Hopefully the bird basketball goal ordered online will be here in a few days.....until then my life will be a living hell....

On my way in a bit for my first blocking rehearsal.  I am off book, but we shall see how it goes.

We also loved The Wind in the Willows with the classic illustrations. And lord help me, another favorite story was Little Black Sambo!

I keep referencing illustrations, but they were such a huge part of how we processed these things. I do love seeing the original ones I grew up on.

When we lived in Germany, my sister and I had a few "when you hear the bell, turn the page"-type read-along books with records.  We actually had one that was "Little Brave Sambo." ::)

TOD  Pooh, Nancy Drew, Hardy boys (from my brother), Books from my mothers childhood, Brighty of Grand Canyon about a grand canyon donkey.  Pretty much anything I could get my hands on.  I would leave the library with armloads of books when I was 7 or 8.

My possum story:

I was driving and came up over a hill.  A possum looked at me.....I think I was the last thing he saw....

The End.

My possum story:

I was living in Florida and had a sliding glass door with screen in my bedroom. The screen was closed but the door was open. A family of possums scratched through the screen and crawled in under my bed. I think I woke up in the middle of things and managed to shoo them out the door. I just realized that they were probably trying to hide from the bobcat that lived in the vacant lot next door.

Oh, my goodness!

I spent the morning at the dentist having my teeth cleaned, then ran errands on the way home.

Where do all the errands come from? I do as much of my shopping online as possible, so why does the errand list not get shorter???

The best news is that all of my major bills from my financial crunch are paid off.  The last two checks just cleared my bank this morning.  I'm happy that hurdle is over.

Yay! Very pleased for you.

There is NO parakeet basketball game within 20 miles of my house....so I ordered one online.....

I bought a mirror with an abacus to hold us over.  It is being ignored.

I was so impressed with Birdy Barnum's athletic prowess that I looked at some bird toys online. I found them quite boring and I didn't see any basketball equipment at all. But, then again, I'm not a bird.

Ugh! I do not like wild animals in the house.

My favorite standalone children's books were the original Madeline and The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge. But my sister and I liked all the standard fairy tales. The books I always remembered for their illustrations were the classic Grosset & Dunlap editions of Grimms' and Andersen's. And Alice in Wonderland with the classic Sir John Tenniel illustrations.

I loved Madeline and turning the pages of the story.

To this day I have never read a Pooh book. .

I had never read it and tried a bit when our children were young.  I never got very far with it.

Sounds like a wonderful gift.

It was...and is.

It’s great that you still have it.

DR Jane, thank you so much. The bookmarks that you sent are stunning. I love them so much!

Wonderful!  I was beginning to fear they were lost.  I could have purchased ten more like those.  There were far too many beautiful book marks to choose from.

Yes - I wanted Vitello's for that day for my one man cabaret show.  I am working on the tracks now.

I think I will just use a CD Player and if a song starts that I don't want to sing, I'll just skip it.

And I think I'll use tracks with lyrics just in case I forget some of them.

It's called An Evening To Remember.....and I am part of the Lunatic Fringe.

Sounds wonderful, I am booking my flights now
