tear myself from bed this morning: 11 hours, which is way too long. Also, another weird dream: an epic production of CANDIDE that lasted longer than a Wagnerian opera at Radio City in Oxford, OH.
I asked last night about the producer of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN because I do not like her; when she produced THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE, composer Jeffrey Stock wanted me to do the orchestrations, and Ms Lion, who did everything possible to keep Jeffrey under her thumb, made horrible comments about my work and my resume ("we don't want that little Goodspeed sound"), refused to meet me or communicate with me. And you know what? Bruce Coughlin gave her a nice little Goodspeed sound for the score after they sacked the two previous orchestrators. I do do not like her nor do I wish her anything good.
DR Ginny, it sounds to me from your comments as if this weekend John is going off life support and I am
so sorry to hear this. He was a good man, always a friend to me, and I have nothing but good wishes and sympathy to offer you, Richard, and the rest of the family. I've known him for 40 years, admired his good deeds and musicianship, and been lucky to consider him a friend. This is very sad.
DR JMK, it's nice to end this post on a happier note: I hope the bar mitzvah is a fantastic event and runs smoother than some of your PRODUCERS performances.
