After work I went to the DMV, then sped up I-5 to Wilsonville where I shopped for DVDs and CDs...came back with a nice bunch of oddities and things...am now listening to a cd by YURI MRAKADI who I think may become my next favorite current singer!

I almost bought this Mexican DVD......

but changed my mind when I realized it had no English sub-titles...but I can't help thinking it would have  been a fun movie to see!

I've just been listening to the original cast recording of OKLAHOMA on WMKV.  In this recording they have Alfred Drake sing A LONELY ROOM.  Now I can understand the obvious advantages to having Drake sing this haunting, chilling song over Howard DaSilva...but it is Jud's song.  Now when I played Jud years ago, we cut the song...But I can't think that they'd cut it from the original production...So I'm assuming Da Silva did sing it, why didn't he get to on the cast album?  Anyone know?

DRPogue, it's my guess - and ony a guess - that it was felt Howard Da Silva's singing voice wasn't a voice to commit to disc.   When the original OKLAHOMA! 78s were released on LP, LONELY ROOM wasn't included.  I don't recall ever hearing the song until I heard the Nelson Eddy/Kaye Ballard recording in college.  It's a really good recording of OKLAHOMA!

DR Jane there are very few low-cut gowns that can't be helped with a turtle neck sweater - depending upon the wearer, of course.

LOL-from undergarment to turtle neck sweater.

Don't leave it bandaged for long periods.  When it's feasible, such as during your sleeping hours, remove the bandage.  Air is a wonderful healer and it will minimize the chance of moisture aiding any germs that might linger around the cut.

DO place a fresh bandage on it daily until you're certain the cut is healing.

Sorry Ron I disagree with you, at least until it begins to close and stay closed.

The nurse said that i should bandage it today and then not remove it for a day or two.  She said playing with it, taking off bandages ... would just give it more opportunity to start bleeding again.  Do you think what she advised was wrong?

Always wise to believe the nurse, I think.  And if not the nurse, then certainly believe DR Jane!!!

Evening all.

That's ok about the bird, DR Jane.  I guess that kind of think happens.  I didn't see anything wrong with it when I took it down to bury it.  I guess it was just it's time.

Thank you for explaining about where the book store is from The Muse, DR's Jose and Ben.  I did a copy/paste of the address/phone number to put in my PDA.

I wouldn't mind walking.  You know I get off the bus at least five blocks away from work so I get some exersize.  Lately, I've been getting off no mater how cold it is so I can get used to the cold weather as well.  NYC training as a just in case!  ;) :D

I'm glad that DR Jennifer's finger is doing ok.  I was really worried when I read the earlier posts.  Of course, by the time I get here, the crisis is over (I’m not saying that is a bad thing) and the problem is solved.

We were in the forties for most of the day today.  Burrr.  I was so glad I was wise enough to take my coat with me.  So many people didn’t and I bet they get really ill from the chill I know they had.

We had the President in town again today.  We watched from our windows as he passed by.  Yawn.  As far as I was/am concerned the only thing he did was hold up traffic.

Humm, I would have to say there is a case for both sides.  I have heard that air is very good for a wound to help it heal but if it is a bad wound, it should stay wrapped up for a day or two.

I guess one would have see how the wound is doing.  If it gets all gooey (nasty, I know) I would think air would be good for it.  Sometimes the bandage keeps it to moist.

I had to modify this.  It didn't make sense when I reread it.

If it stays wrapped, you have to keep it dry!  Isn't that right, Nurse Jane?

I received an e-mail from Amazon.com com that The Sea Hawk is being released to DVD on April 19, 2005.  Didn't someone say that and few other Errol Flynn movies would be in a boxed set?

If not, I am going to order it.   :D

Which is (in my case anyway) very hard to do.  I'm forever washing my hands and I can't stop to change a bandaid every time.   :(  It's easier to let the air heal it.

I'm sure amazon has it listed now.  Just search Errol Flynn.

I'm now thinking about going to Gelson's and getting a nice steak to broil and some salad to have with it.  Doesn't that sound yummilicious?

No.  But, you said it had stopped bleeding, and that was a while before you went to the nurse.

Still...always follow medical advice as given by professionals.

Oh, great....the discussion is all about pizza and cuts...and toppings...and whether a wound is gooey.

Or was that the cheese?????

DR. Elmoore:

Saw Ben Bagley's thank you to you, "Larry Moore of the ***** ****** for his expert music copying

and he also thanked Treat Williams. What was his relationship with Ben.

He also thanked Jean Seberg and the late and great Brenda Vacarro. Did he get who died mixed up?

And what is Dennis Deal doing these days? (His headshot makes him look like Chuck Norris)

I've just been listening to the original cast recording of OKLAHOMA on WMKV.

I can connect but I don't hear anything lately.  Does the station go off the air for stretches at a time?  Do you just click "ON AIR"?  I then go to Windows Media and it should play.  It use to.

BTW did you pick up on who I walked with yesterday?  Someone I like more each time I see her.  :D
