Good morning, all! After I got in last night, I took care of a few emails and watched Anderson Cooper. I am allcaught up on the Obamas' European jaunt. I dragged out my score for THE BEGGAR'S OPERA and looked through it for a bit before turning out the lights.
This morning I have a jaunt to Toyland to pick up two books on the Iroquois Theatre Fire and to use the office piano. At 11, I'm meeting a John Vogel who is now the executor for Mr John McGlinn. Mr Vogel initially, before McGlinn's death, contacted me about working for his foundation in musical theatre restoration, and I was reticent for two reasons: I'm was way too busy with BABES IN TOYLAND and I get a lot of peculiar letters about my work, and this man was writing me about working with or contacting two living men I wasn't fond of: the late McGlinn and a slimeball conductor who's a rather evil, amoral bisexual pig. So, suddenly, McGlinn's relatives contacted me because Mr Vogel had approached them about being John's executor and he claimed to know me. I gave them my thoughts on his communications with me and advised them that, since Paige O'Hara wanted to sign off as executor and I'd turned down the executor offer twice, I would be happy to work closely with Mr Vogel to protect the family's and John's wishes. So, today I meet Mr Vogel, and I look forward to discovering what makes this man tick.
I'm listening to Sigmubd Romberg's THE GIRL IN PINK TIGHTS. Oy!
