That must be BK's "other, other" Holy Grail.

Well we all have several....this one has been on my mind ever since CD labels began issuing expanded editions from studio masters.  Happily, this one is in stereo...and contains both Natalie Wood's AND Jackie Wand's vocals.

It's really great news, but I think it's Jackie Ward who dubbed for Natalie.

A look at the link will reveal that Natalie recorded vocals for all her songs and those are "included" in the 2-CD set, along with the Ward vocals which were used for the film.

Next I finished the four remaining short films by Jean Painlevé in the set. The last was a stop action-clay animation of BLUEBEARD with an opera score that ran 13 minutes. Quite original and one of the best things in the set.

I also liked a short in which Painlevé explained time as the fourth dimension making his hypothesis easy to understand.

I looked at the link and appreciated your posting it. I was only correcting your spelling of the dubber's last name.

Now if you could only correct my eyesight.  Totally missed that.  Sorry.

Then I began disc three in this Criterion set. I thought it was a 2 1/2 hour documentary, but it's actually eight episodes from a 1988 French TV series on the famous scientist/filmmaker. I watched four of them.

He's a very interesting man (he's 86 in the episodes, but he looks at least 10 years younger), but having to sit through some of the same films in excerpt form makes me antsy. I've been fast forwarding through those whenever they come up.

When I go back down, I'll finish the remaining four episodes and that will be that for this set.

I haven't decided if I want to watch MILK tonight, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (on Blu-ray), or a regular DVD. I have PRIVATE LIVES on the Warner Archive set that I haven't watched yet as well as ALL FALL DOWN. I've seen both of them on TCM within the last year, however, so I'm not all that enthusiastic to get back to them so quickly.

The weather reports say we have a fifty percent chance of rain tonight. That's fifty percent chance we won't, too.

What say your bones, Kerrry?

Well, I need to write for a bit and then head back down to complete my work project. Then, I have the evening free for some fun viewing.

BTW, there was no paperwork on who the uncredited demo singers were on You're Gonna Hear From Me - there are two different piano/vocal demos on side two (you can hear the clips at Screen Archives Entertainment) - happily I just identified one of them and they'll post that info to the comments on the product page - my ears never fail me - the singer is my beloved and wonderful Joanie Sommers.

I'm going to go get something fun to eat because all packages are shipped, all sessions are worked, and I am done with anything resembling work until late tomorrow afternoon, perhaps even Sunday.

And I am currently posting from the spacious(!) pit of the Sottile Theatre.  This really is a beautiful classic House, and I can tell it was built - and meant(!) - for a totally acoustic experience - no mics or other electronic volume enhancement.  In fact, above the audience section, there is a "star dome" which, in effect, acts like the dome of the Capitol Rotunda - you can hear people whispering who are sitting ten rows from you.

*And, YES, there's WiFi in here too!  :)
