Well, you've read the notes, the notes never coughed one time, and now it is time for you to post until the coughing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BARDOLATRY!
-
jan, I do power walk quite often.
-
First post after BK...and I haven't coughed all day!
-
Not even to clear my throat.
-
Of course, the day is only 15 minutes old, so there's still time.
;)
-
Good early morning to everyone
-
Legit complaint. People can eat drink and be annoying like they are in movies last bastion of civilization has fallen
-
BK, I was reading Last Chance to See (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JWUG6C/) by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine when Murder at the Magic Castle (http://kritzerland.com/castle.htm) was released. In the middle of reading LCtS, I actually read MatMC. I then went back to LCtS, which I finished yesterday. As soon as I was done with that, I started rereading MatMC again. :)
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Sorry to have been E&T
-
Yesterday morning I got up early and to get my car to the mechanic by 8 when it opened so I could get its yearly state inspection
-
The pollen count has dropped. My facial bones no longer ache and the pressure is off my sinuses, but I still have a mild headache and my left nostril no longer blocked.
-
I left it there and walked to work, stopping along the way at the supermarket to buy some yogurt
-
I was out of bed by 7:30, so I either slept better or I'm running on nervous energy.
-
It was a really busy day at work, the busiest I've been since I started but not overwhelmingly so
-
Yesterday I wrote checks for all of my outstanding bills. I hope that blasted recording check arrives this week. It's been four weeks since we recorded.
-
I got a call from the mechanic saying I needed rear brakes and a new belt, neither of which surprised me...the car is coming up on 100,000 miles
-
Good morning, DR vixmom!
-
One of my coworker's kindly gave me a lift to the station at lunch time and $532.00 and some cents poorer I went home for lunch
-
Then back to the office for a busy afternoon and then out by 5
-
It was pouring down with rain when I was leaving and I decided to cancel my planned errands and just go right home.
-
I sat down to read and ended up dozing off
-
Woke just before Vixdad was due to arrive home and fixed a quick meal of Easter leftovers for us to eat
-
Then after dinner we tried watching Netflix but the internet connection kept getting interrupted...and we were having thunderstorms
-
I decided to try reading again and dozed right off once again
-
I actually slept through the night waking up at 4:37 am .
-
I took the garbage out to the curb since we didn't do it in the middle of the storm and went back to sleep
-
And now I am having a nice cup of hazelnut coffee prior to jumping in the shower
-
Good morning Elmore!!
-
Oooh page two
-
Good morning, all.
-
T.O.D.
It bugs me when people use their cell phones in a theater, movie or legit, even if they're just texting.
-
BK,
You didn't mention star Clifton Webb in your comments on THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN.
Since he's the subject of my newest one-person play, you'll please forgive my mentioning him here. :D
BTW: An audio version is currently in the works.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1798773848/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=clifton+webb+druxman&qid=1552167264&s=books&sr=1-1-fkmrnull

We had a pretty good Act 1 tech yesterday. It was great to see that the school acquired proper costumes and props, and the cast sounded very well prepped. This should be an enjoyable run.
Big pit in this one: about fifty! -- but only the normal complement is playing at any one time. The MD has people doubling for training and experience purposes, so a lot of them are switching off from one song to another. It's all students, plus the four hired hands (two keyboardists and two guitarists), and if I say so myself, these four electronic instruments make a lovely sound.
Act 2 this afternoon/evening.
-
I wish I could locate a wonderfully written capsule review I'm remembering from The New Yorker some years back, regarding a performance of Parsifal or some similarly quiet, austere piece in which they likened the audience's coughing to goats or sheep placidly calling and responding to each other from one hillside to another.
There was also this one:
https://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/01/arts/music/maestro-at-work-hold-that-cough.html
-
Good morning!
-
Speaking of coughers: I agree, BK! I often think, can't you just wait a minute and cough during the applause?
-
Congrats to DR jan on her milestone. Speaking of which, it looks like I have one coming up. Of course, it's very modest considering I've been posting about 10 years.
-
Another glorious day in Indiana.....there is street work in my neighborhood - so trucks and bulldozers and other equipment gets parked in front of my house....the corner down the street is torn up and a big pile of dirt is on the side of the street....but the workers have moved down to the other corner.
Someone struck a gas line last night, so the gas company was here until about 8 p.m. securing everything....
If I want to get out of the neighborhood, I have to go the other way....
-
I like everything in Three Coins in the Fountain EXCEPT Maggie McNamara whose irritating presence ruins everything she is in for me.....
She destroys her friend's career and doesn't ever say I'm sorry or mention it again.....
-
I remember the 1966 version of Stagecoach.....and it was so jarring that it took place in a forest instead of out in the desert, that I couldn't finish watching it....
-
I shall have to think about the TOD.
-
jan, I do power walk quite often.
I think it is better on the body than jogging but I do miss running.
-
I left it there and walked to work, stopping along the way at the supermarket to buy some yogurt
I just love that you can walk to work and stop at the market, after droppjng your car off.

