Hrumph...so the people doing "Cabaret" that I auditioned for on Sunday called me today and "after much deliberation" offered me the part of the Emcee.  The only problem is that it is out in Woodland Hills (a good 20 minute drive on the 101 from here WITHOUT traffic -- and we'd rehearse nights), wouldn't pay or earn me Equity points, and most possibly take me away from working weeknights...

So, as much as I'd love to do the role, at this point, I don't think it is in the cards for me...damn...

On top of that if I committed to them now, I'd take myself out of some auditions coming up that all have pay and/or Equity points and would be at that "next level" I am trying to crack into right now...

And I wouldn't want to take myself out of contention for those, nor would I want to back out on Cabaret once I'd said yes...

Dear Reader Laura - there were family groups of King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas feeding here this morning.  Yello Tailed Black cockattoos have been "helping" Colin prune trees during this past week.

I seem to have buried Alice and her Cotton Tailed Friends as there has been no return of Rabbit diggings.   My name is not Warren. Off with their heads (as long as I'm not executioner nor diner)  NAUGHTY WASCALS.

I believe that's "Pink," not Gwen Stefani.

Well, they are all one-name artists, except for "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince/Symbol that doesn't exist on my keyboard" - so I'm gonna go with him?

Oh, that is Pink.  DUH!  Although with all the looks both Pink and Gwen Stefani have gone through over the years... Who knows?

Well, it was a huge cattle call for "Spring Awakening" -- and I got there about 10 minutes before everything officially started and was handed number 246.  Sadly I was meeting my aunt and cousins to see "Wicked" at 2, so I ended up bailing at around 1, but it was still a good learning experience -- one that'll hopefully come in handy at "The History Boys" cattle call May 12th...

Moral of the story:  Get there UBER-early.

No, I really thought hard about it after the auditions were complete -- and came to that conclusion later that evening, after discussing it with my parents and really thinking about it.

Here's a little musical quiz of my own concoction.

This is the kind of thing I do when I get really bored.

Have fun!

My lame guess is Madonna--she's the only multisyllable name.

Not a concept, a "conceit" - a wretched, lamentable, self-indulgent conceit!

der Brucer

A local theater group plans to do a production of Sweeney Todd next season using this actor/musician "conceit." :P

You believe correctly!

While we're waiting for some of the more "popular music" experts to take a crack at this, I've tailored a game for this specific crowd, coming up next.

Question: What popular non-musical movie title is hiding in the images below?

No fair naming the logos -- just say the name of the movie if you know it!

This should be a snap for you guys....
