And might I just say the following:  PAGE THREE?  At this hour?  In what universe?  You'd think it was a Sunday at the end of what must have been the  longest fourth of July weekend in history.

I finished THE PRODIGAL today....lovely color....and exactly what I like in a movie:  NOTHING SUBTLE OR INTERNAL!!!

Has any other movie ended with its heroine (or her stunt double) taking a header into a giant incense burner?

Nope, page 4 (just barely and merrily) ...

Continued flight vibes to DR SINGDAW....hopefully you will have delightful seat mates.

It is VERY warm here today, so I am staying inside and enjoying the air conditioning.

DR MBARNUM's kitty fits perfectly in the window!

Here's the scene at my house---3 out of 4: Ociee, Bailey and Elmo

Cute photo -- I love how Elmo (if AP style -- left to right in cutline ID -- is what I should be using) has his head on the pillow just like a little people person...

Yes, DR KAREN

The DREAM-O-MATIC 6000 says that from the description of your dream:

You read each and every post at HHW - but you read them so quickly they become in your subconscious ONE LONG POST....

Whew! That's a relief ...

Well, methinks that DR MusicGuy actually likes the locker room... and/or at least hitting the showers.

Bingo!

BK, what day did you write about Nancy Drew in your notes? I remember reading it at the time but can't find it now.

Also, FYI, the search function on your notes page doesn't work.

How can we still be on Page Four.  I have been up since 8 this morning, and I don't even have a lot of posts to read.  Hmm, I think I am bored.

Back from church. Folks are piling all manner of things in my office in their setting up for Vacation Bible School.

Hey, a little sympathy here!

The temperature is hitting 90° and the humidity is almost at 40% - the central air is working overtime and my tomato plants are wilting >:(

I had an entertaining afternoon of viewing. I began with one of the "comedy" MURDER SHE WROTE episodes which they occasionally threw into the mix, a lighter tone despite a murder happening (though the murder happens very late indeed in this episode).

This was the one with the moyoral race going on and a stranger coming to town claiming to be the common law wife of mayor Sam, complete with five children. The woman later ends up dead.

Along with the usual Cabot Cove guest stars like Julie Adams, Kathryn Grayson, Gloria DeHaven, and Ruth Roman, Orson Bean, John Considine, and Holland Taylor were also on the scene.

In his commentary, Dr. Drew Casper makes a big deal about the athlete who takes the first plunge into the fire (I didn't think it was anything special. He just jumped in! Lana's plunge is much more spectacular.)

Next, I watched CAGED. I'm sorry, but there isn't anything campy about this movie. It's a serious drama with fine production values and excellent performances. Is it considered campy because Emerson calls the women "tramps," or there is dialog like, "She's a cute trick" or "Who's the fish?" Sounds very realistic to me, especially for a necessarily toned down Production Code feature of 1950.

I ended the afternoon with a WILD WILD WEST episode, the last on disc 4 of the set - "The Night of the Tottering Tontine." I only got 3/4 of the way through it, but it's a very fun episode with an estate filled with traps doors and booby traps and people being picked off one by one by an unknown assassin. I think I've figured out who the guilty party is, but I'll find out when I see the last 15 minutes later.

My friend Jeff sent me the pool pictures, and I'll have to crop and reduce the size of them before I can post them. Look for one or two of them later.

I have never seen MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG performed on any stage, and it's one of my objectives before I die to see it (hopefully in a professional production). I adore the score.

Have you no faith in Musical Theatre in the afterlife - think of the casting possibilities!

After that, it's back to the Spirtas charts, which are an ordeal since the band is so small. There's not much  color with only a sax and trumpet and everything...

Would the job improve with a second keyboard?
