Yikes!  The tree they're removing is right outside the southeast corner of our house.  My desk, where I'm sitting at this very moment, is inside the southeast corner of our house.  Talk about up close and personal!

Are they cute?

We're going to have thunderstorms for the next few days.  I rather enjoy going to work on a rainy day.

We no longer have cable, having moved to a digital box attached to our television from 2000 and an over the air antenna but last night I was re-scanning because bad weather can cause a channel to drop from the box. In the re-scan I found we are getting a new "sub" channel along with our local WPIX Channel 11. We now get

This TV

It's a joint venture between film/TV studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting. Unfortunately, they also chop up the movies with as many commercials as they can fit.

They are showing Attack of the Puppet People Saturday evening at 11PM!

They also show some old television shows, including the Patty Duke Show and Sea Hunt.

You  can also watch a limited number of movies on line "with limited commercial interruption" One of the movies available is "Still of the Night" starring Meryl Streep and Roy Scheider. I did background work in that movie in the spring of 1981. It's a dreadful movie but I was clearly available in the auction scene when Mr. Scheider walked up the aisle. I look about 12 years old.

DR Ben, I expect a complete report from you on ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE.

You can also catch HIGHWAY PATROL, right after, or before, SEA HUNT.

In a Latin sort of way...

The thing that amazes me is that they're not wearing gloves.

I shall have to look for you next time I watch the movie DR BEN.....I paid to see that at the theatre!

On THIS tv today at 1:30 p.m. or so Miss Allison Hayes and Miss Beverly Garland and Mr John Ireland are starring in GUNSLINGER....  I had only seen bad VHS and DVD copies of this movie, but when it was on Encore Western Channel, it looked GREAT......don't know what kind of version THIS will be showing today....I may check it out briefly.

TOD:  I may be guilty of taking your request too literally, but my favorite Lerner "lyric" is....

"The mist of May is in the gloamin',
and all the clouds are holdin' still.
So take my hand and let's go roamin'
through the heather on the hill.

"The mornin' dew is blinkin' yonder.
There's lazy music in the rill,
And all I want to do is wander
through the heather on the hill."

DR Jane, my copy of THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST is waiting for me at the library.  Although wouldn't you know it that they have another book waiting for me that i've also been waiting very impatiently to read. I will probably lend the latter to my sister.

I want to read Hornet's next first. But i have another book i must read after that (before the other book that is waiting for me).

Yippee!

Wow!  I am enjoying the rousing soundtrack from BOY AND THE PIRATES that arrived today.  What a fun CD!

And of course the PUPPET PEOPLE SUITE is most exciting and satisfying.....and FUN!  It's kind of like the JOSEPH megamix.....the whole movie all over again in about 6 minutes.  We have the lovely "You're A Dolly" sung by Miss Susan Gordon on the Jeepers Creepers CD and this suite from the film incorporates that melody in several places!

Hurray for Kritzerland!  thanks, MR BK, for another CD treat!

I am sorry that no photos of Miss Susan Gordon were included in the booklet - but sometimes that's the way it is.  There are several interviews with Mr Charles Herbert online....

Shockingly, nothing from the helper.  I wrote her another e-mail last night saying that since this was very unlike her that I was concerned she was sick or something was wrong, and to please at least let me know that she's okay.  Now, maybe she's still sleeping so hopefully I'll hear something in a few hours.  But this is a person who checks their Blackberry every ten seconds.

And can someone please tell me what's up with dear reader Jose, who hasn't made an appearance here all day yesterday and most of the day before.  Is there some problem I don't know about?

Well, that was some trip. We went hiking this morning. Or at least started to. Now we are home and looking to buy a new vehicle in the very near future.

Back from mixing.  We didn't really do any mixing today - we listened to all the songs we've done pitch correction on and I have to tell you, it's glorious.  It's like hearing a whole different album.  And the rough mixes sound amazing - I'm hearing orchestral details I've never heard, and in You'll Think of Someone, there's a little funny bit with Miss O'Hara and Orbach that they didn't use on the album - we're using it - it's adorable.  So, he has two more songs to fix pitches on, and then he'll get the rest of the mixes up and ready for me to finesse tomorrow, but I am so thrilled with this - it's going to, I hope, blow people away.
