Well, you've read the notes, the notes revisited The Faculty, and now it is time for you to post until the revisited cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: COETANEOUS!
-
It's 5:30am...and now I'm going back to bed.
Just thought I'd let you know the time.
-
Good morning to all from Montreal
-
Can't wait to see THE FACULTY: THE MUSICAL
-
Had a fun ride today on the new London cable car which goes high over the River Thames.
-
Got to be up early tomorrow to get to the airport for the flight to Vienna.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Good morning, all! Once again, I slept quite poorly - I've been trying to analyze the reasons I was so restless but I'm finding no answers - but I am up, dressed, on my second cup of coffee, and about to move the laundry from the washers to dryers. When the laundry is finished, I plan to head down to Toyland, get as far as I can through the last Ballet ballad proof, and hopefully work a bit on the Appalachian Christmas piece.
BK, I always liked THE FACULTY, and I still remember my surprise at seeing your credit. I'm glad you had a good time last night.
-
Good morning, all.
Travel vibes for all.
Looks like we might get some more rain here. And it's still cool. Very strange that.
-
Congrats on the posting milestone, BK.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'll be meeting my godmother in about an hour for the first time in 20+ years.
-
In the meantime... I may head down to the lobby to get a cup of coffee. I slept rather well last night, but I can tell that I spent a good chunk of yesterday riding around on my bike.
-
Good morning to all from Montreal
Bonjour!
-
And...
That's about all I got for now.
Laters...
-
DR ELMORE it's that new moon coming up this week.
Have a nice lunch with your relatives DR JOSE.
-
Sounds like THE FACULTY screening was most enjoyable.....
Our energy was a bit low last night on SEE HOW THEY RUN.....and the audience wasn't quite as vocal as they were on Friday night......but we have four performances left......so hopefully we can have some more GREAT performances with GREAT audiences.
-
L'Shanah Tovah!
-
I would be most interested in seeing the MOS (without sound, I think) tests for HARLOW....this must be the Bill Sargent version, as Miss Carroll Baker was on the other project from the git go.
Tom Lisanti in his lively book DUELING HARLOWS says that Sargent tested/read - among others - Dorothy Provine, Barbara Loden, Jill St John, and another "unknown" actress, which may have been Leslie Parrish, although she was hardly unknown.
Provine had the inside track until Sargent and/or the distributors decided her name wasn't a big enough draw and dumped her....Sargent paid her $25,000 to NOT make the picture....and she moved on. Sargent says he dropped her because she wasn't sympathetic enough to have an audience care if she dropped dead onscreen.

Travel vibes for DR DOUG R.

Tonight I have my first blocking rehearsal for THE CRUCIBLE.

Greetings from Toyland!

Travel vibes for DR DOUG R.
Thank you Jrand62! Looks like the weather is good anyway.

Is this what

Someone asked yesterday and it was never answered so I looked around and found this. I don't know if it's correct but it makes sense.

It's another beautiful day in Manhattan. We were out earlier after breakfast running a couple of errands and now Anthony is working on a new miniature theatre given to him by our friend who bought it in London.
We will have chicken breasts, wild rice and mixed vegetables for dinner and vanilla pudding for dessert. I don't know if I'll ride the bike before dinner or after.
We watched Mati Hari last night. L. Barrymore was a bit over the top but Garbo and Navarro were wonderful.

And The Song Of The Day Is: SYNCOPATED CLOCK

I'm back from brunch with my Auntie Ronnie and her husband, Bruce...
My godmother is soooooo COOL!!!
:)
-
And now...
Since it's another beautiful day here in Boston, I'm gonna head out on my bike again for a few hours.
Laters...
-
*And, seriously, I'm so glad that I was able to meet up with my Auntie Ronnie and Bruce. We had a great time catching up, and since Bruce is a very fine pianist, we also had a bunch of things to discuss too. And I need to make sure to give them more notice before the next time I come up. It would be nice to see their house in Brookline again, as well as their place out on Gloucester. It truly was a very happy reunion. :)
-
Congrats to MR BK on his plateau.
That was interesting DR BEN.
I thought MOS in film meant Without Sound.....abbreviated MOS because of some German connection that was spoken as Mit Out Sound.

