Last night on JEOPARDY, Mr. Speilberg was involved with Final Jeopardy.  The Final Answer was:  "The film contains the direction, 'Start with the tone..... Up a full tone.... down a major third.... Now drop an octave..... Up a perfect fifth'"

what is the tune used to communicate in Close Encounters of the Third Kind?

A glorious day for butterfly hunting. At least this morning. It got windy around noon, so we headed back. When we got home, Mae-Ling joined us, and we all played a game of Scrabble. Then the girls decided they wanted to cook dinner at my house, so we whipped up some pasta, chicken, and a Parmesan sauce. Now we are waiting for the rain.

I had P B & J for breakfast.  It was very good.

I had one last night just before I went to bed  - Skippy smooth on white bread with grape jelly

In the U.S., "jelly" is jam without the solids.

Dee dah dum dah dahhhhh

 ;D

I think this is in the key of E flat.

First note is B flat, second one is C, third is A flat below the first B flat, the next note is the A flat one octave below the first A flat and lastly is an E flat above the lower A flat.

We packed six yard  bags full and the yard looks much better now -  nice to have that all done and it is nearly two months before my usual planting time (I usually put the impatiens in on Mothers Day weekend)

The questions is --- did you eat them?

When the Vixter was smaller the teachers encouraged(?)( Chastised, ordered. demanded)  that we parents pack carrot and celery sticks and the like in the bagged lunches - the lunch lady told me that the kids  threw these items directly in the trash

Back from an unexpectedly long night.  Rehearsal was fun and all the new material works well - I figured out the structure for the ending so that it accommodates the new stuff.  Then we went to California Pizza Kitchen where we had an absolutely yummilicious dinner.  They told me about a Showtime documentary they'd just seen and since I seemed interested they invited me back to their place to watch.  The thing was called The Hollywood Complex and is about Oakwood Apartments being used every pilot season by families whose children want to be in the business.  It was properly creepy and weird and more than a little sad - not only the occasionally wacked out parents, but "agents" and "casting directors" none of whom I've heard of all offering advice and stuff - these people are not doing this for free, and it costs the families huge amounts of money to do this.  The documentary never really visits that part of it and the viewer is left to draw their own obvious conclusions.

After that, Melody tried on her dress from last year - it's too tight now.  We then had a hilarious costume parade, where she just kept coming out in new outfits.  Really funny.  We also had some homemade apple pie.  A very lovely evening, really.

I just watched a very nice Bollywood movie about a gal who finally falls in love, but it turns out that the guy she is in love with is actually a resident at the local mental hospital.

Judging from my past boyfriends, I could have written that script.

And where, might I ask, is DR George?  He went off to usher last evening, but never came back?

Last night, I ushered for the Playing for Change band.  I didn't actually see the concert, but I heard it out in the lobby.  It was quite full audience.  I sold merchandise and wow did the merchandise sell.  We must've sold over $1000 worth.  Afterward, the performers all came out and signed for audience.  I was able to get one of the Washington Center posters and got it signed!  Here's the poster:
