Morning All!   Happy Labor Day to everyone.  The new edition of The Broadway Radio Show is up for your listening enjoyment.  We honor Sandy Wilson, who passed away at age 90 last week, by jumping back into our archives for a show originally aired in August of 2005 where we featured the score of The Boy Friend using 4 different cast recordings.  It's great to hear Wilson's charming score once again!  ENJOY!

TOD:

How do you mean adult? With sex? Might have been The Godfather or Summer of '42, both of which I read in think in the summer between sixth and seventh grade. A next door neighbor lent me those plus The Exorcist and a few others with the understanding that my mother was not supposed to know. She didn't.

Or just a non-kids book? I read most of Agatha Christie and Earl Stanley Gardner in the fifth grade.

Made a bacon and onion pie for brunch this morning. Smells good. Hope it tastes good.

I think George summed up the posting problems well. There is about half the time a lag of more than a minute on Firefox and then sometimes the connection is dropped, so the post is deleted.

I got up early and started laundry.  Last load is in the washer and should be done soon so I may be done by noon. That's a treat.   I also cleaned up the kitchen and made breakfast.

When I'm mad and want to burn off energy I do no mow, I walk and talk to myself and say all the things I need to say privately.

Since my sister passed away I rarely talk to myself as I walk.

Labor Day morning greetings!  We'll leave the house about noon for the Cincinnati airport for our 4pm flight to Paris.  The housemates are having company for dinner.

They didn't wait for you to be gone long ;)

I like to mow so I can say all the things I'd like to say out loud. I just have to be sure not to talk over the mower, lol

Certainly you are less likely to be heard over a mower than I am when walking.  At least in the country there usually aren't people around.  On the other hand sound really carries.

TOD:

Probably The Fountainhead when I was in the 7th grade.....and then Tales of the Arabian Nights....which had some of "those kind" of parts in both volumes.  When I went to check it out again in the 9th grade....it was restricted and could not leave the library....it had to be read there....so I didn't bother.

First adult book I bought was probably THE CARPETBAGGERS when I was 14, after I saw the movie....."THIS IS ADULT ENTERTAINMENT"

I laughed when I saw the tagline.....It is unlikely you will experience in a lifetime ALL that you will see in THE CARPETBAGGERS....

But I am 64.....and it is unlikely that I will.....

Thank you, she's been quite a character the past couple days.  Right now she is perched on top of her scratching post, just sitting there

I don't remember what my first adult book was.  I remember my mother being concerned and my sister telling her if my mother took it away I would be more interesting, and not to worry because I probably wouldn't understand half of it anyway.  My sister was right.  If my father had seen it I'm sure the book would have been confiscated.  I remember he wouldn't let me read James Bond.  My mother gave me the books to read when he wasn't home.

There couldn't have been explicit sex descriptions in the first book, that I would have remembered.

I don't remember my first adult book.  My parents never restricted what I read, I don't think they really paid any attention.

Good morning. I think the snakes heard that it is September, because there were reports of several on the trails today. I only saw one.

Good morning, all.

Travel vibes for DR Ginny. Hope the trip is great.

Thank you, DR John G - so far, so good.  Rob dropped us here at the airport and we sailed through check-in and security.  We've had lunch and are now using the free, but slow, wi-fi.  Boarding in about half an hour!
