More semi-random musing:

I can't stand the woman who is eating at the Chinese(?) restaurant in the Geico commercial.  What the heck is she playing?  First she sits there smiling at the money-pack and then acts shocked when told it's the money she could have saved blah blah blah and then she is suddenly all smiles and says "I know..." like she's the cat that just swallowed the canary.  What the--?!?

Since I seem to have annoyed a few people last week with my over-enthusiastic reminder to DR Elmore about BURN NOTICE, I'll simply say:

DR Elmore, please don't forget about BURN NOTICE tonight!

Another of my ex-wife's favorite things to make was London Broil, wherein you'd take a slab of beef, put a packet's worth of Lipton Onion Soup over it and then stick that in the oven and somehow it came out okay.  She also made a really good chicken and rice dish that was baked in the oven and involved rice.  It was good, too.

Portland Public Schools has just announced their "plan" to make up the many lost snow days.  In addition to cancelling one "teacher development" day (where the kids wouldn't have been in school), and extending the school year by one day, they are now starting school 10 minutes early for the duration of the year.  I hope their "plan" includes a special attendant who can come and drag Zach out of bed each morning. ;)

No; that's already covered in the Stimulus Package working its way through Congress.

It is VERY windy here in Manhattan. I went to Trader Joe's at lunch to get some things for the home environment. I bought lettuce, carrots, grape tomatoes, milk, some

Port Salut Cheese

a pack of Dark Chocolate bars and some smoked turkey. I LOVE Port Salut. I had it first in France when I spent a summer there in 1988. Anthony doesn't like it much so I get it when he's away. He prefers Muenster.

As I was walking home with my Marks and Spencers bag the wind came up so strongly that I had to stop walking. Winds are predicted to be over 50mphs. I may not walk to the theatre tonight. We will see how it is at 6:30pm

Der Brucer,

Bruce seemed highly insulted by my original e-mail.

Not being a groupie who attends this sight religiously, I couldn't tell you what Bruce's policy is about pulling posts.

I thought making an upfront post would be flaunting it in Bruce's face, and I thought that would be "unseemly".

No guilt is involved here.  If you feel I didn't have the right to send you a message, that's unfortunate.
I think I deserve better than this.  Be better than this.

Perhaps the Rockettes have moved to Studio City and she's simply the first to arrive.

And "Make-up with friends" vibes to BK and Macchus (because life is too short and you guys have known each other for a loooooooooong time)

You both have egos and you're both pretty. Ok.

thank you all for the vibes - I hate to whine but it is terribly frustrating and painful

I don't even think of it as whining.  I am very moved by the fact you have shared your difficult journey with us.  I just wish your pain would end soon.  Continued good vibes & wishes.

I never have blonde women in front of my house on their cell phones, or women kicking their legs up either.

But then again, I was never on the DONNY & MARIE SHOW.

Ooooh! Let's talk about commercials we hate. I cannot stand the car insurence commercials with the obnoxious chunky actress with the black hair blowing a kazoo and trying to be funny. She isn't.

I don't like her either--she reminds me of the Tivo girl, who I also don't like.
