Jose - very little games-playing yesterday, but I did play the video poker at several different casinos. Netted a small gain overall.
The bus ride cost was interesting. The round trip was $31, but when we got to Caesar's and got off the bus, they handed each of us a 20 dollar bill (not chips or anything that had to be redeemed at that hotel, but actual money), bringing the cost of the round trip bus trip to $11.
One thing that annoys me is that you have to be vigilant since even if you start off asking to "Bet 1" - meaning one coin, be it quarter, nickel or whatever - in some casinos, the machine would automatically switch over after a short while to "Bet 5" telling you on the screen that it was switching over BUT you have to notice it - and you'd have to hit a button to switch it back to "Bet 1" again. Lots of people just play mindlessly, and the casinos are clearly counting on that. This clearly happened at one of the end-of-boardwalk casinos, but I came out ahead there, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I don't think it's fair when people aren't being ultra-vigilant.
