Well, you've read the notes, the notes were raging, and now it is time for you to post until the raging cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHATOYANT!
-
First post after BK!
-
Good night.
-
First post after TCB!
-
Good night, and have a good day, all!
-
We have arrived in Mauritius, settled, had a relaxing late lunch, and are about to go for a walk. Keith ordered the fish and chips. I like the chips and the starter sauce but am not a fan of the battered fish. It looked so good not only did I have one taste but I had two.
-
Keith has but the first photo up on Facebook if anyone wants to share it.
-
More travel fun vibes to Jane and Keith!!!
-
Best of luck to Michael on the fundraising!
-
Thank you DR FJL
-
Sometimes choices have to be made when deciding the essentials to pack. I opted not to bring sandals for walking on the beach figuri g I could do so barefoot. Big mistake. The sand is grainy and rough on my delicate feet.
-
Best of luck to Michael on the fundraising!

Good morning, all!
-
The babies are fed, I'm on my first cuppa coffee, and around 9:45 I will head down to City Center yo see Joshie.
-
On my way down, I will stop at City Vet and pick up Annabelle's new meds.
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all.
-
Thank you for all the good wishes on the fundraising. We have already over $300 in less than a day.
-
It’s 43 out there, and that’s supposed to be the high today. Rain is coming down.
-
In spite of her respiratory problems, Annabelle seems to feel pretty good: she's jumped all over my work table, she tried to help me make the bed by lying in the middle of it and wanting a tummy rub. Thatch avoids me since whenever I reach for him and can catch him, I hold him down and put salve in his eyes.
-
I heard on the new this morning that the S. California fire has hit Brentwood.
Is anybody, at this point, talking "arson"?
-
Good morning, all.
-
I can barely stay awake.
-
I think "arson" a lot, in recent years more than ever.
-
Got some ugly bills to pay today. Oh my, yes, they are most unattractive.
-
First, some more coffee.
-
Continued travel vibes for DR JANE & Keith!

That's a nice photo from DR JANE's BookFace Page.
-
The fires are scary enough to see on TV....I can't imagine them a few miles from my house!
-
That's a nice photo from DR JANE's BookFace Page.
Thanks for the vibes and the photo.

Wednesday morning greetings! I've been up since about 7:30, busy at my art desk making cards for niece Rev. Amy's kids. They all have birthdays between the 6th and 13th of December, so we're going to the triple celebration Sunday.
-
Triple Birthday Party sounds like FUN!
-
Is there an Amazon page for the EXPRESSO BONGO Cd? I was going to review it, but I can't seem to find it......
-
The 104 bus today is a complete mess. I missed one this morning and had a 30 minute wait before two shgowed up at the same time, then I had another 30 minute wait at 57th Street to come back uptown, This is MTA bullshit.

Very nice, Jane!