BK, is this a rehearsal of the concerrt version of TITANIC? I had read that the concert was going to be on September 30.

For Free-For-All Discussion:
What actor and / or actress do you think should have won an Academy Award, but didn't win? The performer and the film.
Actress: Judy Garland: A STAR IS BORN or JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG
Actor: Bobby Darin: CAPTAIN NEWMAN, M.D.

Is THE CRUCIBLE the final show of the season?

;D Emphasis should have been on the HIGH. They don't refer to it as a "flight" without good reason :)

From DR MBarnum:
I finished a very enjoyable, if campy, Bollywood Tarzan film titled JUNGLE LOVE (1990) starring Rocky, Kirti Singh and Disco Shanti.
Cool movie poster!

Off the top of my head, Michael Cain for "Sleuth". I'm sure there are others.

Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from Lima, where there was a Vestry meeting after the coffee hour after church. While the meeting was going on I cleaned up the kitchen and visited with one of our elderly parishioners whose daughter is on the committee. Lunch at Panera.

The Titanic staged reading is tomorrow night at Musical Theatre Guild in Glendale.
-
Had our little work session, then went to Casa Vega - man is that food good.

TCB's TOD:
Peter O'Toole -- Take your choice, "Lawrence of Arabia" or "The Stunt Man"
Anybody but Dustin Hoffman for "The Rain Man" (That would be Tom Hanks for "Big," Gene Hackman for "Mississippi Burning," Max Von Sydow for "Pelle the Conqueror" or Edward James Olmos for "Stand and Deliver")

DR TCB - THE CRUCIBLE is not part of the PCPH line up. It is part of the celebration of the 175th Anniversary of DePauw University...and some have been invited back to participate.
I don't know how I rated mention in the linked article, but there I am in the first paragraph.

Tonight we are blocking in Kerr Theater.....INTO THE WOODS is rehearsing in Moore Theater, where we will eventually perform....and which I have not been inside of since way back in the 20th century....
I have now had to modify this post FOUR times because of my terrible typing and grammar. :D

I am back and very tired, but with a great couple of days behind me.
On Friday I was pleased to discover upon checking in at the quaint Howe Caverns Motel that I was able to connect to their wi-fi effortlessly. And then I was shocked, shocked, to discover that, once connected, I could not go anywhere on the Internet. No DNS or something. Apparently they've had this problem, intermittently, "for some time". Oy!
So, a forced couple of days as on another planet, but things were busy enough that, on my end, I was probably better off for it. Nevertheless, sorry for being involuntarily E&T.

BK - No, not in L.A. I saw that LUV at the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami. We were living in Fort Lauderdale during the 1960s and I occasionally took the bus (Greyhound variety) down there to see a few things.

And I am home from Toyland. I finished proofing the BALLET BALLADS and wrote an arrangement of the "Kentucky Wassail" for the Christmas show. The Man from Philadelphia iscoming in tomorrow. I hope the meeting isn't too tense. Or intense.
-
Just finished "The Deep Blue Sea." Not exactly the cheeriest movie on the block, but the Samuel Barber music used as the score was wonderful, so were the performances. I really got sucked into the story, too.

Good Evening!
Well... I had intended to take a ride around the Charles River Basin when I headed out earlier, but then I received and invitation from the owner/founder of Toscanini's Ice Cream (http://www.tosci.com/#/), Gus Rancantore, to come pay a visit to the store and him. :)
-
Just finished "The Deep Blue Sea." Not exactly the cheeriest movie on the block, but the Samuel Barber music used as the score was wonderful, so were the performances. I really got sucked into the story, too.
Was this the Thomas Jane movie or the Rattigan play? I am exhausted. I may be in bed in another thirty minutes!
-
So... I biked back into Cambridge to Toscanini's, and met up with Gus. He gave me a couple of samples as well as a "backstage" tour of their operation. I even got to try some flavors that had just been developed and were "ripening" up. He then tipped me off to a coffee place nearby, dwelltime (http://dwelltimecambridge.com), which I then went to for a latte and some cookies. :)
All in all, it was a great visit to "The Best Ice Cream In The World" (at least according to the New York Times). :)
-
And then I got back on my bike and biked along the Charles River... Crossed one bridge... Crossed back across another... Then looped around once again before settling on one of the small docks on the Boston side of the river where I watched the sun set over Cambridge. -Beautiful!
-
And in a little while, I will head back into Cambridge via the "T" to have a late dinner at Craigie On Main (http://www.craigieonmain.com/?page_id=1206). At 9:00pm on Sundays, the dinner menu is "Chef's Whim". I'm excited! ;)

