Oh, dear. BIG belly laugh on that one! I think that is the funniest toss/cull/purge/declutter story I've ever heard. That's priceless. But I do understand the sentiment behind it.

It's a good thing no one spotted you and called the police!

Hmm... I'm not sure "sentiment" is the correct word in this case.

Shame - ?

Embarrassment - ?

Yes.    Thank you, Jeanne!  I am thinking I need to reign it in a little.  Besides, I don't want to wear out my welcome.

You fit right in, IMHO. We're glad to have you.

I'm just wondering if your coworkers have noticed a change in you. :)

15 bags? Oh, my God! I probably SHOULD do that, but I can't!

Well, I was quite surprised when I moved out of my apartment in Richmond that I ended up with 12 bags of clothes for Diversity Thrift and/or the trash.  -And I've never thought of myself as a "clothes hog", "clothes whore", "clothes whatever-you-want-to-call-it".

OK , MBARNUM, here's an old story from my past that you might enjoy. Just thought of it last night:

There used to be a TV show starring Ida Lapino and Howard Duff, called MR ADAMS AND EVE. Their dressing room was a small--quite small--little structure with two rooms. Over one door was a sign, MR ADAMS, and, of course, over the other, EVE. After the show completed the dressing room was about to be broken down and trashed. My dad grabbed it, brought it home, and set it up in the back yard for me to use as a playhouse. Yes, a real star's (stars') dressing room. I was ten. And, yes, I could appreciate what it was and where it came from.

That's a wonderful story, wonderful memory, DR Jeanne.  Thanks for sharing.

....Oh contraire, dearest MB......

You just let dear Elmo and I have you alone in a room for 30 minutes, and you'd come out of that room wearing your old T-shirt AND a smile!

And That T-shirt would be fitting on you like a second skin.... in the best tradition of 50s hunk & muscle movies! :)

Of course, the t-shirt would probably be on inside out and backwards too...

I've never been a shoe lover, but despite tossing all I can the last few years, I've been unable to go through and weed out my shoes. I have a small wardrobe of shoes in size 7 (I wear a 7 1/2) that I KNOW I'll never wear, but can't bear to toss. My friend Bart, who's much more hardhearted than I, told me recently that he has the same problem: he simply can't throw out old shoes!!

OK, H/Ks, who can think of a name for the inability to throw out old shoes???

I, too, like to keep shoes for as long as possible.  Even if I don't wear them anymore.  However, ever since I moved out of Richmond, I do try to throw out my old New Balance sneakers and running shoes, but mainly because they're no longer good for my feet (and legs and back).

Right now, I think I have about 15 pairs of shoes (sneakers, dress shoes, etc.), but I only really wear four pairs regularly.  -Which also means some of my older shoes are still in good shape since they've never been worn that much.  ;)

Someone please to explain the appeal of "The Skin of Our Teeth."

Thank you.

DR JRand56, I love you too much to pick a fight over one of my favorite plays!  However, I still believe that too many good to brilliant plays have been turned into lousy musicals.

DR MissKaren, that card did leave me aghast and agape and agog, as testified by all DR's expressions after seeing it.

Oh, no! Mo' snow?

When I cleaned out my closet last summer - I threw away 15 bags of clothing....I didn't even look at a lot of the stuff (and I didn't want to see any of it onstage) - gone.  Not even worth taking to the thrift store....believe me.  I think many t shirts went in those bags.....

15 bags? Oh, my God! I probably SHOULD do that, but I can't!

My sister's boyfriend's late mother was a complete pack-rat.  After she died, my mom went to help clean up her house and just from her bedroom alone, my mom filled 44 (that's right 44!!) 35-gallon-sized garbage bags with clothes...that's just from her bedroom!  Her whole house was filled with EVERYTHING.  She had trails throughout the house in between everything that was piled up in all of the rooms.  Even holes in the walls got filled with things that she kept.  She literally could not throw anything away.

Well, I got my friend from the hospital but about two hours after he was scheduled to be released. Typical, I guess. He's back at his home and hopefully comfy for the afternoon and evening. He wants to try to go into work tomorrow!

Since Jeff was delayed so long, I was able to squeeze in some viewing.

I began with MR. MOTO TAKES A VACATION. It was more in the mystery vein, and thus I liked it, especially since I did guess the identity of the guilty party/murderer. Always fun when I can do that.

I watched the featurette on "The End of Moto" which was a mini-history lesson about US-Japan relations. I certainly did learn some things I didn't kow about other MOTO films, especially the 1957 one with Robert Wagner in which the Moto character was removed.

Miss Karen at least you get to see your son often.  In June Craig will have been in Romania 4 years.  Twice we visited him & twice he returned home for short visits.

It looks as if he will be returning to the States just shy of his four year stay.  He has been accepted into a graduate program at Carnegie-Mellon.  Instead of beginning in September they accepted him for this May!  Craig hasn’t heard back from the other schools he applied to, this was really fast.  Not that it matters as CMU is his school of choice.

Congratulations to DR Jane's DS Craig! :)

I did have time to watch about 25 minutes of PETER PAN. This is the Special Edition of the movie, and (like the Five Star Collection version of THE SOUND OF MUSIC) it looks just fine on my equipment, so I'm not upgrading. The new special features aren't enough to warrant another investment in the film.

If I buy PETER PAN again, it will have to be on Blu-ray in a high definition format.

I am very much enjoying watching PETER PAN again, so when I got back down, I will finish it. It's a beautifully made film, and the score is a tonic.
