DRLaura, George & DerBrucer-The photos are wonderful, thanks.

Ann & George, thanks for the details of your time with the Aussies.  I’m looking forward to meeting them in person.  I have much to do before I leave for Portland on Tuesday.

I wish I could join you in Portland!

Berserk is almost a favorite word but only in its alternate spelling: bruceserk.

If you persnickety people haven't read Jrand's beautifully written amazon review, then you owe it to persnickety selves to do so immediately.  I couldn't have done it better if I'd written it myself.

I read it and it's a great review!  I wish I could write reviews that well. ;)

I'm now off to rehearsal for Cannibal.  I have to tape tonight's ABC line-up...and I didn't watch last week's season premier of "Desperate Housewives" yet!  I'll need to watch that before I watch tonight's episode.

Later, all!

Dear Esteemed, super-busy, and studly BK --

I just wanted to check in to the Living Room, say a big hello to all of the lovelies, take my chance of being bitch-slapped, and let you know that I've been having to do a lot of extra work this past week.  I just today had a chance to catch up on the last 4 or 5 days of your notes.

BUT ......... the fabulous news is that my copy of the lovelier than lovely new book by your lovely self arrived.  Huzzah and Hooray !!

It will provide me with the fun of a story a night, as I get ready to go to sleep.  So you see, it has finally happened;  I will be curled up with you for 30 minutes or so in our bed each evening.

I'm sure that DP Kerry and Sugar won't mind a bit.  :)

Thanks so much for the speedy shipping on the new book!!

Larry, while Mr. Packard may be ignoring your e-mails and that ignoring may be related to the troubles at HP, the Packard Humanities Institute and HP are two separate entities. The PHI is not funded or supported by HP. HP is a for-profit corporation. PHI is an independent, tax-exepmt foundation. Granted, some of the money to establish the Institute came from the pockets of the Packards but it will not cease operations if HP begins to tank. Toyland should live to see another day.

Taken from the PHI Web site:

The Packard Humanities Institute (PHI) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to archaeology, music, film preservation, historic conservation, and early education. PHI is located in Los Altos, California.

PHI is independent of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and is not associated in any way with any Hewlett-Packard Company foundations.

Go here

Foundation Center

and use Foundation Finder and search for Packard Humanities Institute. You should be able to find information about the Foundation (though you may know something about it already).

Thank you, DR Ben!  I know that I'm employed by the Institute, but I am also aware that the vagaries of HP affect my contact with my employers!

Sunday evening greetings from Ohio.  Yes, DH Richard and I are home after an uneventful flight that left LaGuardia 30 minutes late and landed in Dayton 15 minutes early - go figure.

We are both very tired - I do have to work tomorrow, but elected to go in 12-9, plus I'll earn 8 hours of comp time because it's a holiday.

DR MBARNUM - suddenly TWO autographed photos of Allison Hayes arrive at EBAY....but the signatures look nothing like the four I have from her.....which closely match the signature on her Social Security application at age 14.  I think we are dealing with a couple of spurious signatures.
