I've got a suggestion about Topic for the Day.
Let's talk about people to whom we've loaned a VHS tape of a TV show that will never be aired again, so that the tape is pretty much irreplaceable, and the individual who gets it (that'd be DakotaCelt in my case) keeps the tape, for months and months, and never returns it. Never responds to several private emails asking when she's going to send it back. Never responds to public posts here offering to pay to get it back.
Anyone else ever have an experience like that?
I think JRand offered some great advice. It's folly to lend out anything you have only one copy of, cannot replace, and is worth so much to you that you don't care what you have to do in your attempt to retrieve it. That said, I believe the forum member will return the tape, as she promised to do yesterday.
I hope when this tape gets back to you that you keep it and preserve it. Never again let it out of your sight, and make sure you get it insured for its priceless value to you.
I also hope it provides you joy, solace, comfort and whatever else you can derive from it in the years to come.
