DR DAW I can imagine it is difficult to talk about the lay-off. I’m very relieved you weren’t one of those escorted off of the premises, talk about humiliating.

It may not be rational but it is very normal to be embarrassed. Of course you shouldn’t be & please remember that when interviewing. I hope you will receive an excellent letter of recommendation.

DR DAW - if it's any consolation, I'm down to a single day a week at Borders (as is most of our staff); thank goodness for the restaurant.
(I'm seriously thinking of taking the Borders' option of working one day A MONTH and going to the restaurant five shifts a week).

My neighbor is so loud when he talks, I can hear every word he says. If I were one of his clients (accounting) I'd be worried about my privacy. I finally yelled through the wall, I can't stand to listen to him tell people what to do with their money. I have a really fishy felling about him.

It's really getting bad where I work too. I'm only a 40 hr a week employee, but the shop is used to 55 hrs, for them cutting hours hurts more.

When he's on the phone late a night, I think with his brothers, the conversation is about making as much money as he can. So between sounding pushy with clients, and walking around the building with his shirt unbuttoned to his navel, he gives my the shivers.

My neighbor on the other side, and his 20 year old son, have normal conversations, in and out with their friends. Nothing creepy, a pleasure to live next to.