TCB, totally right - their incessant Facebook posts made it seem like it was happening in the immediate. So, yes, a week from tomorrow. But it looks like I've cast one more gal, and we have an offer out to another.
-
Just being lazy. Was watching something and fell asleep for a bit.
-
"Das Rheingold" was on PBS today. They're going to show all four Wagner operas over the next four weekends. I'm going to see if I can record all four...I've never seen any of them. Not that I'm necessarily going to watch them anytime soon, but it'll be nice to have them. :)
-
I'm burning it to my DVD burner, but I have to go out and do some shopping.
Until later.

Happy New Year, y'all!
Did I miss someone doing the joke:
You know, for weeks, I'll forget and keep on dating my checks 5772
-
Jane, thought of you tonight as I made a great vegan dish of charred tomatoes and garlic. So good I couldn't stop eating them. Of course, I also took half of the tomatoes and add cheese on top, which isn't vegan, I realize, but it was quite delicious. And easy to make.

Looks yummy too. :)

Since it is my niece's birthday tomorrow we had our New Year's dinner tonight.
We had one of my favorite soups. Bean and barley soup with meat in it. We never get meat in it (because one person does not eat meat). But there was also a pot without meat.
Yummy!
Only problem is i was too full for dessert!

Happy Jewish New Year!
-
Went to watch kids play miniature golf today. Had to race around because there were 3 groups of kids. And they all seemed to need instructions (who should go first each time, when to hit their balls...).
And I took pictures (it was my niece's birthday party). It was hard to see how they were coming out at the time since it was very sunny and a little windy.
-

I guess "The Deep Blue Sea" wasn't solemn enough. I'm now watching "United 93." Intense. I had refused to watch anything 9/11 after it happened. I don't know how I'm going to take the last hour.

Five!

Those tomatoes do look yummy!

My legs are hurting today. But I think it is from standing in line at the book signing yesterday for 4 hours.
-
Well I didn't stand in line for 4 hours. That included waiting before it started, standing thru the talks they gave, and talking and waiting in line (well 3.5 hours).
-
I learned some interesting things there about avid book readers. A bunch of them have no interest in ereaders (well they haven't tried them to know). But they were against getting/using them.
It's funny but before i got my kindle i didn't think i'd love it. And now i cannot even imagine not having it.

Sorry to hear about your lack of invited for tonight, Perhaps people thought that you were invited somewhere and that's why you were not invited. If you were in Montreal you would have been welcomed to be part of our family's celebration.

Good Evening!
My "Chef's Whim" meal at Craigie On Main was incredibly delicious. I opted for the 6-course option, and the bartender, Jared, even treated me to a nice pour of Sauternes and their housemade Milk Punch. :)
-
And after having "Roald's Traveler" (peach shrub, bourbon, honey, orange, nutmeg), a 20th Century and the Sauternes and Milk Punch, well...
;)
Goodnight.

Taylor and I had a great time at MEMPHIS. Great costumes and dancing!
We were able to meet some of the cast afterwards and one of the guys told me to friend him on Facebook, which I have now done.

Now I am exhausted. Off to bed for me! Nytol!

That's great, Mike! You know that the original Broadway production was filmed and released on DVD & Blu-ray...you could get that and relive all the memories (just not with the cast that you saw). :D

Arrived at the airport early to avoid the rush hour traffic. Just had breakfast of bacon and egg with my sister. Now waiting for my brother and niece to arrive.