I heard on the new this morning that the S. California fire has hit Brentwood.
Is anybody, at this point, talking "arson"?
:o
-
I'm not sure I've done the Bongo page, but will shortly.
-
I'm up - eight and a half hours of blessed sleep.
-
The Red Shoes page is up, however, and would love some reviews of that.
-
Thanks!!!
I still need to listen to The Red Chews.
-
So, where the fat hell is the City Center check? I hate being in limbo.
-
My dance instructor’s daughter, who lives in Paris, often goes snorkeling in Mauritius. Just lovely.
-
Signing has been postponed.
-
New fire near Skirball and the Getty - these things do not start by themselves.
-
Thanks Jrand. Keith took it with his cell phone and not our new camera with the zoom lens.
-
Thanks!!!
I still need to listen to The Red Chews.
I also have that, and Expresso Bongo (of course), and Barnum: The Backers' Audition, and Pentatonix's Christmas Deluxe, and The Crucible, and the OBC of In Transit, and the concert recording of Six Wives, and the Premiere Cast Recording of Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.
-
I am not watching the news but the photos and videos on fb are shocking, especially of the traffic moving along the freeway near the fire.
-
I crashed for several hours and now I am wide awake at 12:27 am.
-
Triple Birthday Party sounds like FUN!
Yes, it does! And it’s the day after we’re going with Amy’s sister’s family on a train ride with Santa.
Extended family was something my Mom was not good at and I firmly believe that contributed to her isolation and loneliness. I’m working hard on these relationships...
-
Long day at work. Productive but looooong.
-
Engine light came on. Hope that doesn’t mean anything
-
Good luck.
-
My dance instructor’s daughter, who lives in Paris, often goes snorkeling in Mauritius. Just lovely.
I will only swim here, at the hotel. I didn't see anyone snorklng yesterday and fear I won't see many fish. I have issues with the snorkeling gear but do fine with wearing my swim goggles and holding my breath. Keith dislikes snorkeling.
-
Good evening.
-
Had Wacky Noodles for the meal o' the day - not a huge amount, either. Then picked up one screener, which was the missing screener from a few days ago - something called Baby Driver.
-
Then the helper came by and we sorted through ALL the Indiegogo stuff and everything but the musical quotes and the signed Levi scores will go out on Saturday. Most surprising, as I thought they'd all sold, is the unsold Harvey Schmidt portfolio of twelve red D's, which, while it was a bit more money, was actually the most interesting and most valuable of them all. I'm thinking about putting it up on eBay, actually.
-
That would be the NEW helper, who is going to be terrific. So organized and together.
-
Congrats on the well organized new helper.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
three
-
Congrats on the well organized new helper.
Ditto! I can't wait to get my stuff! :D
-
Like BK, I went to bed last night thankful that none of the fires are near me. This morning I woke at 6:45 to the voices of several neighbors talking about the 405, AKA the San Diego Freeway, which is one of the major arteries here. It had been shut down due to the Getty Center/Skirball fire. That's only a few miles away and air quality has NOT been good here. One of the advantages of living in one of the lesser neighborhoods is that all our concrete deters fires.
-
Oops, I guess I messed up George's page turn.
-
More tossing and cleaning today. Papers pile up so quickly! It was a bit discouraging to see how old some of the papers on my kitchen table were. I didn't think it had been THAT long since I'd gone through it all.
-
Someone had to start all these fires - I'm hoping we find out that bit of news.
-
Page three? Really?
-
BK said that there's no birthday surprise party for him this year. But his birthday isn't until Friday. It could truly be a surprise.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is the difference between BMI and ASCAP and which is better?
-
Ah! And here he is. Hi, Bruce. And hi, George.
-
And hi, Jack.
-
Jane's vacation spot looks heavenly.
-
No rest for the weary.
TTFN.

My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is the difference between BMI and ASCAP and which is better?
ASCAP is the older of the two, founded in 1914, and I am a member. Victor Herbert and Irving Berlin were two of its founders. Here is a photo of the group. BMI was founded in 1940.
-
Interesting photo DR ELMORE!
-
Congrats on the well organized new helper.
Ditto! I can't wait to get my stuff! :D
Tritto.

Oops, I guess I messed up George's page turn.
No prob. It happens all the time. ;)
-
I have started watching Demon Seed, which I have never seen before. Good and creepy fun.
-
Page three? Really?
-
It's still really cold and it's still raining.
-
The car engine light went out after I got the oil changed.
-
I like Demon Seed. Saw it on its first release and always remembered it fondly.

The NY Times is reporting that WNYC has suspended famed and greatly esteemed radio host Jonathan Schwartz, but the article doesn;t seem to be clear on what kind of misconduct is involved. Also their host, interviewer Leonard Lopate.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/06/business/media/wnyc-leonard-lopate-jonathan-schwartz.html
From the article:
"Leonard Lopate and Jonathan Schwartz, two of New York’s most popular and longest tenured radio hosts, were placed on leave by New York Public Radio on Wednesday as the company investigates allegations of inappropriate conduct."
-
For my fifth anniversary with the company, I got a telescope with a tripod.
-
It arrived today, waiting on the doorstop when I got home.
-
But with all the rain, it's not a good night to take it out.
-
I may wait until Christmas since I have so many activities between now and then.

