HARMONY IN THE UNIVERSE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had harmony, and now it is time for you to post until the harmonic cows come home.

Good morning, all!  I'm up at 6 am this morning: I've got band parts to copy, a trip to Toyland, then the NYPL, and back here for more work.

I had two repsponses to my inquiry yesterday. DR singdaw sent me the requested mp3 file of "All-Girl Band" from A MY NAME IS ALICE, Gold love him, and now I have an idea of what its tempo is.  DR Matthew sent me several clips of the number on youtube.  What a fantastoc ite!

Nothing else to report for now.  Back later.

My, my, my.  Five guests and me.  I believe that is the name of BK's next book, or possibly his next play.

I can only hear the melody line-- can't sing harmony.  Sorry about that.  :-\

Having finished watching WITH A SONG IN MY HEART last night, I have a question for BK and all the DRS:

What are your favorite film biographies, whether they be true to life or not?

"Crumb," a documentary on the cult cartoonist Robert Crumb.
"Conspiracy of Kindness," the story of Chiune (Sempo) Sugihara (the Japanese consul to Lithuania who during WWII who saved thousands of Jews at the expense of his own career).
I know that many didn't care for it, but I got a kick (ha!) out of "De-Lovely," the 2004 Cole Porter bio-pic starring Kevin Kline.

Good Wednesday morning!

I'm back in NY now after visiting with family in Florida for the Thanksgiving week.  Lovely trip.  And lovely to return to the lovely NY weather.  Just lovely.  Actually, I do think I would miss the change of seasons if I lived somewhere with constant temperature year-round.  It really is beautiful walking around and seeing the leaves all different colors.

They are turning off the water to my building today in about five minutes so they can make some needed repairs to a water pipe.  Should be back on by around 3pm this afternoon - but it caused me to be up, showered and dressed earlier than I otherwise would have.  SO I think I will take advantage of that and get an early start on some errands.

Happy morning everyone!

A day and a half (actually a little less now) till V day (vacation day). I have some things to finish up today and a meeting at 10am tomorrow and then I will be outta here until January 2nd.

The stress test on the database went better than expected. The plan is to launch the new db on Monday morning December 3rd. I won't be here so I get to miss any problems.

bk, since you've invested all of this time, you might as well follow up immediately with Fire Walk With Me!

Wednesday and I am off work.  I shall write my review to submit to SCARLET STREET (yes, I was asked thanks to DR MBARNUM) - one is finished and the other will be finished today.

Raucous Rhapsody by George Gershwin.

Film biographies:

WITH A SONG IN MY HEART
HARLOW - Carroll Baker, completely inaccurate, but nice to look at and listen to.
AMELIA EARHART - with Diane Keaton.

Good morning! I didn't put out my curbside recycling last night because it was so windy, but of course I heard the truck come to pick it up at 6:15 AM. I was awake so I decided to go walk on my treadmill.  I am so glad I put it in a place where I can use it.  Callie was once again totally baffled. The room it's in is where she usually goes to hide when it's time for her meds.  She just watched me and then went up to the kitchen and waited for me to get done.   Guess she figured I'd walked far enough and didn't have to chase her as she usually wants me to do.

I did get a hold of a garage door repair place. They will be at my house at 2:00 PM (hopefully) so I'm crossing my fingers that it's a repair and not a replacement that's in order.
