Loved the photo -- and the report from DR Ben -- Hero Mikey ! He's here to save the day! Yeaaa! (but I'm not surprised, I already knew that he had heroic qualities!) ...

and look at DR ELmo in that pic -- looking all shy and sweet and innocent (what a little actor!)...

Do you think the author of this book reads this here site?  Isn't this what we've been saying, some of us rather vocally?  I agree with the reviewer, however, that some of what's in the book sounds like the author is being elitist, but most of it sounds like it could have been lifted right from our postings.

Fred, unfortunately Ant and I won't be at the party tomorrow. We will be at MusicGuy's send off breakfast but we can't make the late afternoon soirée. I'm glad you were able to put together a festive occasion so quickly. As always, you and Skip are "top drawer"

Funny, I'd gotten an e-mail from the exec director of NYMF several days ago welcoming the show and me - he was the only one I hadn't written to, so I dropped him a line telling him that I didn't seem to be able to get responses or info - within ten minutes of sending it, I got the call I'd been waiting for - and the news is GREAT - we're in the biggest venue, the Acorn Theater right on Theatre Row.  200 seats, a very big stage, and I couldn't be happier.  We open on Thursday September 20th and our final performance is on September 30th.

It doesn't give much information but here's a little blurb about the Acorn Theatre on the Theatre Row Web site

TOD:  DVD, the wonderful French film The Two of Us.  CD:  The Singers Unlimited with Oscar Peterson as well as Luiz Eca.

NYC HHW-ers alert (and victuals alert, too):  I just found out today my niece is the new manager for the Times Square Bubba Gump's.  She's there with my sister right now getting moved into her new digs on W. 52nd.  Drop by and say hi to her--her name is Kallie.

I don't think I broke anything (at least I hope not since I am, at the moment, sans insurance) - I can walk around, the toes are just throbbing a little.  How I'll be in the morning we'll have to wait and see.  I hate when that happens.

If you did, which I hope you didn't, there isn't much a doctor can do for you- just tape the toes together is all.

Did you ice them?

Even so, we pray for the continued good health of his parents, because if anything were to happen to them, we are named as Jonathan's guardians.  Which would certainly be a lifestyle change for us!

This made me chuckle ;D :D

And "This Here Site" is probably repsonsible for selling more CDs, DVDs, and books than many a local newspaper. And, if I'm looking for opinions of B'Way shows, TV Shows, or Movies, I trust the "amateurs at "HHW far more than the "professionals" at the NYT.

I'm empathizing with Bruce on his aching toes.

I've done similar things, myself, and it's extremely painful....and it will take a while before the aching stops, unfortunately.  Those toes are very tender.

If you have sandals, BK....I think you'll have to wear them for a while.

So true, but be very careful.  It is amazing how often those toes will be banged again if you aren't.

Good morning, all! I slept quite well making plans on how to explain the reasons for an anchor and a burlap bag when I showed DR MBarnum the 79th Street Boat Basin.  I was up at 8:10 or so, bathed, dragged my guest off the fire escape and forced him to clean up.  I was going to post but he got all crazy and insisted on dining at once so we went over to the 82nd Street Cafe and had a little breakfast.  I was coaxing him into a view of the Hudson River when DR MusicGuy called him about lunch and my plans fell through on Mikey seeing more of the Hudson than he'd planned.

We walked to the Boat Basin and saw the boats and Mikey headed off to the Virgin - always living in the past - Megastore.  I am about to leave for Lincoln Center and the NYPL.

Amazon.com is offering, as its Deal of the Day, the "Rocky" anthology of five films (all but the most recent one, "Rocky Balboa").

Each has had a high-def remaster, each is presented in anamorphic widescreen (1:85:1 ratio, IIRC), each has DTS sound (along with 5.1CH).

And the remarkable price for this set of films:

$19.95

Popular Snack Food Pulled From Shelves

WASHINGTON (June 29) - A popular snack food sold nationwide is being recalled because of concerns about contamination. All lots and sizes of Veggie Booty Snack Food are being recalled, the company said, following a report of 51 cases of salmonella poisoning that may be associated with the product.

Anybody who'd eat a product called "Veggie Booty Snack" deserves an unhappy outcome!

From a friend:

Quote
I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Harold the computer guy, to come over. Harold clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.

He gave me a bill for a minimum service call. As he was walking away, I called after him, "So, what was wrong?" He replied, "It was an ID ten T error." I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An, ID ten T error? What's that .. in case I need to fix it again?"

Harold grinned.... "Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"

"No," I replied.

"Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."

So I wrote down .   I D 1 0 T

I used to like Harold.

I haven't tried Veggie Bootie (it is a silly name), but just in case I passed the info along to Bryan & Craig.  I don't know about Craig but I suspect Bryan would pass on this product due to the name.  I'm guessing the packaging is aimed at children.
