What about an upside-down Christmas tree??

;)

They actually sell an upside down Christmas Tree at Shopko here. There is a base on the pointy end which sits on the floor. They had one set up at the store. Really goofy looking

I'm feeling much better today. I think in part because I remembered what I did to hurt my back. Ok, it was goofy trying to lift something heavy out of a box and having to strain and struggle to get it out. It didn't hurt until about 12-18 hours later. It's a relief to know it's a strain or a sprain and not a brain tumor or something equally awful....I didn't really think that, but one never knows.   I'm still going to the Chiro tomorrow.

To add another reason why I like the internet from the other day.....I just finished and filed a memorandum in a case that was due today.  Due today used to mean 5:00 PM at the Clerk of Court.  Now it means electronically filed at any computer anywhere by midnight.  Much nicer way to do business

Christmas songs....well it isn't a recording, but my favorite is Silent Night when we sing it at the midnight Christmas eve service.  Everyone has a candle and all the lights are turned down or off. It's a wonderful glow and a wonderful experience, especially when followed by walking out of the church to a lightly falling Christmas Eve Snow

I don't think Edi has left us. She loves it here and was talking about traveling and moving. Can't remember the dates, but it was pretty clear she's busy away from the computer

Thanks once again to the Hainsies and Kimlets for the good wishes.  I've had a great day and a half. Tonight it is dinner at my favourite restaurant.

Wow, TCB and George the wind down here is really, really strong! My lights also are flickering and all the window pains are a-shakin'

It is also very noisy and I keep expecting a tree to crash though the roof or something...but hopefully that won't happen.

And if the electricity does go out, I hope it is after SURVIVOR airs!

I watched a few episodes of DIVER DAN. I guess I would enjoy it better if it was a show I had grown up with....I don't think I will be able to get through all 15 episodes.

Toby seems to enjoy Jennifer Hudson's voice.  During a DREAMGIRLS TV commercial, when Ms. Hudson started wailing "no no no no way," Toby cocked an ear towards the speaker and gave a big doggie smile.

All sorts!  it is a total dining experience with a walk in the gardens being usual between courses.  Never crowded nor noisy and booked for a year in advance at this time of the year. We've been going there each year for over 20 years now. (More than just once a year).  I've had my Christmas meal there for the past two eyars with friends and this time DP Colin is escaping his family obligations and joining us. Now that we are both in our sixties we feel it's time to please ourselves! (We've only had Christmas dinner togehter twice before in 30 years).

Nice song from DR FJL - re: The Night of a Dozen Stars.

My lights went off for a few minutes....not windy here, but it was 57 degrees, very unseemly for mid December.

What time is DR RLP supposed to arrive at his destination?

I've just put away a ton of DVDs and pulled a few to use as stocking stuffers.  The Brain has just begun its opening number and I'm going off to bed now.

Good night, all!

I saw previews of APOCALYPTO at the last film I went to at the theater, and it looked absurdly awful to me. One of our movie reviewers here in town called it his latest snuff film, and gave it one star.
