Good morning, all! I had a chance to sleep in until 7:45 and I took it. Since then, i've checked my email, bathed, and had my first cup of coffee. Around 11, I will head down to Toyland for a session with Mr Skip Kennon. As for my work desk here, i've got a Herbert celllo piece to edit and a transposed song to proof, and I must begin my serious thoughts on my lecture in Ohio.
As to today's topic, I like Alan Jay Lerner's lyrics a lot more than some of his libretti and I think he worked best when he wasn't creating an original story. Still, there are some mighty fine lyrics from the dud shows, although I think the best lyrics are inseparable from their melodies:
One More Walk Around the Garden
How Can I Wait?
I Loved You Once In Silence
What Did I Have that I Don't Have