This really is, I'm afraid to say, and perhaps just for me, getting very boring. Anonymous claims, automatic removal, no innocent until proven guilty. I know nothing about either person other than what was really inappropriate for Mr. Schwartz was asking for and receiving promos of my albums, never playing them, and selling them still sealed to Academy and Footlight back in the day. We caught him red-handed and removed him from our promo list.

And let me just be the voice of sanity - there isn't a one of us anywhere of any gender who hasn't said something, made a joke, made a randy comment, touched someone's shoulder or back, put their arm around someone for a photo, or anything like that, who could be accused today and found guilty without so much as the blink of an eye. This has turned into The Crucible, folks, a witch hunt, plain and simple. Yes, there are very bad people out there who have truly done terrible things - call them out, punish them, ruin their careers - but this other stuff trivializes the true victims of heinous behavior. Of course we don't know what the allegations are, nor do the two people involved, because that information is being denied them - which, in my book, is or should be illegal. They should be apprised of any allegations immediately so that they can respond immediately. Shame on everyone who is handling these things in this manner. If the allegations are finally told these two folks and IF they are proven to be true, then we can at least react from a position of knowledge.

Started a new series called Dickensian. Apparently all of the characters in his novels are part of the same social circles.
Not sure what I think of it yet. Of course, it starts near Christmas with Marley, Scrooge and the Cratchets all part of the story. The folks from Oliver Twist just showed up. I wonder if I'll recognize anyone from Martin Chuzzlewit, of which I remember next to nothing.

Jane's vacation spot looks heavenly.
It is rather nice. A good place to relax and rest and get over our jet lag.

Nice 😊

Wow! That's pretty cool! Every five years, we get a handmade wooden box. They get bigger at each five-year increment. At 20 (or maybe 25) years, you get a glass vase or bowl. I'll find out next year what I get at 30 years. ;)

I heard from someone who made 25 years at USAA that she got a wide-screen TV. I won't make it that long. I would be 75.

That's amazing! We're a publicly funded library, so no TVs of any kind for us. ::)

Elmore's personal friend, Stephen Rea, is a part of the Dickensian cast. He plays Inspector Bucket.

And now, I'm off. I've been havin' a hankerin' for some Happy Teriyaki (http://happyteriyaki5.com/), so that's where I'm headed.
Be back later.

I am hungry.

Sorry to have been E&T. I left work at. 11 am on Monday with a stomach bug and was out yesterday as well....back today and things are back to normal

I am wondering about the motivation of these women coming forward after all these years .. The allegations all appear to be years, even decades old, so I can't believe it is in some sudden concern that these persons are out there still preying on women...
When I was in my early 20s. I was a supervisor at UPS...we had a manger that would take each of the supervisors out for a one on one dinner to discuss their performance and future with the company. The other supervisors were all male.
After my dinner with the manager, which was business like but cordial, nothing inappropriate, as we walked through the dark parking lot he grabbed my shoulders, pulled me to him, forcibly kissed me and shoved his hand up my blouse and under my bra... I pushed him away, got in my car and never mentioned it to anyone.
I was 25, he was about 50
That was about 35 years ago... what possible purpose would it serve were I to now make his name public?

Because in some cases the women haven't gotten over it, they still resent it. In some cases it was very traumatic. They felt they had to keep quiet then. In the cases I witnessed men NEVER received more than a slap on the wrist, if that, whereas the women were humiliated and their jobs were often threatened. Talk about blaming the victim!
No one seems to be talking about those who let the men get away with it. They're complicit, too. And some women felt that women should have to put up with it, that "men will be men." It really is terribly pervasive.
No one wants to see it stop more than I do, but it's not just a bad apple situation. Where does it end?
-
Back to life in a Welsh village, where life was simpler. Not necessarily better, but it seemed simpler, anyway.
-
And, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE!
You couldn't be spending it in a nicer place.

Good night.

I left my very good paying job after that, and yes, I know that it would have been he said he said and he was a 30 year employee and I a 5 year employee, his word would have been taken I've mine. Was I angry, humiliated , demeaned, intimidated? Yes. Di
But 35 years later publically exposing his name would not change any of that and I see no purpose they it would serve
