I'm at home (I took the day off) and, regarding the official Topic of the Day:  nothing in anything because I'm really going to start moving stuff today!  My sister wants to start painting, so that'll be happening, too.  Also, sometime today cable is being turned off at the house I'm moving out of, and since I get Internet through cable, I will also have to move my computer today, which means I don't know when I'll be back.

Until later!  (I hope.)

Speaking of cell blocks, I need to visit a client before a hearing this afternoon...laters

I just had one of those patrons here in the library who said he'd been "away" for a while - uh HUH.

Very cool, PennyO! My, times have changed since I was in school and you would be expelled for showing off your Jewish Thighs!

She is actually quite shy showing off her Jewish Thighs:

She is a bit more brazen top-side:

Re bk's t'other day comment:

Quote
I sent out a mass e-mail about the new book to all my "friends" - about 170, via Constant Contact.  Of the 170, only 98 actually opened the e-mail.  Of the 98 only 16 actually clicked through to the book website.  Of the 16 who clicked through exactly 0 purchased the book and I'm sad to say that includes a few dear readers.  Which begs the Ask BK Day question: How come?

A. Some ISPs (like my AOL) disable web hot links in EMails, renering direwct click-thrus inoperative.

B. Some of us (me) have ordered merchandise PRIOR to receiving the Eamil.

C. Others of us (me, again) read the Eamil, but then use the hot-links posted in the daily thread to order.

D. Others of us (yeah, me again) may need personal prompting - I actually want to read "Rewind".

Okay, musicologists - here's the question of the day that needs answering and answering quickly -

What song is the following lyric from:

Give me a man that'll come and bake me a cake
Yes, he can put it in my oven any ol' time and watch it rise on up
Give me a man that'll come and mow my lawn from the front to back
Yes, he can tend my garden any ol' time and watch it rise on up

A woman needs a handyman to take care of her home
A woman needs a candyman who'll fight the bees for the comb

How about "Mallet Man"  (piano mallets, that is...)

"Keys" Larsen, edi; they're piano keys!

I know! It never really occurred to me until I was in the middle of talking to him and thought "Wow! You're adorable!" and then was immediately embarrased. He seemed smaller and softer in person...a very gentle and sweet man.

I'm happy to hear that.  I hope they can fix MONK since the season toppled badly last year.   The finale was godawful.

It sounds like an inaccurate version of "My Handy Man"

"Keys" Larsen, edi; they're piano keys!

From :THE ANATOMY OF A PIANO

HAMMER: A felt-covered wooden mallet that strikes a string to produce a note when a key is touched.

I thought mallet sounded more...threatening. (I don't know most of these folks' real names!)

How about "Petty Larseny"? What do you think, Lar?

Oh, no!  I haven't seen this season at all! I'm sorry to hear that! I liked his old sidekick, Bitty Schram---I miss her!

I watched a few episodes last season and loved the finale last year.

MORE PROJECT RUNWAY SPOILERS

Either the NY Post or the Daily News today had a blurb about Laura causing trouble on last week's episode.  I've always thought she was a catty bitch from the first episodes, and I wouldn't turn my back on her.  Jeffrey's home environment, with only one kid and the girlfriend with a mohawk to keep an eye on him, seems much quieter than Laura's house full of screaming kids.  He's been so honest about his drug usage and personal problems and how far he's come that I can't believe he wouldn't be honest about the charges.

Bitty got greedy....and lost her role as a result.  And where is she now?

I don't see her name on any of the new shows.

I like the new girl well enough but - FOR PITY'S SAKE -- they need to stop ruining the flow of each show with the quirky Monkisms that just don't work very well any more.  Yes, he's a quirky, odd duck.  But the gags w/Shalhoub being fussy just lay eggs, IMO.
