If you every want to find out who say or did an instrumental version of a song try the ASCAP database. That is where I got my list from

http://www.ascap.com/ace/search.cfm?mode=search

It seems to me that the majority of the songwriters who composed they kind of songs I like are with ASCAP.  BMI also a data base.

Thursday morning greetings!  We are continuing our preparations for this weekend's festivities - today laundry and getting our guest room ready for my niece Laura.

RE:  DRs Michael S and Jose's iPod album art discussion:

I have no idea how iTunes comes up with some of the album art that it does.  Last week when I had to move and consolidate two parts of my music library, I lost a lot of the album covers.  I let iTunes search for all of them and, for the most part, it did a pretty good job.  I was not satisfied on some--it would occaisionally show a greatest hits or a cheapo amalgamated cd cover, but at least the artist was correct.  But for some others--sheesh!  The B'way GREY GARDENS had the cover for LONE STAR LOVE.  Art Blakely at Birdland Vol 2 had the cover for THE BIRDCAGE soundtrack.  And, of course, the supplemental disc of the CHICAGO 10th anniversary CD had the cover to the group Chicago's Greatest Hits.

They are showing the new Chorus Line documentary, "Every Little Step," at a local art house starting this weekend.  However, some of DH's relatives from out of town will be staying with us.  Don't know if they'll be interested.

I thought THE LION IN WINTER was set during the 13th century. If so, it wouldn't meet the timeline of the TOD.

Good morning!

Once again, it's a spectacularly beautiful morning, but the forecast calls for rain this afternoon. Don't see how it's possible, but I said that yesterday, and we had LOTS of rain later in the day.

It has NEVER rained so much here as it has since I decided to try to start jogging.          :P

TOD - cars:

My Mustang (not a convertible) was a complete lemon once the first thing went wrong with it (after about two years). The water pump was the first thing to go, and then it was just a series of repairs. I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

I love the Saturn I have now. It's the easiest to drive of any car I've ever had, and except for that dead battery, there hasn't been a single problem with it.

Back from the long treadmill - I did four miles at a faster speed than I normally do when actually jogging.

I'll be interested to see Bravo's new version of PROJECT RUNWAY called THE FASHION SHOW. Reviews have been all over the map. Some have said it's a mere PR clone. Others have said it's better with more realistic runway shows and a hipper spin on the designs.

Since my cable service added Bravo-HD to the channel line-up, I wonder if it's going to be in HD? I guess I'll see.

Today I'm planning right now to take the day off and watch one or two of the original STAR TREK movies on Blu-ray. However, those plans could change if the UPS man surprises me with some review copy deliveries.
