Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.

Perhaps I will have to sculpt DR TCB in soap...

Maybe it would be better to carve Presidents and DearReaders out of chocolate instead.

I am reading a book titled Free for All:  Oddballs, Geeks, and Gangstas in the Public Library, by Don Borchert.  It hits very close to home - well, to my workplace, actually.

Go to Amazon.com; it's been available since November.

Exactly what I was thinking. Glad I hadn't imagined it!

Another mid-spring day here. It's been breezy, but it wasn't really a cold breeze, so very definitely like spring. The weather just continues to amaze me. My heat hasn't kicked on all day.

Well, I watched THE LAST EMPEROR this afternoon - the theatrical cut that's about 2 1/2 hours. Just as I remembered it: interesting story, told at a distance so we don't have much of a rooting interest for the main character, full of Bertolucci's various fetishes (threesomes, toe sucking, etc.). Ah well.

A Charlie Smalls story sortof.

I saw Lena Horne's one woman show on Broadway where she sang a song from Charlie Smalls new upcoming Broadway musical.

Of course that was never to be. Like Roger Miller he was a one shot deal on Broadway.

Tonight, I'll sample the audio commentary and then start on the first featurette that runs about an hour.

So it's still upcoming....I guess.

I can't say that I would have loved the COMPANY revival, but I sort of like the CD....although I keep going back to the original.....I guess it is a combination of originality and familiarity.....but it is STILL my favorite.

DR GINNY I love the title of that book.

I watched a 1966 movie titled KALEIDOSCOPE on Mojo HDTV this afternoon.  I had kind of avoided this movie because I thought I knew what it would be like, but it was pretty good.

Warren Beatty and Susannah York (replacing Sandra Dee) are a nice looking couple and the story.....sort of like Casino Royale without the spies - is fun.

Has anyone else ever seen it?  I would like opinions of HHW'ers please.  Fun and pretty....and I enjoyed it.

Well, I guess I'll play on the internet for a bit and then head down to pick back up with documentary features on THE LAST EMPEROR.

I am wearing my Kirkland blue jeans, Seattle Seahawk T-shirt, a pair of tighty-whiteys**, black socks, and bedroom slippers.*

*  I had shoes on when i went out for breakfast

**  Why is it a pair of tighty-whiteys, when there is only one?

Yes, but a t-shirt has two arm openings, why isn't it a pair?

Good Afternoon!

I had a nice walk around midtown, and I only managed to get caught in one of the sudden(!) downpours(!!!) this afternoon.  Thankfully, I had my umbrella in my bag, so I was able to stroll from the East Side to the West Side in relative dryness.  -Or something like that.  The brief audition session I played for was truly brief - just one person.  But it was someone I've loved on stage for a while now, and I hope that today leads to bigger and better things for her.  And for me too, if that's in the cards. ;)

And on the way back from the casting director's office...

Amy's Bread for a small boule of their Tangy Sourdough Bread.

Bouchon Bakery in the Time-Warner Center for a piece of their Focaccia of the Day (Emmenthaler Cheese, Sundried Tomatoes, Caramelized Onions and Bacon), and a Nutter Butter.

I plan to eat enough candy to induce a sugar coma before our impending weekly staff meeting.     :P

Sounds like a plan to me...

Sugar coma?  What's a sugar coma?  ;D
