Today is straighten up part of the basement day. The part all around the furnace and where the A/C comes in. Because on Monday the people are coming out to do the annual maintenance on those things.

Good morning, all! I'm going to work at home on Gentlemen, Be Seated! until noon, and then head down to City Center for the matinee of ZORBA. I want to see Rob Berman's wonderful parents after the show, and watch the matinee from the backstage monitor. Poor John Turturro got dreadful reviews, and I think he's so wonderful; for an actor in his first musical role, he's had one week of rehearsal, then tech and performance, and it's not fair to expect a performance equivalent for an actor with 4-6 weeks of rehearsals. I'm amazed at his accomplishment,and i want to see how he's progressed since last Tuesday.

Saturday morning greetings! Katie is picking me up in a couple of hours for the Middletown Symphony Women's Association fundraising luncheon. I received word late yesterday afternoon that I've been elected to a 2-year term on the board of the American Library Association's Retired Member Round Table, effective at the end of this year's annual conference. That means I get to go to Boston in January and Orlando in June next year...