Tuesday morning greetings! I've going as a guest today to a book group based at a local country club (of which we're not members). The book we're discussing is The Widows by Jess Montgomery and the author is joining us.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congratulations, Jan, on your milestone.
-
Jan, I’m not a fan of traditional meals. I rarely want to eat something because of the calendar. So, it could be beef tenderloin or pot roast on Thanksgiving, shrimp for Christmas, etc. i think the seder dinner is about the only traditional meal for me. Unlike Ethel Merman, I don’t bring ham sandwiches to that one.
-
Still catching up.

A nice treat when the author joins the discussion.
-
DR TCB what do you mean if you buy the property?
-
Thank you DR JANE.....that's two of us anyway.
-
Last night on HBO was the first episode of the miniseries GENTLEMAN JACK.....it just happened to come on at the right time....I watched it.
Most entertaining - very good show....if someone has HBO and is looking for something to watch.
-
Good morning.
-
TOD:
Things I hate about movie theaters: Men with wandering hands.
Things I dislike about live theaters: Trash left behind on the floor.
-
Wandering hands! :o :o :o
-
Speaking of coughers: I agree, BK! I often think, can't you just wait a minute and cough during the applause?
I agree...except sometimes you just can't. ::)
I've been the perpetrator (really, the victim) of needing to cough and as a regular theater goer, I do try to minimize the noise or try to time it to loud moments, but sometimes there's just no possibility. And if I'm in the middle of a row, trying to get out to the lobby can be more of a disturbance than trying to muffle the sound.
-
And now, it's Page Three!
-
Congrats to DR jan on her milestone. Speaking of which, it looks like I have one coming up. Of course, it's very modest considering I've been posting about 10 years.
Kevin, a milestone is a milestone! Celebrate them all, I say! ;D

I had a major breakthrough with little Thatch this morning which was quite wonderful. The Thatch in the stories is not the actual Thatch at all, more my wishful projection, but he becomes more trusting and less paranoid daily. I did develop a headache this morning, so I took some Tylenol and lay down for a bit. Thatch joined me, and the longer we lay there, the more curious about me he became. He started climbing and walking over over me as he would get on and off the bed. I think he wanted to sleep in the cat tree, but Annabelle has appropriated it today. He would occasionally walk to the foot of the bed just to see if she were still there. Usually, she's up in the book cases. Then he'd wander about, come back and lie down with me.
Around 1:15, he started his perambulations again, climbed up on my chest, and then lay down on it. He stayed there for maybe ten minutes when he rose, continued his walk off my chest, and plopped down in the space between my right arm and my chest. He curled up, decided he liked it, and then spect the next 15 minutes or so grooming himself there. He's usually so frightened of anyone getting too close to him, much as he craves the affection, that he likes to be petted but not enclosed. This is good.
-
Then I had a good email from the State University of New York (SUNY) in New Paltz, and I called Joshie so we can plan our trip there for this Friday. Too much excitement today!
-
No check again today. Dammit dammit dammit!
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of needed sleep.
-
Weird dreams, and the last dream kept looping, which was even weirder.
-
I'd already decided what I'd do for food today but as usually happens, now it doesn't sound appealing.
-
I hope dear readers, George is enjoying his return trip to the Magic Castle.

Definitely am. Then, it'll be more fresh in my mind for a proper review...finally. ;)

He gets friendlier and Annabelle gets more eccentric. About 3:00, she decided to get out of the cat tree, and she started pestering me about dinner. At 3:45, when I fed them, she was up in her bookcase throne - I put a pillow up there for her comfort - and refused to come down. Thatch ate her dinner as well as his.
-
I have to get used to this new ring tone on the new iPhone. It's very weird.
-
So, the phone rang and the read out was: AT&T Fraud Alert - this is new, but very good - they're alerting you that the number calling in has been flagged as fraud. So, I answered it and the woman started in "Breast cancer foundation" blah, blah, blah. I interrupted her and said, "Really. That's funny because the read out on my phone says FRAUD ALERT. She retorted with, "Well, you can believe that or believe me." I shot back, "I'll believe that." As I was hanging up I heard her say, "Well, God bless you and have a nice day." Uh huh.
-
Love the Thatch story.
-
God Bless you and have nice
-
Back from picking up packages, no mail, and then I decided to eat what I'd originally planned, so went to Gelson's for a cube steak, which I'm cooking with asparagus, onions, and mushrooms. Entire calories count for this is under 700.
-
My sister and her husband mowed my lawn today.....it looks very nice.
-
I'm very full now - cube steak was excellent and the sauteed mushrooms, onions, and asparagus were also good. Very filling and only 700 calories. I have some cantalope for later.

What is this page three malarky?
-
When I cough in a theater it is because I cannot control my cough. If I suspect the possibility of coughing I will have a cough drop or two unwrapped in case I need them.
-
The most annoying people are the talkers. Embarrassing is when a talker is your friend you have gone to the theater with.
-
The worst people are those that angrily yell back when you ask them to please be quiet.
-
Cell phone users. Of course talking or the phone ringing is very annoying.
-
Texting is bad enough with the bright light but why can't they dim the light if they are going to text.
-
Speaking of dimming the light, I did that the other night when we were at the event to hear the author. Not knowing what the sound would be like, and since the lights were not completely turned to movie setting, I wanted the option to adjust my hearing aids with my phone app. Boy did I need to as the speaker was not using the microphone correcting and had a soft voice.

David Winters has passed away. He's been in and out of hospitals for years with heart problems but has managed to survive all of them save for his last. I took dance from him at fourteen years of age, he choreographed me in one of the Donny and Marie shows and put me in his film, Racquet.

Sad news.
David was one of my very first publicity clients, and was also responsible for my getting other clients (e.g. Pat Harrington, Jr., etal.).
R.I.P., my friend.

Back to The Bookshop. I'm not enjoying it. So, I'm going to skip to about the end.
-
I have to be up early tomorrow.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
I have to take the car in for repairs, then get a chest X-ray (a followup to last year's surgery). Then it's off to a daylong meeting that is a real dog-and-pony show.
-
Then tomorrow night it's ushering for Spamalot.

The reviews tonight for Tootsie have been excellent. David Yazbeck has grown better with each show. I'm really interested in hearing this one.

Good night, all.

I haven't seen it, but the screenwriter, Sally Wainwright, is one of my favorites. I don't have HBO, so I'm hoping it comes to Netflix or Acorn.

good news on Thatch.

Oh, and I think PBS will be showing it.

I got my car waxed today. Long overdue.
-
Bruce, I'm amazed that TWO people came out to deliver your new phone and set it up. I didn't know they did that at all; I thought you bought it in the store or they mailed it to you.
-
I'm very tired and barely functional.
Good night.

LOL, we don't.
Keith read the first novel as we watched the fist season. He enjoyed both the book & the show. I think it was too much at once and he didn't care if we continued watching. Sorry all of you fans out there but I did not want to watch any more of the show so we stopped.
-
We have been to 2 or 3 of the beautiful locations where it was filmed.

Me, too! :D
-
I saw a short montage of scenes from the show on Playbill.com (http://www.playbill.com/article/check-out-tootsie-on-broadway).
-
The one line that I'm going to miss from the movie can't be in the show because in the movie, "Dorothy Michaels" becomes an actress in a soap opera on TV, and in the musical, she becomes a Broadway star.
-
My favorite line is the cameraman's:
Rita: I'd like to make her look a little more attractive, how far can you pull back?
Cameraman: How do you feel about Cleveland?
:))
-
And now, since we're so close...

I just hope you don’t get the two things confused.

The IBDB listing (https://www.ibdb.com/broadway-production/tootsie-519394) has the same pictures as the Playbill article, but they can be made a lot larger...but I can't hyperlink to those photos. :-\

Hi, Tom.

I hope the TOOTSIE score is better than THE BAND’S VISIT. I just can’t get into that OBC recording.

Here's hoping for two tickets!

Why does Stephen Colbert have so many reruns?
I'm sure that his vacation time was scheduled way in advance, but they probably just forgot to send you the memo. ;D

How are Nicky and Neve?
-
Neve seems to be doing well.
-
Do you have a picture of Neve?
